McPherson is a wonderful college set in a wonderful family feel community. McPherson has amazing students and staff that welcome everyone and the town is so much like family. They provide smaller class sizes for ultimate learning environments and the professors literally know you by name and interest. The campus has safety as a priority even cutting there trees 8' from the ground for view and protection. The dorms are also only accessible by students with a card at the front entrance. I chose McPherson as my college choice because of their personal relationships, class sizes, art and VB program, safety and the fact it is close to home for me.

McPherson College is a pretty underrated school that’s worth checking out, especially if you’re into hands-on learning and small, tight-knit communities. It’s a small liberal arts college in Kansas where the professors actually know you by name, and you’re not just another face in a giant lecture hall. That personal attention can make a huge difference, whether you’re struggling in a class or just need advice about your future.
The biggest standout here is the Automotive Restoration program. If you’re even remotely into cars—especially vintage ones—this is the dream school. It’s one of the only places in the country with a program like this, and you get to work on actual classic cars. Even Jay Leno is a fan of the program, which is saying something.
But it’s not all about cars. McPherson offers other majors and programs, and they all have a focus on giving you real-world experience. The campus vibe is super inclusive, and while it’s connected to the Church of the Brethren, it’s not overly religious. It’s more about fostering a community where people look out for each other.
If you’re looking for a big party scene, this probably isn’t the place. But if you want a school where you can really dive into your interests, build connections, and grow as a person, McPherson might surprise you. It’s got a unique charm that stands out, especially if you’re tired of cookie-cutter college experiences.

In all honesty, when first arriving at McPherson College I didn't think I would enjoy myself at all. However, the small town environment grew on me in a hurry. It became very easy to make friends because of the many campus activities there are. Activities include bingo with prizes such as Air-pods, concert tickets, and even flat screen TV's. The sports atmospheres are electric as well, especially in the rivalry games. Free shirts, hats, sunglasses, and more are given out for attending the games. The dorms get the job done and the cafeteria food has its ups and downs. In all McPherson College is a great place to attend. The AR program is one of the best nationwide. I would recommend this college to anyone who doesn't mind the small town feel.

Safest school in America. Students and Faculty are family. Class sizes are small and professors are always available. Student athletes are supported by the school. 100% pre profession acceptance rate. Lots of small towns around. Small campus.

My overall opinion for Mcpherson College is that it is a good college. The community is very friendly and I feel welcomed here even though I am far away from home. The professors care about each student and are very friendly. The class sizes are smaller than my classes in high school which makes me feel like there are more one on one opportunities with each professor.

I love McPherson College! I'm very happy to attend there and be a part of the community! It's definitely the place for me!

Mcpheson College is a smaller private college which allows the faculty to really connect with their students. My experience at Mcpherson College so far has been overwhelmingly good. My area of study has a lot of competition and has a great environment to learn.

I am in LOVE with McPherson College. I have never had so much fun while learning before while also getting the chance to meet peers from all around the country and the world. Our class sizes are small enough to where all of your professors know your name and your history. There are free activities almost every week for students to attend other than sporting events and theater shows. We are all a very close knit family, no matter where you live, how old you are, or what class you're in.
The fall 2020 acceptance rate for McPherson College is 57%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020, _____ students were offered admission.
What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
In high school I took AP classes, got good grades and I didn't procrastinate, much. But if I had to tell myself one thing it would be to work more hours at my job and put more of that money away for savings. College is expensive and I didn't save enough money to make it through my first semester. I would also tell myself to never ever procrastinate because in college the projects are bigger and the deadlines are not flexible, so never starting that habit at all would have prepared me better for the deadlines in college.
It's a really small college. I call all of my professors by their first names and they know practically every student on campus. It's really nice to be able to have a professor whose office door is always open for students and if it isn't, their cell phones are available for students to call or their house is always open as well.
What's the most frustrating thing about your school?
The most frustrating thing about McPherson College is that I am considered old by many of the students. I am a 31 year old Freshman, I had just recently decided to go to college after being in the military for many years and it has been very challenging for me to reinstate myself in an educational environment.
What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?
The admissions process can be really difficult at McPherson College, they have an issue with communication between the different offices. For instance, The financial aid department does not communicate when aid has been received into the office, therefore, the business office does not know when aid has been received.
The kind of person that should attend McPherson College should really enjoy being in a small town enviornment. Being involved in the college is also important, whether it's supporting the athletic teams or helping out other students in their classes. Also, if the person is looking for more one-on-one time with their proffesors this would be the right college for them
All students must apply yearly for financial aid. This process starts with the FAFSA.
Though financial aid deadlines vary by school, it is a good idea to apply as soon as possible. For the upcoming school year, you can apply as early as October 1 for the FAFSA. Additional school aid will be dependent on the FAFSA results.
