I love the smaller size and atmosphere. It helps foster intellectual conversations and learning and allows for personal relationships with professors and classmates. Overall, I love Meredith, but certain aspects of campus like the dorms and dining hall are lacking.
Kiara
I love Meredith College. It's such a friendly space, and all the people you will meet will always be willing to help. It is a women's school with security, always making sure we are safe. The food is okay, but the staff is amiable. Right now, I am in work study and they make the process so easy and the flexible schedules make it so i can quickly go to class and have a social life. The professors are friendly, and most are available to help even after office hours.

Meredith College is a safe space for women. The campus is free from harassment and discrimination, and the students, faculty, and staff are committed to creating a supportive and inclusive environment.
One of the things that makes Meredith such a safe space is its small size. With just over 1,500 undergraduate students, everyone knows everyone else. This creates a sense of community and belonging that is hard to find at larger schools.
Another reason why Meredith is a safe space is its focus on women's empowerment. The college offers a variety of programs and resources that help women develop their leadership skills and reach their full potential.

Meredith College is a great school for students who have been more sheltered growing up and may not be ready for a big party campus. It is all girls so the sisterhood values are real. You won't find a party scene there because the people who are into that go to the neighboring big university but on campus, everyone seems pretty innocent. There are different clubs and organizations but not too much action in general. I feel very safe walking around campus though because it's all girls and very quiet. You can go on runs if you want and not worry and possible stalkers. I think it's just meant to be a chill school to just get your degree and be done with it but it truly depends on how deep you want to get into traditions and other things. It is all about what you make of it.

Meredith College is a small liberal arts college with big opportunities located in Raleigh, North Carolina. Meredith offers small class sizes and access to professors outside of class as well as research opportunities, an extensive study-abroad program, and leadership opportunities.

Meredith being a prestigious private college is well endowed. It allows for both the history of the college and the new times to be witnessed and shown in each unique way that helps the students in every possible way.

I love Meredith College but I'm sure like many other schools, it just isn't the same school I transferred to prior to the pandemic. A lot of issues have been brought to light, red flags being raised, and while there is some initiative from higher ups at the school to address these issues it largely seems to be for appearances and funding not for the general well-being and safety of the students.
Luna
Your professors will be accessible. They care about you and what you are doing, and are willing to be flexible and help you succeed. However, for me the downside was the class availability. It's difficult completing my course requirements because there aren't a wide variety of course offerings each semester. Additionally, I think the major requirements for my major could be improved.

Its amazing, I have been to Meredith College a multitude of times for various reasons. I've been with friends, study groups, chorus ensembles and I love the energy. Its an all girl's school which is totally awesome. A new experience wherever you turn and multiple things to do.
Oranell
In my opinion, Meredith is a very great institute for learning. During my visit, they were very thorough and very serious about their studies. The class sizes are very appropriate for learning and towards having the ability to connect with peers and professors.

Meredith is a good place to learn and grow and I’m glad I took the time to explore this beautiful campus. The students where so nice and they seemed to be enjoying themselves 24/7.The food was great and I did note leave dissatisfied.I hope to come back in the fall of 2020.
Savana
I really enjoy attending Meredith College. The small class sizes help me to learn and I know if I ever have a question, I can go to a professor for help. Thanks to Meredith, I've come out of my shell and I've made a plethora of new friends. It's also close enough to the city so that you're not stuck in the busy traffic but you can still find something to do whenever you want.
Aubrey
I want to go their because they are so close and act like family to one another. Its also 1-on-1, which I learn better with considering I'm coming from a small town. I would really like to go here but $27,000 was way to much for me considering I have 2 younger siblings. I didn't feel that I should take away from their futures, so instead I went to the community college and got my AS but I would like to further my education at Meredith in the Nutrition Program.
Naiylah
Meredith is overall a good school. The community is great and it has a sense of welcoming to it. There are usually a lot of things to do just because the college is in Raleigh, which has much to do. The food could be better but is usually good, it is college so no one is expecting gourmet meals. Some of the facilities could be updated but none of them are terrible and unlivable; they are nice and could just use some upgrades. The professors are always accessible and it's usually up to you whether or not you get help and/or get to know them.
Anna
Love the small size and family feel! The faculty (at least in the nutrition department) is fantastic! I only went here for graduate school so I don't have much exposure to the "typical" aspects of the college especially since I never lived on campus. However, as a grad student, I felt very at home in my department.
The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Meredith College is 60%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020, _____ students were offered admission.
What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
As a college student, if I could go back in time and tell myself as a high school senior, what I know now, I would talk about a lot of things. Being at a private college, financial responsibility and work ethic are both very important. I didn't work as hard as I should have in high school, making the transition to college harder. I would tell myself that the work in high school was actually preparing me for the college challenge. In college, no, you don't have to go to class and you don't have to do your homework, but it is something that you are paying for, making you more appreciative, and more focused on being successful. I would also tell myself to be more open minded coming into college. I came from a small town, and my college is very diverse. In becoming more open minded, I have made so many new friends and established more relationships than I could ever have imagined as a high schooler. I have made friends with people that I normally wouldn't have associated with, which I feel is a huge accomplishment, and a step towards growing up.
Well all my classmates are females, and many of them come from very weathy families. So sometimes coming from a family that is not weathy is a challenge to fit in. Most people here do not work two jobs and pay for everything on their own, because their parents just hand them the money.
Describe how your school looks to someone who's never seen it.
Meredith is a single gendered community where learning really is the most important thing that is taking place and almost everyone equally respects that goal.
Meredith College is a unique school that is best known for its traditions. There are events throughout the four years of college that every student is able to participate in. These events include Cornhuskin, a night full of skits and dancing, Ring Dinner, the night that every junior is given their Meredith ring, Tea for Two, an evening that Meredith girls are able to have tea and cakes with her mother, as well as many more unique events. Meredith College is also known for its beautiful, yet small, inviting campus.
What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about your school?
I tell my friends that it is a good school and it is a nice place because many things are included in tuitution. We receive laptops, our laundry is free, the food is not too bad, the campus is very safe, it is nice to wear sweats to class, and not have to wear make-up everywhere.
What's the most frustrating thing about your school?
The most frustrating thing about my school is the cost. Tuition went up nearly $2000 for next year and it is leaving me with the struggle to come up with the money to come back next year and get the education that I deserve.
All students must apply yearly for financial aid. This process starts with the FAFSA.
Though financial aid deadlines vary by school, it is a good idea to apply as soon as possible. For the upcoming school year, you can apply as early as October 1 for the FAFSA. Additional school aid will be dependent on the FAFSA results.
