Metropolitan Community College is the Best College Ever

When I think about the community college I attended, I am honestly filled with gratitude. Metropolitan Community College is not only an amazing place that fosters learning and growth at an extremely affordable price, it provides our community with multiple resources and opportunities. They are very accessible, versatile, and diverse. The classroom sizes are small, so students often have a good chance of establishing strong relationships with both teachers and students. Everyone there truly wants you to succeed, and they are really great at connecting you with potential employment or internship opportunities. This is the kind of place that celebrates unique individuals that are determined to further their talents and abilities. I vividly remember when I first walked in to register for classes. The lady that attended me was so kind and encouraging. I am truly grateful to have experienced such a great school.

MCC has given me so many opportunities that I can graduate high school with my associate's degree already completed! They work closely with local universities, so I can easily transfer my credits when I finish my bachelor's degree. The entire MCC program has been beneficial and simple for me to get through my basic gen-ed classes. I highly recommend MCC to people who are unsure of what they want to major in, people who want to save lots of money on classes, or even people who just want some extra knowledge from a local affordable class. The program works very well with people if you ask for help and it has overall boosted my academic career which will lead me to a bright future!

I think it is a great school! Especially for those trying to get pre-requisites out of the way or even those trying to get certificates. They have tons of opportunities, and not to mention scholarships. I was involved in their dual enrollment program where I received my associates at the end of high school, and I feel that has really helped me in college. I feel like anyone who is considering it should do it.

The college is very up beat and pleasant. Everyone is here to learn. The welcome area has a shop, vending machines, board games and puzzles for all to play and interact with. I did on my first day I ever visited the campus. The impact of new friends is huge and very welcoming for me. Also I like how there is charging station all around the schools for phones and laptops. There always access and availability to check out a laptop, computer and even for Mac users. I am eager to learn because of the atmosphere this college has.

I greatly enjoyed my time at the Metropolitan Community College. I attended the Longview campus. The campus itself was very beautiful and well taken care of. The teachers are all intelligent, helpful, and quick to respond to any inquires from students. The student counselors are also incredibly helpful and efficient. With their guidance, every single one of my credits was successfully transferred over to my new college and have all been applied. I highly recommend this college.

South campus is small and you learn your way around it fast, the professor are very helpful , understanding and respond to your email quickly. overall I do believe it is a very good school to start off your college life at. Also it’s not very expensive unlike the 4 year college’s.

I am a current student at Metropolitan Community College, however, I take classes online. I have visited the campus a few times and it is beautiful! The staff are wonderful and very helpful people as well. I am not able to personally experience the full campus life style, but I have heard nothing but good thing about each campus in the area and their facilities.

I loved this college for my first two years of schooling. It is a lot more affordable than the universities around and is less intimidating. The smaller classes for general education requirements makes a huge difference in my experience and I have learned a lot because of it.

It’s pretty okay. I have had a few run-ins with instructors but have also met some of the coolest instructors in my schooling career. I attended south Omaha campus and sarpy center. I liked south Omaha campus more. I found the instructors to be more involved with their students.

I really enjoy attending Metropolitan Community College. I attend the Elkhorn campus. It is always clean, and I always feel safe. Class sizes, academics, professors, and facility is great! Tuition cost is even better! However, it doesn't offer a lot of opportunities to meet other students or get involved much.

Metropolitan community college is a huge opportunity. The professors are always available;in fact, they will email you back at any time of the night. They won’t let you leave the classroom until you fully understand the concept. They will explain the concept in anyway that helps you learn better whether it’s lecturing or hands on learning. The students are very friendly. You become involved with the students inside and outside the classroom. In my opinion, if you are a student that wants to stay close to home or has children; metropolitan community college is the way to go. This college is worth while.

Most campus's I have attended have been very nice. The professors are extremely nice and reachable after class. The campus outdoors, classrooms, and hallways are usually kept very clean and orderly. I would say that for what I'm looking for, it has been exactly what I needed.

What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
College is an adventure unlike any other. It is filled with new friendships and oppurtunities. It is important to never give up on any of your goals, but also not overload yourself with too many goals at one time. College is not as easy as high school, and presents many new challenges to overcome. Making sure that your major is the one you will want to spend the rest of your life doing is always a good idea; so take courses in anything you may be interested in even if you are sure of what major you want. Life changes fast once out of high school and even with all the growing you have already done, there is still much more to come. Do not ever assume that you know best, but instead be open to new ideas and listen to everyones opinion; they may add insight you had never before thought of. However, most importantly be true to yourself and study hard, open your books, read your notes, and ask for help when you need it; there is no limit to your accomplishments, so reach for the stars.
Here's your chance: Say anything about your college!
Metropolitan Community College is unique because not only does it offer a cheaper education, it has more diversity in age groups for students. As well as it does have many students who are proud to attend the college, even though it's a commuinity college it has plenty of school spirit.
I believe any type of person should attend this school. I started right after high school and I believe it gives you the ideal of college just not to the extreme. MCC also helps you explore and learn yourself (stregnths and weaknesses). It is a very diverse school as well and everyone feels accepted there. It also helped save money in the long run.
What kind of person should not attend this school?
A kind of person who shouldn?t attend Metropolitan Community College (Nebraska) is a person who doesn?t wants to invest their time, money, and hard work in receiving a higher education. I chose to pursue my degree here due to my prior experience of taking some classes at MCC in high school. The students in all of my classes were very cooperative and all the professors were very helpful. Everyone here is extremely nice and with a smile always willing to help; due which I have been successful in all the courses I have taken at MCC so far.
What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about your school?
How challenging the classes are and the price I pay for those classes. Many people think MCC has easy classes that cant compare to a University but I disagree. The classes are still challenging they just cost less than an actual University. I would not have done it any other way!
What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?
To be quite honest, there is nothing wrong with my school. Metropolitan is a great college it is affordable and has an amazing staff. The whole reason I am there is to get my generals done. Having to pay for my own college, with no financial help is very difficult, especially this coming fall when I will be attending University of Nebraska at Omaha. Metropolitan has giving me the wings and the will to carry on my education. I recommend any of the campus?s to anyone that wants to start building their career.
Temple is known for a lot of things, actually. They're one of the most tech-savvy school in the country, and they have high standards for their college admissions. They are very willing to help students get as much out of their experience at the school as possible. If you ask for help, they'll gladly get back to you asap, usually within 24-48 hours if you contact them by phone or email.
