Mississippi Valley State University is not a bad school at all. It is not quite the best either but for most students who attend, they tend to like it very much. I honestly do not believe Valley is a good school for me but I say this because I do not believe MVSU is a good school to attend if you are trying to go into certain programs, such as psychology. I want to major in Criminal Justice and minor in Psychology but Valley does not offer a psychology program.. but overall MVSU is a pretty decent school.

Mississippi Valley State University is a true and true historical black college or university, that offers all the necessities plus more. At valley you can relax with friends in the union, under the pavilion or at the cafe. Plus there are a full staff of bright and willing to help professors.

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

If I could go back in time and talk to myself as a high school senior, knowing what I do now about college life and making the transition, I would give myself very different advice than the actions I portrayed. I would have told myself to focus more and be prepared to be very indepent while being in college and handling my business on my own. College is very time consuming and it is up to the student to determine if he/she wants to either get a 4.0 or just barely pass every class. Its all about the effort you put into your work and how much your future means to you. These are the different words of advice I would have given to myself, had a known what I do about college now.

  10. Here's your chance: Say anything about your college!

Alot of students choose not to attend MVSU based on the fact that its so close to home or they've been exposed to the university so much that they want to engage in a new surrounding. Like all schools, MVSU does have some issues that the administration is aware of and are making great strides in changing the environment. Those same students go off and for whatever reasons after a year or two at another institution return home to MVSU to finish their degree or just to start over. Stop making MVSU your second choice when the university was at your disposal from the start.
