It seems to me to be a pretty average school, however I don't have much experience with other schools, so it's hard to say. I wasn't very invested in my own education when I was younger, so I didn't participate in much on campus, and I didn't have a great attendance record. Only later in life did I realize what a mistake that was.

Have not fully attended yet but I am excited, I have heard great things about the campus and life itself there. I am excited to meet new people and learn my teachers new teaching standards. Missouri Southern will be a step out of my comfort zone but from what I have heard I cannot wait.

MISSOURI SOUTHERN IS THE DEFINITION OF YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. IT ISNT BAD FOR THE CHEAP PRICE THAT EDUCATION IS OFFERED AT BUT IT IS ALSO SMALL. IF YOU WANT TO GO TO A SMALL SCHOOL IT IS THE PERFECT PLACE TO ABLE TO MAKE CLOSE FRIENDS THAT YOU SEE AT LEAST 3 TIMES A DAY. THE CAMPUS IS FILLED WITH NUMEROUS ACTIVITES AND FACITILITES THAT YOU CAN USE TO PASS YOUR TIME BETWEEN CLASSES. LAST BUT NOT LEAST PARKING IS FREE, IF THAT DOESNT MAKE YOU WANNA APPLY RIGHT NOW I DONT KNOW WHAT WILL.

I am currently I senior in high school planning to attend Missouri Southern State University starting this upcoming fall. I had a visit this last weekend and it was an amazing experience. I love the campus and everyone there is amazing. I took summer courses through them and never got meet my advisor in person. When I went on my visit just about every other person knew me by my name, even if I had never talked to them, which made me feel at home.

Missouri Southern State University FAQS

  1. What is the Acceptance Rate at Missouri Southern State University?

The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Missouri Southern State University is 94%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020 , _____ students were offered admission. The number of males who applied was _____ vs the number of females which was _____.

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

This is a fun question. In retrospect, I can say that I have made some really great decisions in the last few years. My choice of institution(s) for higher education, my decision to get married and start a family, and the determination to begin a career in management are all choices I consider to be balanced and right given the circumstances. I don't think I would want to go back and sway my high school self or influence his decisions in any way. That being said, I think the most useful counsel I could have heard would have been, "Everything will work out". In hindsight, I don't think I would have appreciated spoilers from my future self, but the assurance that, come hell or high water, everything will be okay....that would have been most welcome information as I faced the anxiety of the collegiate transition.

  4. What's unique about your campus?

The best thing about MSSU is that it gives me the skills lacking in an immigrant. I learn how to speak, how to communicate, and how to adapt to the local community.

  5. What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?

The worst thing about my school is the cost. Not so much the amount per credit hour, but all the fees that they charge that are extra, for things that aren't even used. If you don't live on campus, you shouldn't have to pay all the fees for the buildings that only on-campus students use. It isn't fair.

  6. What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about your school?

Missouri Southern was very familiar to me. The campus is easy to navigate, the professors are easy to reach, and the commute was comfortable for me. Opportunities for social activities, sporting events, and employment nicely complement the learning and academic focus of the institution.

  8. Describe your favorite campus traditions.

Missouri Southern is best known for mainly education. They strive on helping the average student to achieve an unaverage education. Even in all the campus extra activites that students participate in. Missouri Southern realizes that especially in the midwest you will not truley succeed without an education. Having and education can get you further in this town than working in the same job you have had since high school. just Hoping that someday you could move up in the company line. This subject is something that me as a student am most proud of in this economy.

  9. What's the most frustrating thing about your school?

Activities. MSSU lacks the ability and possibly the resources to plan fun and interesting activities for college students. All students do on weekends and even weekdays in drink and smoke pot, it is frustrating. I wish there were other things, on campus to do other than play basketball or volleyball, watch movies or go to the library. I also don't like that a lot of the advisors don't know what all the school offers, I got the run around last year on a class that I was trying to clep I ended up paying to take it twice.

  10. What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?

That the library is sort of out of date on a lot of subjects. Luckily they have a program where students can borrow library books from other colleges for free so that we can get up to date books. They also have connections to an online library where a lot of new books can be found.
