Moore is great for some. It's important to know that it is an extremely small school and it is a women-only school. It is also an expensive experience. However, it still seems like the perfect fit for some. If you like close-knit and personal learning environments, it's worth looking further into.

Because I went to the school over the summer for a pre-college art program, my experience with the school allowed me to have more insight on art and what an art portfolio might need to look like. The teachers provided support for us about our pieces and what needed improvement. The staff took us on weekly field trips and we got to know every student personally. Wecould trust one another and encourage each other to give 100% in everything we do. The experience is one I will never forget, and I would do it all again if I could.

I am currently a high school senior and visited Moore during an open house. When I first walked into Moore I felt it... I could see myself there. It just felt so right. The school is small so you will get to know most of the students. Even though Moore is a small school it is located in Philadelphia so there are many people to meet and places to go! For artists Philly is amazing! Moores class size is also small. You can really get to know your professors and many students still have relationships with them long after graduating. Moore has wonderful facilities. The school has all the newest equipment and the latest programs. I cant wait to go!

If you want professional, polite help with your finances or any advising DO NOT GO TO MOORE. The faculty is downright rude and snippy and unhelpful. They talk to students unprofessionally and talk down to us. Financial aid is a nightmare they don't tell you when anything is due and then add as many late fees as they please. Spend your money somewhere else. The student life leaves much to be desired- this is not a close knit accepting place- you conform and find a clique or be ostracized. Be warned. And good luck getting a knowledgeable professional professor. My percentage for good ones is about at 20%. Do not waste your money at this overpriced school, find one that is affordable, better social scene-acceptance, and better quality.

And last but not least, I would tell myself to take my time and think more about the major I wanted to get into because in high school I thought I wanted to get into Fashion Design and about 3 yrs later, I realized how much I wanted to get into Jewelry Design.

    The curriculum is very rigorous, and therefore very challenging, which is good if you want or need a challenge.

    My school is most known for its fashion and illustration majors. We have a fashion show every year, to begin with. When I graduate, I'll remember it most for its nurturing environment due its small and specialized classes. It's a college that takes you out of high school into new surroundings and makes you realize what really is and isn't important in life.

  9. What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?

    If I could engrain something into my past self, it would be pursue what you love and design your life in able to do so. Always attend to presentation, detail, and communication. Be responsible for things you have the power to change. Whether your agenda, clothing, or happiness, everything can be organized with optimal intent. Consider the time and energy of your work and be proud to go the extra mile to make it stand-alone. It's also important to voice your thoughts, they are valuable. Trust your ideas but never underestimate a person’s capacity to help.

  10. What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?

    Overall, I love my college, Moore College of Art and Design, but the worst thing about my college is their view on certain majors. For example, I am majoring in photography and digital arts. On Moore's website every major, but photography, such as illustration or fashion design, has a list of jobs that Moore Graduates have worked and/or still work at. Photography, my dream, is the only major that does not have one of those 'lists'. It makes me feel as if their photography program is not as 'up to par' with the other majors offered.

  11. What's unique about your campus?

    My school is very liberal in the sense that they allow us to explore art in a well guided way. We are allowed to express ourselves in our work, as a matter of fact, it is highly encouraged. I believe that this allowed me to find my love of mixed media in my art.
