Morehouse College has been very interesting experience and a very inspirational one as well. I remember learning about the brotherhood of that community and it was quite inspiring. The campus is very beautiful having a number of murals as well as beautiful buildings where students go to learn about black history as well as the major courses. The food options there were also super cool to see the cafeteria was huge and it was honestly amazing. Morehouse college definitely stood out to me primarily in it's community and the reality that it is built off of. Everyone at Morehouse college along with spellman and even Clark Atlanta views one another as family and it just makes the experience of attending and even being in the presence of the schools so much more fulfilling. Overall Morehouse college along with the community is very beautiful and truly an unforgettable experience.

I attend the illustrious Morehouse College in Atlanta, and my choice is exciting. As most people know, Morehouse is a historically black college, meaning that the history is preserved as much as it can be. With preserving history comes its ups and downs, of course, making Morehouse a choice one must quizzically ponder upon. Due to the cultural importance of Morhouse’s history, most of the buildings and dorms are the same as they were when they were first constructed. There have been little to no improvements to the dorms, and there is always a problem arising, making the college’s age evident. This issue also reaches into the realm of the cafeteria. The food is okay at best, and they are inconsistent occasionally when about the times they open and close for the day. Now without those few negatives, Morehouse is an outstanding college. One reason is the small class size. Morehouse only has about four thousand students, so classes may be as small as ten people sometimes. This allows students to develop relations with their teachers, and grow into a space where they are comfortable to learn. Another effect of the small class size is that everyone knows everyone. It mimics a small town almost, where someone can see the same person every day of the week without becoming any wiser of their name. It is honestly such a soothing underappreciation, feeling natural on a campus like Morehouse. Morehouse’s teachers are all, for the most part, really understanding and great. From my experience, they all want their students to learn and pass. Often sticking their necks out, and being extremely accessible to students, aiding them whenever the desire is present. Overall I would rate Morehouse College a 4.1 out of 5 due to how amazing it allows its students to feel.

Very nice university. Teaches male students to hold themselves to a higher standard and elegance. Many great people that helped influence the times came from this school such as Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. All in all a very great school and most men especially black men should attend.

My opinion on Morehouse. I think that Morehouse is a very good school it's somewhere that people's dreams come into florision. It's home to many different types of people and many different kinds of dreams. I'm glad to say that it'll also be my home this fall.

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

To my high school self, here are some words of advice. First, know what you are going to major in. It is obvious, but the sooner you realize this, the more motivation you will have. Next, procrastination is a disease, vaccinate yourself immediately. A lot of stress can be avoided if you get the work done ahead of time. Cramming is not efficient. Instead, you will be wishing you had studied sooner when you realize you could have aced a test with a few more days preparation. Learn how to prioritize, it makes organizing a lot easier when assignments and activities begin to pile up. Skip the club that night if you have a deadline approaching, trust me there will be plenty more opportunities. Be social, you can make new friends and network to make future connections, but stay true to your values. When you choose friends, choose ones that you can trust and support each others ideas. Also, avoid debt at all costs, its no fun owing money before you start you career. Most importantly, enjoy the experience. There were will be trying days, but remember you are there to make a life yourself and your family.

  3. Describe the students at your school.

My classmates are like no other. The men I am proud to attend this institution with are the most diverse males on this Earth. Hailing from almost all 50 states as well as nations like the Bahamas and Haiti, we possess varying backgrounds that have established in us certain morals and values. This withstanding, I have yet to meet anyone who does not respect the opinions of others. This will be the one place where you see men of color intellectually speaking and realizing this is our start to being the movers and shakers of our time.

  5. What's unique about your campus?

I Love how the students here get together in study groups and try very hard to help each other out with their studies. Sometimes it gets hard but I keep working. I like the hours of the cafeteria which allows those of us that have early or late classes to still get a good meal. I like the way that problems are handle in the dorms. I am grateful for the workstudy program because it allows me to have a little cash in my pocket and that helps out for washing my cloths and getting my other personal items.

  7. What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about your school?

When I tell my friends about my school, I brag most about the fact that Morehouse is a Historically Black College & University. I proclaim this the most because I personally feel that I have been granted such a strong support system from people of my own race within the administration of Morehouse College. In addition, I established a great appreciation for the culturally-enhanced welcoming ceremonies for freshmen that were presented by an array of members of the Morehouse Family during New Student Orientation Week. These ceremonies enhanced my knowledge of our African roots and encouraged me to dream bigger.

  11. What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?

What I wish I had known before coming to Morehouse College would have been the relationship between professors and their students. They reach out to assist anyone in need but you have to grow up and speak up to your professors because if you do not show you are serious about your grades or that you need help they cannot reach out to you unless you reach out to them first

  12. What's the most frustrating thing about your school?

The most fustrating thig about Morehouse College is simply having the finaces to pay for school. Being that morehouse is a private school it qute hard to get maximum funding from the Military or the government. So for an African American like my self who has little to no family that can afford to help fund my schooling, I belive its quite fustrating. Exspecailly when your heart is set on going to school.

  14. What are the academics like at your school?

Its sort of like tought love. Every teacher cares about you and pushes you to the limits because they care. I have the numbers and emails of all of my professors and know each one of them to some degree or another. Students here are highly competitive but it pushes all of us to be great. Mays told us to be so good that no man living, dead, or ever to be bron can do it better. That is the foundation of our academics and our response to it will determine how high the elavators of our skyscrapers will go.

  18. What is your overall opinion of this school?

In the big picture Morehouse is Morehouse. Like any school where the experiences are unique to your setting, it is hard to explain to outsiders. When we speak of "Club Woody" or "Hump Wednesday" or Crown Forum, others just dont understand. I have grown so much from the time I arrived here. I was told, "You wont get this experience anywhere else and I believe that." I love this place more than anything in the world and I would do anything to help it keep its name. I find myself growing attached to it when I am not with it. I find myself noticing things I didn't notice about it before on a daily basis. I find myself becoming a part of it just as much as it has become a a part of me. I find myself at Morehouse because I find Morehouse in me!
