What's your overall opinion of New England College?

Although not my first option for college, I will say that I absolutely love it here. It's perfect if you want something on the smaller side, however its not so small that you can't find a group of people to call friends! The campus itself is super pretty with plenty of nature walks, with free access to the local ski resort as a student. Unfortunately it isn't the cheapest, and because of the location being in such a small town, we have some local areas for food and other necessities but the closest chain marts and restaurants are a 20 minute drive. Professors here are great, I have yet to run into any problems. Activities are always being planned outside the classroom that don't just involve sports! Things the DIY sessions or fun group games or hangouts are happening all the time. Housing is comfortable as well.

Great school to attend. They have online classes to offer as well. The thing I did notice is that the professor that was assigned to me is very respectful and willing to aid the students. I do like how to curriculum is set up and they also use videos in some courses, and I thought that this is very effective method to learn more quickly.

Kaleb - 02/14/2020

I applied for New England College for the fall 2020 for business administration. They excepted me with a scholarship of 32k per year because of my academics in high school . The schools a little price if you stay on the campus but it would make my life easier if I do. maybe this 1,000 could help me stay in campus. My overall opinion is the school is beautiful with so much nature and life to the school. its a place where I can study and get my degree and work for my collage payments. I've been wanting to go hear even if it is a little out of my budget I would love to try.

New England College is an interesting school to say the least. It was nothing like my high school teachers said college would be like. It is located in Henniker New Hampshire, a small town, 20 minutes outside of concord. The town itself, does not over much, there are a couple pizza places, a coffee shop, Chinese food, the regular things to expect in a small town, for more options, you will need a car. But enough about the geography. The college itself has small almost high school sized classes, where you can interact with the teachers and students, ask questions, and even get extra help, the library is open late, and there is a tutoring center where you can make meetings to get through your classes. The campus has a lot of events always going on, and cares about diversity. Overall it is a great place to learn. That isn’t to say is all pluses and smiles here. There are downsides, the off campus living options are not great, and the town will get boring fast, sometimes you have to hunt down parking, and the dining hall food can feel repetitive fast. There is nothing particularly bad about the college that cannot be attributed to any college. Most students will always find something to complain about, the dorms, the food, their neighbors, but these complaints can be found anywhere. The benefits of the school seem nice enough to me though, being able to get help and advice from teachers is a huge benefit, the free skiing at nearby pats peak interests a lot of people, and the New Hampshire scenery really is nice. Overall, I would rate the school a 4/5. Its good place to learn, and in a beautiful location, but it comes with its own challenges and risks, that vary from person to person.

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

Dear 15 year-old self, The day you stepped in your high school was the day you promised yourself that you would do everything in your power to make the best of your high school experience. You vowed to yourself that you would have no regrets as you walked to the podium to accept your diploma. You tried new things, met new people, made many friends and along the way, developed into an intelligent, independent and beautiful person. But, you missed one very important thing. You're worth is not determined by who or how many people are around you but rather it is determined by the quality of person that you are. Never let anyone influence your decisions and never put your self-worth on the back burner for others. I promise one day you'll figure it out. It is said that experience is the best teacher and that as life goes on, clarity will come to what is important and what is not. With much love, Your 20 year-old self

  3. What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?

The worst thing I consider about my school is the heating. In the winter months of New Englanad it gets very cold and coming into a warm building would make going to class so much easier. Sitting in class rooms that are freezing does not make the learning enviroment anymore comfortable. If the classrooms were warmer students would be more inclinded to come to every class and would have a more comfortable time learning.

  4. What's the most frustrating thing about your school?

The most frustrating thing about school is being away from home. Since I’m from Philly, I’m not use to a lot of people and in Henniker, New Hampshire, it’s different. Here in Henniker, it’s hard to adjust to a very small community. The air is fresher, the people are nicer. Being away from my family is hard enough and then there is college homework that gets over whelming at times. Everything changes once you get into college computer homework. Just because I’m a young adult, teachers imply that I know how to work a computer.
