It is one of the best colleges especially for those who seek an undergraduate focused education with plentiful opportunities. As a premed student who has looked into many schools and arrived at the decision of dartmouth, the level of personalization and care is unprecedented.

Dartmouth is an incredible learning institution and students receive a great education. It is extremely rural and is hours away from a metropolitan city (the closest is Boston 2.5 hours away), which is not for everyone. Despite that, there are a million ways to be engaged on campus regardless of your interests because students are very proactive in creating and planning events. Greek life is strong and active at Dartmouth, but as someone who is not interested in that scene, I still feel connected to my peers and am welcomed in the Greek life space if I wanted to be involved.

At Dartmouth College, you receive a world-class college education while immersed in an incredible community of culturally diverse people. As a small school, I think that community is Dartmouth's biggest value. The design of Dartmouth's educational track allows you to take your education into your own hands and leaves you room to explore your interests.

Overall, Dartmouth College is a nice sized campus and they take extreme pride in their school. I'm confident that my academic will live up to the standards because of the amazing programs they have. I'm excited for this upcoming school year and so far I'm impressed.

I love Dartmouth for the opportunities it provided for me, and for the academic excellence it boasts that I always have as a strong point on my resume. The resources available to students are vast and endless, if you just go out and look for them. However, I think the prestige of the school can sometimes go to the heads of the professors who focus more on prestige and difficulty rather than student understanding and retention of knowledge. In addition to boasting renowned academics, Dartmouth is incredibly prestigious in all areas, which can feel belittling to the few of us that come from poorer socioeconomic backgrounds and aren't privileged to the 9th degree. In short, go for the academics and the opportunities, be ready for wealth like you've never seen it and the sheltered sometimes ignorant people that go with it.

Dartmouth College is an amazing school that offers prestige education while being surrounded by a one-of-a-kind community. There is something there for everyone. The smaller class sizes allow you to get to know your professors and interact with your classmates better. Looking to meet new members within your house, there are socials and events to unite everyone. The sense of unity and family can only be found here at the college on the hill.

I overall think that Dartmouth is a great place to go to school. I have been able to find a community here on campus and understand a little bit more about how to become more independent. I think that there are times where classes and exams are unnecessarily difficult and could be toned down a little bit, but I understand that Dartmouth wants to challenge their students. The food has been surprisingly pleasant, as I have found myself actually missing some of the staples while home on break. All in all, I am happy with my experience and would choose Dartmouth all over again if I had the chance.

Dartmouth isn't right for everyone, but when it's right, it's incredible. Academically, Dartmouth caters to those who manage their time, work hard, and have a genuine interest in learning. Professors guide you and support you, but they certainly do not make it easy for you. Dartmouth is right for those who are excited to work, and wrong for those who just want to sleep in and watch TV. However, working hard doesn't preclude you from having a social life. Dartmouth has a huge going out culture that largely circles around Greek life. Just as depicted in Animal House, every Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday, people flock to Webster ave- i.e. frat row. Social life at Dartmouth includes a heavy and perhaps unhealthy binge-drinking culture and a work hard play hard attitude. Dartmouth is right for those excited to spend time with their friends and let loose a little, and wrong for those who would rather work through the night, every night. But even for those uncomfortable with this drinking culture, Dartmouth provides other social spaces. Hanover, New Hampshire offers the most amazing opportunities to explore nature, with incredible hikes, rivers, and ski mountains. The Dartmouth Outing Club provides numerous opportunities to get into nature, ranging from beginner to expert levels. Dartmouth is right for those who love the outdoors, and wrong for those who love city life. Dartmouth isn't right for everyone, but when it's right, it is truly the most incredible place to spend four years of your life.

Dartmouth college is a small town ivy league school located in Hanover, New Hampshire. Hanover is small and is really more of a college town with its campus being as big as the town. The campus its self is small and has a homey feel most colleges don't have. And the look of the campus is really nostalgic. Through the spring and fall the campus shows its true beauty through its wide array of foliage. Thinking about there teaching and staff they are superb they cater to the students needs and they really want the students to learn and have the best chance to become proficient in the field of study. The Greek life on campus is huge 70 percent of the student body is enrolled into a fraternity or sorority. Because of the large number of students that are apart of Greek life on campus there tend to be parties quite often. On the other hand the students are not allowed to be accepted into a fraternity or sorority in the beginning of there freshman year. There sports are big on campus. Whether it be at the collegiate level, intramural, or just playing games on the green. The Dartmouth community loves there activities. The biggest thing about the campus is the amount of student involvement. The student body participates in everything. From there museum to hosting a ted X it is run by college students. Dartmouth is a college of exceptional students in the class and out of the class and Dartmouth is there to help them blossom.

Dartmouth College is a place filled with special people. With its numerous traditions, the college creates a strong sense of community and belonging. Although located in a rural area, events, lectures, talks, and shows are a regular part of students' lifestyles. Professors engage students both in and outside of class, and not only provide help but build personal relationships. While the long dark days of the winter often leave students fatigued, the community spirit and continuous social life burn them from the inside.

Dartmouth's cool, the frat life is so cult-y tho. I love the students that i meet here, everyone is always so interested in something which is fun to always hear about! The first generation students scene is nice to have, especially when a lot of your classes may have a certain makeup!

Dartmouth College has been an incredible experience this past term. Being a Latin American student and first-generation American, I was quite afraid that I would not find a community I could call my own on campus. Surprisingly, I discovered how much I had underestimated the vibrant, diverse, and exciting individuals in and out of the classroom. I can always expect to find someone to share a word with or exchange pleasant conversations. Besides the community, the professors here are true authorities in their field of study, and are always available to discuss their latest research topics or clarify any difficulties encountered in the coursework!

I had a fantastic time at Dartmouth College. My experience was extremely satisfactory in the classroom and outside of the classroom. In the classroom, I thought that students were extremely intelligent and professors were for the most part engaging. Although students were quite intelligent there was a culture of people not showing it off. This had its pros that it was a collaborative environment instead of a cut-throat environment. But the con was that students sometimes tried a bit too hard to act like they did not care about academics.

I love it! We are a very rural and tight-knit community. The very cozy and cooperative atmosphere encourages students to really get to know each other, explaining our high alumni loyalty. We are also a school big on sports, around one in four students are an athlete.

What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
When trying to find the right college, try to keep in mind what you want out of a college, and make sure the college you attend is strong in that area (whether it is sports, academics, a sense of community, activities, etc.). When you visit the college, make sure you feel comfortable there, and could see yourself happy for the next few years there. To get the best sense of what the college is like stay overnight with a student; sample the classes, the night life, and the weekend activities.
To make the most of your college experience make sure everything you do is something you love, or at least helps you get to something you love (ex: a class that you hate but you need for a major that you love). Meet new people, but stay close with the friends that you have both from home and the ones you've already made in college. Talk to professors and other studnets if you need help. Be open to trying everything at least once.
I'm the last heir from a very distinguished family from India. I like posting thoughts on the World Wide Web. My interests include Culinary Arts, Economics, Movies, and Christianity. Dartmouth College was a good fit for me. The school is neo-classical and gives people like me an opportunity to question aspirations. My college major was Cognitive Science which is interdisciplinary (Math, Psychology, Computer Science, Neurobiology).
If I won the lottery, I would donate a sum to Dartmouth College, because I am grateful for the education gained, the friendship memories, and the interest in American politics and life I acquired.
Dartmouth College is a small school with a personal community that thrives on intellectual curiosity and service. Its student party scene is thrilling if managed properly. The campus itself is very scenic (and the food is great).
Is the stereotype of students at your school accurate?
The stereotype is accurate. The problem is that the campus is isolated so wealthy students find it a place to vent frustrations by drinking alcohol. If punishments became too severe, students may turn to harder narcotics. The only solution is to foster inter-fraternity joint-student activities like multi-house parties/festivals.
The English, Psychology, Economics, Anthropology, and Education departments are very good. The professors are happy to work with students personally rather than distribute authority to graduate students and teaching assistants. The class sizes are small, making this advantageous.
What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?
The worst thing about Dartmouth College would be the lack of diversity, meaning the very small number of black students who self identify as black that attend this school. There is also not many, if at all, activities that Black students like to do. THe culture of Dartmouth is predominatly white or centered around white culture.
What are the most popular student activities/groups?
The Fraternity scene is huge. The social scene is dominated by it. Student Activities are almost completely overshadowed by the Fraternities, though there is some modest gain in (somewhat related branches) sports, school newspapers, and music groups.
What's the most frustrating thing about your school?
The location would be the most fustrating aspect of Dartmouth College. In general it is extremely hard to find things you need or get to larger cities because of the lack of transportation provided by the college. Also, during the winter it is near impossible to leave the campus because of the poor quality of the roads surroudning the campus and the extreme amounts of snow and ice we recieve during the winters.
What is the stereotype of students at your school? Is this stereotype accurate?
The fraternity scene is a large part of the Dartmouth social scene and there is a lot of drinking. Pong is not just a game, it is a culture, a way of life. However, there is no one who will force you to drink.
All students must apply yearly for financial aid. This process starts with the FAFSA.
Though financial aid deadlines vary by school, it is a good idea to apply as soon as possible. For the upcoming school year, you can apply as early as October 1 for the FAFSA. Additional school aid will be dependent on the FAFSA results.
