I really love the college! It has my desired degree plan and the professors & staff are very nice people.
I highly recommend this college if you're pursuing a Liberal Arts degree because there are so many different options compared to the ones here in Texas.

I attended SNHU online and had a great experience. The professors were easy to get in touch with and quick to respond to questions. The cost was one of the lowest that I found. My admissions advisor was amazing! She made everything super easy, answered questions, and called and checked in with me on a regular basis.

I have really enjoyed my time so far at Southern New Hampshire University. It has been nearly 15 years since I last participated in any college courses and I was extremely nervous about beginning again, but Southern New Hampshire University placed me with an advisor named Becky who really made all the difference and really made me feel as though I was her only student. She helped me transition from being a stay at home, single mother of three daughters to a college student, slowly working my way to the degree I've always dreamed of earning. I cannot recommend this college enough!

Big but cozy. A lot of deep and intelligent conversations. Group Activities are available and band and dance practices are open to the public. Overall I'd say it's a well rounded establishment. Even though I take my classes online and not on campus. I get the feeling that the campus as a whole unit is pretty dope.
Skylar - 11/15/2023

What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
Take more chances. Don't follow what everyone else is doing. Follow your own path and stick to gut. Listen to those who been there before. Learn from there mistakes and succuses.
Most importantly never bring your self down, there is a tone of people in the world that want to bring you done. Its your job to keep your head high, its there job to bring it down.
What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?
I am an online student, so I'm not getting the campus experience. However, I cannot think of anything negative about my school. We have our own social media page with tons of students on it and there is literally no complaning. I love SNHU!
I feel the extra cirricular activities are the best thing because you learn how to better yourself as a person and how to expand your resume outside of your jobs and academic career. It gives you skills you can't learn in the classroom.
Here's your chance: Say anything about your college!
SNHU offers both my undergraduate and graduate programs in Classical History and Philology as online degrees. Finding online colleges that offer more than basic history degrees is nearly impossible. I have been attending online classes for several years and have tried several different majors. I have attended the University of Phoenix, Ashford University, and American Public University System as well. Due to permanent disabilities, I cannot attend a physical campus. Online attendance allows me to proceed at my own pace, although that can be a flaw as sometimes I procrastinate sometimes.
Our school is most known for being a small, close-knit community. Everyone on campus has seen or talked to the majority of other students and that way you dont get lost in the crowd. Also, we have a wide range of ethnicities that go here.
Someone who wants a good academic experience without it being overly challenging. Someone likes a smaller, less busy and crowded environment. It's a bit difficult to find people who don't want to spend their weekends at parties, but we're here.
What kind of person should not attend this school?
A person that is not out going would have a difficult time making friends at this school. Students are very friendly and will approach other students in their classes even if they do not know them. Also students that are constantly studying and need a quiet campus would have a difficult time studying on this campus because people are constantly hanging around outside making noise.
SNHU recently became the National Soccer Champions for 2013, they have a great soccer program, they also have a diverse amount of students from all nationalities which makes it appealing in a small town like Manchester.
I am currently not attending the school as I am graduating from NHTI and transferring over in the fall of 2015. However, I have known many students who did attend this school and they have shared their stories with me. From what I understand, it is a low student ratio which personalizes the class towards students and gives them that experience for the professor to cater the need of learning that students hope for student.
We have three sororities and fraternities on campus. The three fraternities and sororities consist of one nationally recognized sorority and fraternity and two local sororities and fraternities. The national sorority is Kappa Chi, while the fraternity is Kappa Delta Phi. One of the local sororities is Phi Delta Beta, while their brothers are Phi Delta Theta. And the last local sorority is Phi Omega Psi, and the fraternity is Phi Delta Psi. I joined a sorority my first semester of freshmen year and it was the best choice I've ever made for myself. You get the opportunity to meet some amazing people and there are plenty of sororities/fraternities to see which one is the best fit for you as each organization has their own unique personality to go along with it. Greek life at SNHU also likes to focus on community, working together, and philanthropy.Southern New Hampshire University also has a no-hazing policy so you don't have to worry about anything from the movies you've seen actually happening in real life. I definitely recommend looking into greek life no matter if you're an incoming freshmen, transfer student, or current student at SNHU!
Where is the best place to get work done on campus?
Dorms are great, but Shapiro Library is amazing! It has a Starbucks cafe right on the first floor (and yes, you can use your meal plan money there!). On the second floor is the Learning Commons where tutors are located or you can go in and request personal, one-on-one sessions if you prefer that as well! The third floor has a quiet/no-talking zone if you really need to focus. My favorite place within the library are the private work rooms. You do have to book them ahead of time online, but it's all worth it. They're the perfect place to do work with friends while still being away from everyone else, allowing you better focus on your work.
