I would its a school thats located in a nicely nestled area with lost of oppertunites to engage in spiritual growth and allows one to partake in comunity driven and cooperative activites. The only downside of this school is most events happen late at night which is not easy especially when you one has classes during those times or the even is held on a non sunny day.

Originally I was hesitant to go to NNU, but due to the financial aid that was offered it was the best choice. The thing that stood out to me was how much the professors seemed to care. When I was struggling in my classes the professors worked with me and were super encouraging which made me feel like I could do it.

I really enjoy being at Northwest Nazarene University and I love how the class room settings are smaller so that I could actually have a real conversation with my peers and professors. NNU is very involved in politics when it comes to their campus ministry especially this year, which I believe they should not do because no matter what politics brings division and we are to unify each other. I enjoy the people at NNU and I love the community that I have on campus.

I am currently attending NNU and I absolutely love it. The academics are great and my professors are constantly pushing us while also being there and understanding as well. If you are looking for a great Christian community while obtaining a great education I would highly suggest looking into NNU.

NNU is a good university that has mostly small class sizes, which is nice. It is a Christian University which means you would expect the classes to be taught from a Biblical perspective. They do a good job of that, for the most part. It is an expensive university and I hope that the education I will receive will show the investment.

A great school if you are looking for a smaller university with professors who care. I especially recommend if you are interested in music, art, or nursing. A welcoming small environment with a community centered around faith, growth, fellowship and knowledge!

Northwest Nazarene University is the perfect school for me and anyone looking for a small close-knit university. NNU advertises itself as an upholder of the community and it does it well! The community life at NNU is amazing! People go out of their way to include you, in the cafeteria, in the clubs, at events, and in classes. Speaking of events, they are out of this world! There is an event at least once every week, and during week one there is an event every night. If you choose to attend be prepared to make life-long friends and lots of them! Even the professors got out of the way to get to know you. They clearly care about our success. I love my NNU community and can't imagine not being a part of it.

Overall I love the campus life at Northwest Nazarene University. I live on campus and the dorms are kept up nicely. We actually have a new dorm in the process of being built. The facilities, in general, are all great! We have a new student union building also being built. Apart from the looks of the campus, the atmosphere here is great. Everyone is so friendly and genuinely care for others. If you are looking for a God-centered community, I would definitely look into NNU. The academics are also great. With smaller classes, you really feel cared for. The professors seek to know their students and want you to succeed. You are not just a number to them. This school is challenging academically, but rewarding. I would recommend NNU to anyone.

It really is amazing! I was uncertain of how easy it would be to become integrated into the community because private Christian schools can often be a tossup with cliques and such, but nothing at NNU is like that! Everyone is so welcoming, kind, and eager to make you feel included! I am so impressed by the Student Government Association--they are always putting on events and making it easy to meet new people and get involved in campus life (even if you don't live on campus). And the academics are exemplary and a lot of our programs have a really high-ranking reputation throughout the Northwest, if not the entire country. I highly encourage any and all interested in education to look into NNU! This place really is just what I was looking for in a private school--community, academics, and opportunity!

As a current student and alumnus, my opinion of NNU is that they are an amazing university where the staff is very caring and helpful. This is hands down the best university/college I have attended. I would highly recommend Northwest Nazarene University to anyone who is wanting the best education.

The community at NNU is welcoming and involving, providing a lot of opportunities to bond with fellow students outside of class. The professors are always willing to help if you need it, even if it is with issues outside of their class. The students are usually welcoming to discussion about a variety of topics, from their classwork to the outside world. There is a bit of religious practice on campus, but in no way is religion forced upon the students. All religious belief sets are welcomed on campus, but they could be challenged by certain topics in some classes. Overall, if someone is looking for an academically-rigorous study, this would be the place to go.

Northwest Nazarene University, or NNU, is a safe school. The atmosphere is very friendly, if not a bit religious. There seems to be many clubs and activities to join. With great academics, variety of students, and small class sizes, NNU is the place to be for a fresh-out-of-high-school experience.
Lauren
I love NNU, it is a really great place to be, the community is fun, loving. The food is okay, it is not the best but sometimes the food is really good. The professors are always available to talk to, they are fast to respond to emails. The professors are the ones who teach the classes and they will tell you if there won't be class ahead of time.
Sarah
Northwest Nazarene has a great community feel. The Professors are very nice, encouraging, and helpful. Most students are friendly and fun to be around. Most people say their favorite thing about NNU is the community.
NNU also puts a huge emphasis on women's volleyball and men's basketball. We have intramural, which are very fun to participate in and watch.
Each department is like a big family. For example, I am a Graphic Design Major, therefore I am in the art department. The art department has meetings and parties to get to now everyone else within our department, the five adults and the students who I have met so far in the art department are very much worth getting to know.
Emma
This is a wonderful community to be a part of and I love the amount of support that I receive from all of the staff and my fellow students. It is a campus that I am able to be myself in and that is truly wonderful. The classes are amazing and the professors really care about how I am doing both in my studies and in my life.
The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Northwest Nazarene University is 95%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020, _____ students were offered admission.
What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
I would tell my younger self this:
"Grades are very important. Mom and Dad tell you to focus on your studies for a reason. Do not screw around and put things off. You are just going to regret it, in the end. Get all your homework done first, before hanging out with your friends. Do not put your friends before your schoolwork because you are for an education. Friends are great, and the ones you make at college will stay with you forever, but do not go looking for drama to start up. Just do your work, hang out with your friends, and go to bed at a decent time. Also, go to the gym! You will gain weight, and you will hate it! Go to the gym, and work out before you gain too much weight. Remember those four things, and you will be set."
What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about your school?
I tell all my friends back home about the clean air quality, the snow, and the mountains. Back in my hometown, Bakersfield, California, these are three things you hardly see, if ever. It never snows. The air quality is awful, and you can hardly ever see the mountains. Up here in Idaho, it's very pretty here.
What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?
Since Nothwest Nazarene Universtiy is a privite institution, the tuition cost is higher than average. As a result, much of my tution is paid for with student loans. Though I am fortunate enough to receive some money through scholarships and grants, the rest must be paid with loans
Someone seeking a great education with professors and staff members who truly do care. A school full of school spirit and pride for our sports and what we stand for as a school. A close knit campus where there is never a dull moment.
What's the most frustrating thing about your school?
Like every other thing, this university has its things, that i dont agree with, we have fines for strict rules. We have curfew, and if your late you get fined, or if you dont get on time to your wing meeting, which we have every tuesday, we get fined. I understand the fact that we should get wing meeting, but they should understand that we have things to do.
Here's your chance: Say anything about your college!
The students are more friendly and share a closer friendship with each other. Proffessors will go out of their way to help students succeed in the classes they are taking. Even the students are willing to help each other to succeed in school.
The best thing is the community aspect. The smaller size of the school and religious aspect seemed to make it easier to intereact with most people on campus and even to explore different ideas within the community.
All students must apply yearly for financial aid. This process starts with the FAFSA.
Though financial aid deadlines vary by school, it is a good idea to apply as soon as possible. For the upcoming school year, you can apply as early as October 1 for the FAFSA. Additional school aid will be dependent on the FAFSA results.
