In my opinion, Richland Community College is a really nice campus. The first thing that I loved about it was the fact that it has it's own pond with water fountains and bridges to walk across! The pond is full of turtles and geese! Obviously, I am an animal and nature lover! I have also been quite impressed with my professors at Richland Campus. My history professor was an amazing woman and really opened my eyes to how fascinating History really is! If you or someone you know is interested in Theatre or a Theatre Major, I highly recommend this campus! The professors are phenomenal, work with you outside of class, push you to gain as much experience as possible, and are overall just very caring of their students education! This is definitely an amazing campus and I hope you look into checking it out!

Richland College offers a great environment for first-time college students. It opens your eyes to how it is to be a college student on campus. I think this college offered me a lot of valuable information that will help me transfer to a 4-year university. It showed me the way classes work. The clubs at Richland College were amazing and I met friendly people. It was a diverse college that represented many cultures during special events. I enjoyed attending!

Richland College has been such a good experience for me so far even if it is just a 2 year institution. It is very safe environment where ever you choose to study or just hang out with friends. Everyone is there to just study that is the main focus and the Professors are so good and easy to reach almost all of the time. They will answer an email in a day or two and they also always have office hours or will set up a meeting with you.

Having gone to a different college before attending Richland College and comparing both schools, I can honestly say that Richland College is unique. During the last two years that I have attended, I have noticed a great inviting atmosphere, the staff is always helpful, they are also friendly and respectful. Earning my degree at Richland College has been a pleasure. Thank you for your consideration.

It’s a great 2 year college to attend. Professors are really nice and communicative. The few courses I have taken, both online and on campus, are pretty self explanatory and know what my expectations for the course are. If you put in the effort and dedication, you will pass.

Richland College Music advisors place students into dozens of credit hours that are not on degree plans. Students may exhaust their financial aid and when transferring be charged out of state tuition. Texas law lets state universities charge students out of state tuition if they are more than 30 hours over the hours on their degree plan. Richland students should take only the 60 credit hours for an Associate's degree as only 60-69 hours will transfer. But, Derrick Logozzo (Music Department Chair) and Melissa Logan are filling chairs. Many of their advising victims have 100-161 credit hours and no degree as they are putting students into dozens of music hours that will not transfer and not putting them in the core classes that every degree requires. Your tax dollars at waste and students academic careers ended by advisors filling their own classes.

I love this school, the campus is nicely maintained and very clean. It is smoking free which is a plus. Staff is friendly and always helps point you in the right direction. they have some cool spaces where you can relax and wait for your next class to begin. The study halls are also really nice and kept quiet

Its pretty great here actually. I mean its a community college so the campus ends up dead by 5pm but the professors are good and that my priority. The events that are held for holidays are surprisingly fun and entertaining. Just keep your head in the game and you'll be fine.

I enjoy Richland beause it is close to home and I do not want to love on campus. My siblings all went here so they were able to tell me what teachers to take. Most teachers are very fair and nice but there are always the few exceptions that want students to fail. However, I would rate Richland College a 5/5.

Richland is one of the most interesting places I have ever been. The diversity on campus exemplifies what the college as a whole stands for. The diversity of age and culture create such an interesting atmosphere. You will constantly be learning something new about a different culture. Though it is only a community college the professors hold students to high standards and expect the best from every single individual. My experience at Richland has shaped who I am as a person.

I just finished all the credits I need for an associates degree and I am transferring to a university soon. All the professors I've had were all great. I really love the campus and I think it has a great location. Class sizes are usually small which is really helpful because professors are available for more personalized help. Overall, I really love this campus.

Richland College has an amazing campus and and many must see views. It has a waterway that goes through the college and it is beautiful. There’s many friendly animals that surround the campus. The study hall there is quiet and calm so it’s easy to focus. The fitness center there is friendly and clean. Overall Richland College is a good college.

I have taken dual credit classes. It is okay, the staff are very helpful and friendly and the campus is very clean and accessible. It's best to read the reviews on the instructors before signing up for any classes. My last semester I had a great teacher, this semester is the worst teacher ever. I didn't know about reviews until a few months ago. This teacher is a 1. I also plan to review after the semester has been completed.

Richland College is a staple of Dallas in the Dallas County Community College District (DCCCD). It is known for being exceptionally well-versed in providing cheaper classes that are undoubtedly on par with common courses at big Universities. The courses are challenging and there is a great variety and dedicated counselors on hand whenever they are needed in order to guide students in the right direction regarding profession and available course options. The professors are all in and live to see their students succeed.
Since it is a community college there is no on-site housing available, but most students who attend live in the Dallas area anyway and take advantage of the D.A.R.T. pass student discount offered by the district. There are plenty of food places and apartments nearby, as well.
I am constantly receiving emails from the DCCCD about extracurricular activities and even numerous tutoring opportunities on campus. Also, while on campus, I often encounter tables set up for voting and for clubs and social events ongoing and upcoming. There is such a span for community involvement, and it's nice to know that whenever I want to get involved, I can.
The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Richland College is 100%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020, _____ students were offered admission.
What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
If I could go back in time, I would not rush into a career and finish my 4 year degree. I would take advantage of my opportunities as a student and enjoy life in my thirties other than return to finish what should have been done by the age of 21.
Describe how your school looks to someone who's never seen it.
Richland College has provided a very pleasant school experience so far. Being a community college and having an Associate's Degree Program, it provides the availability for any kind of student of any age or ethnicity. The teachers are very helpful, understanding, and truly want you to succeed in your career goals. It has helped me transition greatly and I highly recommend it to any future college student who does not want to go straight to a university.
What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?
I wish that I knew how to manage my time more effectively. College work is a lot more demanding than high school work, and if I had better time management skills, I believe my grades would be better than they currently are now.
Richland is best known for being a community college. It is very popular among people within the Dallas area. There are many classes offered and not one area of syudy is prominent over the others. It is a great way to get two years of schooling at a low cost.
In going to this college a person must be looking to achieve getting their associates degree at low tuition pricing. An adequate student for Richland College must have the motivation to complete all of their basic required courses before transferring to a university to get a bachelors degree and major. This school is full of a diverse collection of people at different intelligence levels so being a community college it is very accepting of everyone that applies.
What kind of person should not attend this school?
The kind of person that should not attend this school is not a valid question for community colleges. These colleges are designed to give aid to anybody who needs, whether it be finacial or purely academic, this college is made for people to be successful and will help you to make it. If I were to pick a person not to come here, it would be someone who already is in good academic standing and has all the money they need and allow for the people that need that help there get it.
What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about your school?
I brag about how wonderful the teachers are. Every teacher that I've had so far has seemed genuinely committed to helping their students to achieve their dreams. The schedules are also very flexible and work well with my work schedule.
All students must apply yearly for financial aid. This process starts with the FAFSA.
Though financial aid deadlines vary by school, it is a good idea to apply as soon as possible. For the upcoming school year, you can apply as early as October 1 for the FAFSA. Additional school aid will be dependent on the FAFSA results.
53% of students attending Richland College receive some sort of financial aid.
45% were awarded federal grants.4%received federal loans. Many students do also need to apply for additional private student loans.
