Within two weeks of getting my first ever car and my drivers license, as well as my first debit card, I was living alone in my first apartment. Santa Fe was an amazing choice, and I don't regret leaving home to pursue an education there. SF has amazing accommodations for each student, and a smaller class size that makes the lectures feel more personal and intimate. There is also an amazing amount of diversity among students, I have met people of nearly every demographic in my time at Santa Fe- from military veterans in their 40's, to freshly graduated high school students. Santa Fe truly wants its students to thrive, and I would recommend it to anyone unsure of where they should start their academic journey to further their education.

There is a lot of great features within the school in my opinion. It has a small class size, attentive teacher, great counselor, good support system, and club such as Student Government, Student Ambassador, etc to support the students in need. As I'm part of the Student Ambassador, we have contribute and helped with events such as Halloween party, fall fest, black history month, etc in order to fulfill the life of the students more with fun and enjoyment outside of homework and class. With the tutoring center of us, it is a great resource for anyone who needs it. We also have a gym which is completely free for those enroll in full credit which is a great bonus for those who love to keep in shape or enjoy the workout.

Santa Fe Community college is a lot better than I expected it to be. My experience at this college has been pleasant. I am always motivated in my classes to continue my degree. There is also many resources provided for students no matter what you need.

Jade

I like the Santa Fe Community College environment, it's very close bound. There are always groups of people chattering about strange but interesting things. The art gallery is beautiful and the people who work for administration and who manage my programs are always willing to work with me. The campus is small but there is space for every little person.

If you have a war disability look to attend elsewhere. The instructors in the Woodworking program will ridicule you, and treat you like trash. The only thing these people are concerned about is protecting their own shallow careers. Most of the instructors are pompous, self-aggrandizing, twits. They could care less about individual students, much less one with a combat disability. Furthermore, the Administration allows it void of accountability or remedy.

Mathias

This college is a fairly good one with people who care about you and small classes with one on one experience. I would go to this college just for fun and for the art experience. The professors are extremely nice and understanding about the fact that you have a life. Some will allow you to finish work if you submit it first and show the work you have done and then allow you to turn it in again later for more points if you fixed it.

Ryan

The school is great overall and they offer many opportunities for students. There is a great sense of satisfaction, being able to go to such a great college. The people and staff are great and help students in every way possible even when it seems impossible.

Dylan

It is such a great place to hone in on your passion. You will enjoy yourself here if you take advantage of all the resources that they offer. It is nestled just outside of Santa so the views are gorgeous. It is still growing as an entity, but I feel that they are doing there best to continue to create a quality environment for academia and community.

Santa Fe College is a good school to finish General Studies classes but higher classes like Chemistry or Biology are not well staffed. It is well known throughout the campus and students that those classes should not be taken due to a low number of passing grades. However, if enrolled for General Studies for a transfer into a higher institution, this is a fine school.

Carlos

The college is a good size for people who are nervous about a big university. Slowly but progressively they work to help all students whether they be early college students, high school graduates, adults, different language speaking aside from English. The teachers are a bit unintrested in their job, but not all. Over all this college has helped me a fair amount to be prepared for university and life in general.

Mara

My overall opinion is that SFCC is the best place for me to study. With a diverse student body and friendly staff members, I am able to balance my work-school balance and enjoy going to the school when I need to (which is all the time)! Also, I think that the school is really affordable which is great!

Anjala

I love that I am able to complete on-line classes as a full time student and work full time. I will finish my two-year degree here and move on to a four-year college afterwards. The teachers that I had last semester for math and my technologies class were amazing!!!!!! On-line accounting 121 was a bit difficult to digest but that is the reason why I am doing my accounting 122 class at the school this semester. I would highly recommend my college to others.

Johnathan

It is quite a small school, thus the kinds of issues that are present with small school are fairly present here: a lack of choice in class, no on-campus housing, and limited food options on campus. It is, however a very safe and welcoming environment for anyone looking to get their start at somewhere less intimidating than a university.

Leah

I love everything about Santa Fe. Smaller classes, amazing teachers that are willing to help out, and the awesome resources they provide to students. Dual-enrolling is also huge at Santa Fe and as a student who was previously dual-enrolled it is so worth every minute. Santa Fe may seem small but the college is HUGE when it comes to help and making sure every student is doing their best. Props to you Santa Fe!

Teresa

This school was perfect for me after high school since I wasn't sure what I wanted to do. The entire staff was encouraging an helpful in determining what would be best degree to pursue that brought into consideration my interests. The professors believed that every student could do whatever they wanted and encouraged us to succeed. I would recommend SFCC to anyone because it's a place for people take the next step toward their future.

Santa Fe Community College FAQS

  1. What is the Acceptance Rate at Santa Fe Community College?

The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Santa Fe Community College is 100%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020, _____ students were offered admission.

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

I've always hated it when people said that high school is the best four years of a person's life. I never really enjoyed high school. So, what would I sayto my past self? I would walk right up to my frumpy, sad-sack self and say, "Hey, Sam. I know you're having a difficult time, you're finding it hard to really get into all this, and you don't know why. You've always really liked school and learning, and now, all of the sudden, it's not as satisfactory. I'll let you in on a little secret. You don't like school now because high school isn't about learning anymore. You may ask yourself 'Well,if school isn't about learning anymore, what is all this stress, drama, anxiety, and effort for?' It's a four year audition for college. So, as much as you dislike school now, just hold on because at the end of it you'll get to go to college which means school is, yet again, about learning. Don't worry, Sam. You're doing fine. Just keep it up and remember that college is much, much better.

  3. What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?

I think the wrost thing about my school would have to be how small the class size is. I admit, every now and then, a smaller group of classmates per teacher ratio is kind of nice, but most times I find myself wishing for a small auditorium filled with people as eager to learn as I am. I feel much more comfortable in a room of thirty people rather than 15. It's not that I'm not comfortable taking a leading position, I've just always been apart of bigger groups in my academic experience, so far.

  4. What's the most frustrating thing about your school?

It really bothers me how bad our Wi-Fi and cell reception are. We're an advanced learning institution and it's 2015. Everyone's phones and laptops should work, regardless of the fact that we're right on the edge of a mountain range next to a desert. We should have connectivity that matches our BEAUTIFUL views.

I think that my school has a very diverse population. There are high school students taking advanced courses, international students, "typical" college-aged people, and also a lot of people, like myself, who woke up one day and realized they were stuck in a dead end job and should be proactive about changing their fate. The person who attends this school should be very open-minded and non-judgmental. Everyone is here.
