Schreiner University Top Questions

What should every freshman at Schreiner University know before they start?

Jessica

I would give myself the advice to never give up. Times will get hard during finals time but stay focused because in the end it will all be worth it. Especially being able to walk across the stage and telling yourself you did it.

If i could time travel back to my senior year in high school, I would first tell myself to not be afraid of change. Change happens whether we like it our not and most of the time it's for the better. I would also tell myself to use the tutors that are avaliable on campus when you do not understand or need help on a subject. As well as the other learning centers that are avaliable to you. I would tell myself to make the best of high school memories because you will miss those memories once they are gone. But most of all I would tell myself to have fun, make plenty of new friends, not to judge a book by its cover, and to just live life as it comes, because in college you will find some long life friends, and realize who you are supposed to be in this world.

I would tell myself to work harder and to try my hardest and not procrastinate. Also, to take the time to apply for more scholarships and attempt to get prepared and schedule better.

When you are in high school, adults always tell you that you have to go to school, get good grades, and think about the future, but let's be real here. High school students are more focused on what they are going to wear that day than what college they will go to. If I could go back, I would tell myself that the lectures are true. I would tell myself to focus more on academics. I could have had better grades, but I did not see the point. Now, looking back, I realize how stupid this was. The potential was there, it just required some effort. Unfortunately, my naive high school self did not see this. I would go back and tell myself to suck it up, study, and make life easier for my future self. I would give the best motivational lecture anyone has ever given and whip myself into shape.

Allissa

I would go back to myself in high school and tell myself to study as much as possible. College classes are much more difficult than I had anticipated and my not knowing how to study has definitely hindered my GPA.
