SMCC is I good place to go when you want to save money. The people there is very nice and they help you in anyway they can. The professors there are the same professors that teach universities, so I know that I am getting the same education as if I was in a university.

Lukas

It is a great school, I went there to get my credits and transfer. that being said I took part in the Math/Science/Engineering portion of the school so I am not too sure about the art classes. but from what I experienced the professors were kind, informative, and most importantly there to help when needed and even when not.

Erika

South Mountain has been an unexpectedly great school and I have enjoyed the time I have been there. The teachers have been so engaged to their students and patiently take their time to give the attention their students need. Students have a lot of resources for every subject at school and are offered so much help. I feel like people don't really think community colleges aren't as good as Universities but I disagree, the attention these teachers give you you would not be able to get at a university .

Paige

I haven't attended a college quite like this. In fact, although it is different, I love it entirely. The classes are small, and each professor acts as if we are on the same level. Things become personal, and it makes feeling like college isn't just a classroom really worth every hour spent.

Mary

Overall my experience so far has been great! everything has met my expectations. There are no dorms here at a community college which is great. I love my professors and have gained so much knowledge. My goal is to become a physical therapist and so far my advisors are leading me in a great direction.

Danika

Overall, SMCC has good quality classes. Teachers are readily available and engage with students personally. Additionally, they have arranged a scholarship fund for students with money out of their own pockets. However, clubs are elusive and social events are organized at the public library rather than at the college. Despite this, there are many college fairs and individuals to help with transferring to a four-year university. There is always free food for students.

South Mountain Community College is my first college I have ever been to. This is my first time at a college, having such freedom and different, yet very fluent class hours, it is such a different atmosphere and I find it quite enjoyable. I am surrounded by students who care about their future and who are willing to put forth the work and offer any assistance when necessary.

Francisco

My overall opinion of South Mountain Community College is five stars! I really like the class sizes and the students here are friendly and serious about class. I really love how my instructors answer my questions in or out of class whenever I don't get something. I enjoy the surroundings, students are serious here and act like adults. I would definitely recommend South Mountain Community College to friends and family!

Annisa

I attended South Mountain Community College for over 2 years and I have had the best experience. They really are all about student success. There are so many opportunities available for students to achieve their goals and continue their education. There is no reason to attend here and not get the education and support you need to achieve your goals.

Randy

I loved South Mountain Community College. I loved the journey of success that this college has provided me with. I was always welcomed onto campus with hellos and greetings from faculty and staff. I was always able to get help when needed. I was always able to understand everything in class due to the hard working and very well trained professors that work here. I loved this college.

Carlos

Overall South Mountain Community College is a great school with involved students and instructors. The class sizes are relatively small so that is a plus as well. Teachers are always helpful and are more than willing to take things slower to help students understand the materials.

Mikki

South Mountain Community College is the perfect first step for someone who has just graduated high school. South Mountain is the perfect size. The campus is well laid out; easy to get from one class to another. There are enough students and different cultures for everyone to find a place where they belong. South Mountain Community College is an amazing college where they do not just teach the students the answers to the books, but they also teach their students the answers to living a good, successful, happy life.

Kristian

This college has everything I need to get my studying and other work done. I find the faculty to be helpful and kind. With this college having smaller class sizes, it is easier to get help with your professors. The tutoring staff are also great when you need help with a subject. Overall I am enjoying my enrollment here at SMCC.

Lovely

South Mountain Community College is one of the smallest campus throughout the Maricopa community colleges. With this, classes are more hands on and smaller.

Frank

South Mountain was the first college I have ever attended and I couldn't be happier with my decision to attend this school. Not only did I make many life-long friends and relationships; but I also got to attend class with some really amazing teachers that taught me lessons I'll never forget. Everything about this school fosters growth and ambition. South Mountain wants you to succeed and will help you every step of the way until you do so. The teachers are very caring and top quality and the campus and atmosphere itself is very welcoming and friendly. I definitely recommend this school to any and everyone. I wouldn't start your college career anywhere else!

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

As a high school senior I was excited to be entering into my college years. I originally went to Ivy Tech State College in Indiana full time. I started slacking, majorly. The fact that I was paying for college with mutual funds left by my Grandmother there were no rules to stay enrolled like there is with financial aid. So, I did poorly when I would actually go. Resulting in being dropped because of numerous absences and left with nothing to show for all the money spent. I then went to another college and did the same thing. Once realizing this is something I NEED in life I applied for financial and started attending every scheduled class on time and trying my hardest. I didn't realize the importance of ataining higher education as I do now. I should have told myself that in my life not going to college isn't an option. Not only because I am passionate about the degree in which I am slowly achieving but also because there isn't any reason one should pass up the opportunity to be able to learn and grow in a safe environment.

  9. Here's your chance: Say anything about your college!

My school has less students in a class than at a university. The teachers actually help you one on one and they know your name appose to just being a face in the crowd. Our campus withholds the oppurtunity for the students to make careers at the school while still being a student, it is an aid to help you find work. It also prepares high school students as they journey with the ACE (Achieving College Education) program. This is a program that allows students that are high school sophmores to take college courses.

  13. What's the most frustrating thing about your school?

The most frustrating thing about my school would be the fact that I am unable to buy books until some sort of financial aid is granted. If it were not for my mother I would be bookless 2 weeks into my courses. Also the fact it doesn't have my major which is Interior Design so I am just getting my prerequisites then I will transfer.
