My opinion of Stephen F. Austin State University is that it is a great university to go to. When I went there for the first time on Showcase Saturday, I thought that the campus looked beautiful, especially the statues and trees. The dorms at SFA are pretty nice too (as of the time of this writing, I've had no problems with the dorms). The students and faculty at the college are also outgoing and friendly, too, and there are plenty of extracurricular things to do here, so it isn't hard to make a friend or two.

SFA isn't just a college, it's also a community. The faculty and staff are super nice and very helpful. The scenery of the college is breathtaking. No one at SFA is judged, you can truly be yourself here. Not only is the college top tier, but the clubs and bars are amazing places to hangout with friends. I have had so much fun at SFA!It's a small town feel but you'll learn to love it it's weird cuz you'll get nac sick on breaks sometime

I was raised in Nacogdoches. My mom is an SFA alum. We bleed purple in our house. I have been apart of many activities (especially) sports throughout my childhood. I did not have a second choice for a college. I always knew I would be Lumberjack! The campus is small and beautiful. The campus activity and vibe is positive. I am not a partier so much, but I do enjoy the college atmosphere. My first semester at SFA went well. My professors made my classes enjoyable and I did not have a single problem getting in touch with them when needed. I had heard that professors could be real jerks and make you feel stupid. To this point, I have not gotten that impression at all!! I am looking forward to the rest of the school year, and would definitely encourage others to consider SFA.

SFASU was definitely a diverse campus that gave us an abundance of opportunities to explore ourselves beyond our studies. Throughout my years there, it was very fast paced but extremely eye-opening. SFASU was a great way to branch out and live beyond my comfort zone while still learning and getting ahead.

SFA is a great living and learning environment. There are organizations available for all types of students. This school supports it students and puts them first in all decisions. My classes have always been small and my professors accessible. I am thankful for my time at SFA and have tremendous Lumberjack pride.

I call SFA my second home. I was not very excited to go to SFA at first, it was about my third choice on my college list. When it came down to things it seemed like I would be unable to afford my first and second choice colleges, so I had to chose between SFA and community college. I chose SFA. I did not begin to love SFA until I went for orientation. From there, I began to fall in love with the college and all the opportunities that were available. After bring there for almost two years now, I can now say I truly bleed purple. AXE EM!

I love the academic opportunities that my university offers! Since they are a small campus, the classrooms are more intimate than other state universities in Texas. I can not wait to be apart of SFA. However, everyone has the opportunity to develop a genuine relationship with the peers and teachers on campus and get and earn a excellent education.

I have really enjoyed my past 3 years at SFA. The campus is absolutely beautiful, especially in the spring when the flowers are in bloom. If you are a football fan, the team isn't the best but both men's and women's basketball is amazing as well as women's volleyball. Classes are a manageable size, especially when you get into classes for your major.

My overall opinion of Stephen F Austin State University is that it is a very comfortable school to be in. The people are so very nice, there are always people smiling and making you feel welcomed. The teachers are supportive and always available if there is ever a problem they are willing to help you. There is plenty of space to go take a walk and they even have a pond with ducks very relaxing just to go out and do homework or just to be somewhere calming. The library has 4 floors it you want to be alone and quiet it would be the 4th floor if you wanna hang with friends the 3rd and 2nd floor are perfect for that. The AARC is placed on the 1st floor where they have the kindest tutors ready to help you with any questions you may have. There is lots of clubs and events to join. SFA is a great school with lots of opportunities and faculty that care about their students it's a great place to be at.

  3. What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?

At Stephen F. Austin State University, parking situations are the worst thing about the school. Due to construction, it is hard for an off-campus resident to find a parking space. Even before construction though, it was hard to find a space and usually the closet spots were about a 30 minute walk to class. Other than that, I really do not find anything wrong with Stephen F. This is my first year coming in as a freshmen i so far haven't seen anything that bothers me maybe the fact that there's not as much divesity as I am used to. I feel like there's only a few hispanics which is great i hang out with all races but it feels a bit different in my opinion. In no way am i saying this school is racist or only accepts certain races I am just saying that some races take a bigger percentage of the student body than others.

Anyone could attend Stephen F. Austin. It is a good school. They have many fraternities and sororities. SFA also has a big nursing program. So I imagine a student who is studying nursing and plans on rushing would be a good applicant for Stephen F. Austin. A student who has lived in big cities all their life might not like SFA because it is in a really small town. However, you are going to school for an education, not the surroundings.

  14. What is your overall opinion of this school?

I would have to say that the best thing about this school is the friendliness and overall atmosphere. When I first visited SFA I felt at home because of how the staff and organizations treated me and the way that people would smile at you as you walked by. It's a pretty calm atmosphere to go to school in, which is always a plus. There's always something to do so you don't have to sit in your dorm all day long, but there's always the option of going back to your room if you need to study quietly. The teachers are pretty understanding about homework and pretty reasonable about work loads and tests. There is also an on campus tutoring service, the AARC, that will help you with anything from editing an essay to studying for a test or completeing a math worksheet. There's also a lot of school pride because everyone really enjoys going to school here. The students are here because they want to be, which helps the atmosphere of the campus be a positive one.

  17. What are the academics like at your school?

The professors are really good at knowing your name by a month into school and they really make an effort to connect with you and make sure that you are getting everything out of the course that you need. Class participation is common because that is one of the ways that the teachers check to make sure that you are learning everything you need to in order to stay on top of things. A lot of students hold study groups outside of class or talk about the class with each other to further understand the material and review for quizzes or tests. Students try to help each other out and make sure that each other is following along with the teacher so that nobody gets left behind. I spend some time with professors outside of class either asking them questions to clear up any misunderstandings I had about what they taught or doing honors projects for them, which consists of extra work or an extra project that requires further understanding of the material that's being taught in class. I do these extra projects to better understand and make sure I hold onto the knowledge that the teachers are sharing with me so that I can apply it to my career in the future. Everything the teachers say is geared towards your future and trying to make sure you become the best in your field.

  18. What do students complain about most?

Parking! The parking at Stephen F Austin is a joke! There is plenty of space, but they are only for faculty. Stephen F Austin is slowly pushing out all commuter parking. Most students who attend live near by, or in towns next to the campus. Myself I drove thirty minutes to attended classes and could never find parking even though I paid $200 for a parking pass. This is something that you can see students complaining about on every social media platform there is.
