I am interested in joining Texas A&M International University since I had always found their criminal justice program interesting. An additional reason I am interested in attending TAMIU is because of my family; I have always shown great importance into advancing my academic career, but most importantly staying with my family. My family are the main reason to keep me going, and Texas A&M International University is a great university near home, in which I know I will succeed in my academics and be near my family.

Its commitment to academic excellence, especially in areas like international business, education, and the sciences, is especially appealing to me as I seek a well-rounded education with a global outlook.
What draws me most to TAMIU is its strong emphasis on multiculturalism and international collaboration. Located in Laredo, right along the U.S.-Mexico border, the university provides a distinctive opportunity to study in a setting where multiple cultures intersect daily. That environment naturally fosters openness, adaptability, and a broader worldview—qualities that I deeply value and want to strengthen in myself.
In addition to academics, TAMIU’s variety of extracurricular activities and student organizations is impressive. From cultural clubs and leadership programs to service opportunities and undergraduate research, the campus encourages students to grow both inside and outside the classroom. I see it as a place where I could not only develop academically but also form lifelong friendships and connections.

Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) suits me best because it offers me the best education while being financially wise. Since it is based in my hometown, I don't have to deal with the enormous cost of living on campus or moving to a new city. Instead, I can maintain academic concentration while being close to home and saving on funds. College is costly, but going to TAMIU allows me to receive a fantastic education without the crippling stress of student loan debt.
Even though I'm home, I don't feel like I'm missing out. TAMIU has so much to give—clubs, leadership, and activities to get people together. There's no lack of opportunities to get involved, make friends, and improve both your educational and personal life. I can be certain I'll find some place where I belong no matter what my interests may be.
One of the greatest things I enjoy about TAMIU is that it is so diversified. As an international university, I will be exposed to individuals from all over the globe. That means that I will have the opportunity to witness various cultures, ways of thinking, and ideas while being connected to my own roots.
To me, TAMIU represents the best of both worlds—a low-cost, quality education in a welcoming, diverse environment. It's a location where I can learn, grow, and prepare for my future life, while still being close to the people and community that mean the most to me.

I would love to attends TAMIU for their programs, cost, efficiency and reputation. I am pretty sure that TAMIU is one of the most afordable schools to attend in all texas with a high education ranking. Not only will I not spend that much money on education, it will be an education of great value. I've heard of their multiple foreign exchange programs, which im interested in, which are so exiting and mesmerising. The fact that i can go to South korea or Italy for school for between two weeks to a whole semester is incredible. I have also heard from my friends whose siblings attend to TAMIU, that there's alot of divercity in this school. its rich in cultures from different backgrounds, full of diversity, yet everyone acts like a close knit famity.

It has so many wonderful people who'll assist one another, and I enjoy that! One thing that catches my eye the most is the outdoor surroundings! There are deer, many trees, and grass, which would be amazing to see with my own eyes someday. Even the colors and design of the building look very lovely!

It is a nice clean school, there are many things to do and the students there are very helpful and nice.

What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
If I could go back in time and talk to myself as a high school senior, I would tell myself to buckle up because it's not an easy ride like high school is. I would tell myself that I better stop wanting someone to just tell me answers because in college you have to do it yourself. In high school, I would always just wait until the teacher pushed me to do my work. I would tell myself to not do that because in college, if you do not do the work there is no excuses. and you get a zero grade for that assignment. The biggest piece of advice I would tell myself is to stop procrastinating because in college that can really back fire on you, I know from experience. I am now in college and some way procrastination still finds its way upon me. It is not good at all which is why I am learning as I go to make the right decisions because college is nothing at al like high school. When teachers in high school said they were getting us ready for the real world, they really meant it.
What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?
I don't even need a hand to count the things that are wrong with our University. My only complaine would have to be that we don't have a football team :(
The best thing about my school, is its diversity. Since it is an international school, there are students from all around the world, and it is really great to see different people with different cultures other than my own.
It takes an open minded person to attended our university. Just the name says it all, Texas A&m INTERNATIONAL University. Our campus is full of transfer students and offers many programs on cultural diversity. So believe me when I say, there will be culural shock and you should be prepare and open-minded to meet students from all over the globe.
What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?
I dont really wish to have known more than what I already knew about the school. So far, my experience has been well over all. The school does have a a couple of things that seem pointless to me like mandatory mentor meeting which, in my opinion, just stress the student out more for being forced to attend. I'm not really in need of a mentor, and if I do ever need one, i'll find myself a counselor to help me get out of whatever trouble I'm in. Other than that, i'm good.
What's the most frustrating thing about your school?
I haven't really encountered anything frustrating about this university, since I am just seeking to complete my undergraduate studies. However, there are a few things that are annoying. For example, it is sometimes difficult to find a convenient parking space (I don't really mind) and the main offices are located far from the classes. However, these things are only annoyances they are not the cause of mass frustration.
All students must apply yearly for financial aid. This process starts with the FAFSA.
Though financial aid deadlines vary by school, it is a good idea to apply as soon as possible. For the upcoming school year, you can apply as early as October 1 for the FAFSA. Additional school aid will be dependent on the FAFSA results.
