What draws me to Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi is its unique blend of strong academics, supportive community, and incredible coastal setting. As the Island University, it offers a one-of-a-kind learning environment surrounded by water, which makes everyday life on campus feel both inspiring and refreshing. I’m especially drawn to the academic programs in marine biology and environmental science, which are enhanced by the university’s access to coastal ecosystems, giving students hands-on experience that goes beyond the classroom. The smaller class sizes and close-knit campus culture also appeal to me because I value personal connections with professors and peers who are invested in my growth. Beyond academics, the extracurricular opportunities at TAMU-CC seem diverse and exciting. From student organizations and volunteer programs to outdoor activities like paddleboarding or beach clean-ups, there’s a strong sense of community and a lifestyle that encourages balance between learning and living. I can see myself thriving in that kind of environment—one that feels both challenging and welcoming. To make TAMU-CC my absolute first choice, I’d love to see even more enhancements to campus life, like expanded student housing options with ocean views, more interdisciplinary programs that combine science, technology, and sustainability, and increased internship partnerships with local environmental organizations. These features would make the college experience even more immersive and impactful, preparing students not just for careers, but for a meaningful future.

Very unique campus that is settled on an Island. There are nearby coffee shops to study and get together. The campus itself is having some ongoing developments and upgrades to facilities and other buildings. The student life and culture around the university is something other universities don't have. Overall, really great school to go.

Overall Texas A & M University - Corpus Christi is a good campus. The professors and faculty here are motivated and willing to help students in any questions that they might have. There is access to computers and printers all over campus which is hassle free especially when your laptop crashes on you last minute. There's a diverse culture amongst students, allowing plenty of ways to find where you fit and outreaching to others with similar interest as you. What's more beautiful than attending a university on an island.

A school for local living students to go, but not a place for graduation.. more of a gateway to College Station and brighter futures. This school is an overall place to learn and get out, potentially transferring to a higher educational embarkment. Students are commonly local or from San Antonio area..

I think TAMUCC has a lot of potential but they just haven't quite found the way to use it. They have very nice facilities that are offered to students. WHen it comes to sports though, a lot of students are left in the dark about what sports teams we have.

I love Texas A&M University- Corpus Christi! It is just big enough that you get the college experience without feeling like you are just another number. The views are absolutely breathtaking! The down side to living on campus is that the university is on an island, meaning that if you don’t have a car or miss the bus you can be stuck here.

Big enough college where you can walk from one building to the other easily. Clean environment with very nice staff. Education is fantastic because of very passionate professors. It’s a beautiful Island, the diversity of people has a good ratio. Over all the college is definitely up in the best of colleges.

My overall Opinion of Texas A & M University- Corpus Christi is very good. It is a very nice community that offers so much to people who take the time to look. I've lived in Corpus my whole life so I have no trouble finding my way around nor finding people to communicate with and socialize with. It's a community that really cares, I constantly see surveys of them asking how they can be better and what kind of things us students would like to see on our campus.

Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi is a truly unique school in that it has an atmosphere, a culture like no other. The students are incredibly friendly and so helpful. The professors make it a priority to be involved in the education of their students, and it makes all the difference. Campus life is something to be in awe of because of how many opportunities there are to get involved. Even though many may be miles from home, there are so many factors to help students feel right at home. This especially includes the diverse student population, the vast housing choices available to students, and the countless opportunities to get involved.
