WARNING! WARNING! STOP PROCRASTINATING! This is something that I would have definitely yelled to myself back in high school. Knowing that Starbucks is a places where I never get tired of going, I would have invited myself there and had this conversation. "I know that this is your last year of high school and you and your friends are just starting to have fun but you really need to start thinking about your future. What you need to do is go into Mrs. Mascola's office (the guidance councelor) and start signing up for as many shcolarships as possible. Even if you think that you will never get any scholarships, trying doesnt hurt. And while your in her office, ask her about the test you need to take to get into college, instead of struggling on your own. Oh yeah and make sure they send your official transcripts to the university, because then its a hassel doing that later. If you want to enjoy your college years just the way you enjoyed your high school years I suggest that you take my advice and see Mrs. Mascola first thing tomorrow."

Make a decision of the college that's best for you. Not based on what your parents and friends want or wahts best for your "image". Even though you were in the top of you high school you may not want to attend a "top" university, if you're more comfortable in a asmall setting you should consider a smaller university close to home where u can still recieve a comparable education.

Listen Jose. When you graduate from hight school, it would be very smart on your part to assist the local university. Why? Only because you need to have a great career and live up to your dreams, plus the University of Texas at Brownsville is one of the best universities to assist. Your dreams will only come true, if you go to college and prepare yourself for the future. You and your family will have a great economic standing and have many of your dreams realized. One of your dreams would be the take your children to go see Mickey Mouse and visit Walt Disney in Florida. Another is to visit Hawaii, and fly oversees anywhere in the world. College life would be a great experience, if you take advantage of it. So go to college and make a difference in your life. If you don't then you'll regret it forever.

If i could go back to high school as a senior, first of all I would advice my self to take all the Dual enrollment classes that I could of taken at that time. fF would tell myself to take advantage of this courses and other college credit courses because this would of help me alot with already have the classes that i needed as basic an not lose time at college taking all the basic I need. Also I would advice myself to try and apply for as many Scholarships as i could because money is also important in school if you do not have enogh money to pay all your classes at a time maybe you will take longer to acquire your degree or many not even going to college. Futhermore, there is one thing that I would of given as an advice to me and that is to enjoy being in high school my last year beacuse college is a whole lot different. Other than these things the rest i was fine my grades where high enough and I passed all my classes.

It is May 2005 and I am a senior in high school. I would tell myself, self. Please go back to your freshmen year and ask your councelor what a GPA is. (I literally did not know that a GPA was so important till the last day of school) Criselda, attend as many college information and finanacial aid nights as possible with your parents so you may all be on the same page about your college plans. Go into your councelors office and ask her about applying early for financial aid and what youneed for it to get done and here in time for my first semester of college, and last but not least. This is the beginning of the rest of your life. Be positive and Always know that you are knowledgeable and able to do all things, because all things are possible. No one said college was going to be easy but you can do it. I believe in you.

I've asked myself a similar question like this before, "If I could go back in time what would i do different?" The funny thing is I always come up with the same answer, nothing. I would just tell myself to be more patient and that everything comes at its own time, you can not rush things. Patience it is, why is that? you ask, well because I have been through so much from the time i was a junior in high school , to now junior year of college. If I would go back and tried to make things that much easier, yes I would have that much more of a chance to succeed, however, I do not believe i would be the same person I am today. So you ask me what advice I would give myself, and my answer is to be patient, dedicated, and to take one thing at a time. Thank you for this opportunity.

It was not an easy decision to make! I made it to high school regardless of the obstacles that I had to overcome. It was my first year as a high school student, finally. It had been a long journey to get to high school and to make a very hard decision. I I grew up in Mexico, and I went to school there. Due to family problems I had to move to my uncle's house. He is not really my blood uncle, but we were related. I started middle school, when I was fifteen. It was very hard because of the language. I managed to finish the second half of the sememster. I repeated the eigth grade. I completed the eighth grade and began high school. I was seventeen and a freshman in High School.

Given the opportunity that I could go back and teach myself something I assumed I already knew I?d definitely tell myself to believe that I was worth going where I wanted my dreams to take me. Being from a small town tends to seclude you, well me anyway, from thinking you have ?what it takes? to make it in the BIGGER world. Being a high school senior tends to help you forget about anything outside your Mascot?s walls and rooms. I?d have told myself to try harder not only on things I deemed important, like tests and essays, but socially, too. However, the one thing I would have engraved in my skull to this day would have been to take the advice of my mother more seriously than I ever gave it credit for. She?d tell me things on a daily basis about my future that literally went in one ear and out the other. I?d have put my fears of letting go behind me and moved forward with a stride that had my confidence beaming. Believing in myself is something I would have done a million times over given the chance to go back.

Oh! if only i could go back in time and talk to myself as a high school senior, I would probably not be registering college two years after my high school graduation. Now that I think about myself as a high school senior I remember myself so irresponsible not looking forward to the bigger world, the life after high school. The last year of highschool there was so much help so much useful information from teachers and counselors even friends, but not the I realize it is like i heard itthrough one ear and it went out the other, in another words when that information or help was need later on I was just lost. By not being well prepared and responsible I have lost time and well money. My advise to myself is act now! Don't wait any longer, be wise as go foward, and don't look back.

If I had the opportunity to visit myself when I was a high school senior I would definitely prioritize applying to as many scholarships as possible. Also, I would advise myself to always plan ahead and be very well-organized so that I could be ahead of the game every time. I would also encourage myself to study religiously, or more so than I did as a freshman. In addition, I would suggest that getting involved in clubs and on-campus associations would be a great way to network and really get to know the campus and the students.
