I would tell myself to wait until i knew what i wanted to do before entering college, or at least look at all your options and choose a career that is practical and has job security. I would tell myself to try to avoid taking loans out if possible , especailly private loans. I would tell myself to look into scholarships and grants and try my hardest to get them. Also to get involved in my school's programs and oppurtunities as soon as possible!

I would start by telling myself to relax and absorb the true essence of graduating from high school; college is really no different from AP or Dual Enrollment classes. Furthermore, I would tell myself to exercise more often, due to the incredible amount of walking that is part of college travel. Also, I would suggest getting a part-time job during high school and accumulate a decent amount of money for unforseen expenses, such as scantrons, books and whatnot. Lastly, I would probably tell myself to get into the habit of reading in order to prepare myself for the long hours of study ahead for me. If I have had this information during my senior year, the transition towards college life would have been alot smoother.

The first advice would be to start planning what career is of interest to you, and research it! Knowing what this career is composed of is a great path that will lead you to your profession. Another piece of advice is to find and register to your preferred college as soon as you graduate. DO NOT SAVE IT FOR LATER! We learn from our mistakes, and I can honestly say to forget about vacations for a year, and start your career....get a head start! Just remember that everything you do will make you prosper...

The best advice for you a high school senior will be this; treasure these few points because they will be the most valuable lessons for you to learn. Make sure you focus your first year of college , go straight to the right advisor for the medical program, don?t go to the main advisors that are provided because they won?t guide you to the right way. Do not give up even though they tell you wont make it. Strive to be successful and study hard. The best place to study is the library in the study rooms they are the quietest. If you ever are discriminated against your disability there are people who can help you don?t keep it to yourself there might be people like you in that situation. Don?t take all your basics first who ever tells you to is a lie it will only get harder with your core classes. Do your shadowing and community service it?s a great experience. Try to take classes with professors you can understand. Visit them frequently and ask how you are doing, if you don?t understand something in class ask them they will help you.

I would definitely advise myself to register early. I would inform myself that registration gets hectic, classes do go quickly, and the only way to avoid the situation would be register as soon as possible. I would tell myself not to procrastinate and organize my schedule later when the registration process slows. I would advise to find out what classes will be given out in the following semester and select ones that fit my time schedule. I would then direct myself to research the professors giving the course on RateMyProffesors.com to select potential candidates for who and who not to take. Once a full-time schedule has been compiled together, I would tell myself this to prepare for the day when registration will first open up. Since trying to register online at 12am becomes a hassle because the server crashes, I would tell myself to stay overnight in the education building so I could write my name on a registration paper posted on the double doors. At 7am, all I would do I wait for my name to be called and register without any hassle because staff does not have problems registering students.

There are not many things I would change but if I could go back in time I would not have taken any business classes. I would of automatically taken Exersice and Science classes. Although I have not been affected by that. I would have also applied to scholarships since my senior year in high school. I like what I have done so far in college Ive just taken like 4 extra classes which is a semester but I've learned a lot through those classes so I dont regret it.

If I could go back in time and talk to myself as a high school senior. Knowing what I know about college life and making the transition the advice that I would give myself is to never give up and to follow your dreams. In order for you to follow your dreams you need to have faith and be responsible on your life.

The advice I would give myself if i could go back to my high school years is not to be afraid to speak up and learn. The only way we ever learn is by asking questions. I was a shy girl who was not heard. I wish I could have known of the money that is out there for assistance.
Nadia
Nadia do your homework, is what my parents used to say and now that I think about it was worth while. Being able to go back in time and talk to myself as a senior would change the outcome of right now. One advice I would give myself would be to save money because college isnt for free. Another advice would be to try to earn college credit in order to finish my bachelor?s degree in a shorter time period. Talking to the counselors during my senior year would have helped me a lot right now in UTB. Something they would have helped me with would be applying for several scholarships and not just one like I did. Like I mentioned before going to college isnt a free ride. Getting involved in extra curricular activities would be something else I would remind myself about for sure because it will help you applying for scholarships. One of the many things I had trouble in my senior year was my constantly slacking off and its something I regret because that affected my grades a lot. So dont slack off Nadia, I would probably say to myself and enjoy your senior year.

As a senior, it was difficult choice I made to stay at this college in my hometown. I have always been the type of person to push myself forward and to obtain the best I could. My culture made me have a family that needs my support in Matamoros, Mexico. I found myself doubting about whether to pursue a higher education to save myself from living in poverty again, or to work to help my family out. I worked hard to attend a college that I barely qualified to, not overqualified. Also, I needed to see my family anytime before they die. I realized, "why pick between them two?" I might not be enrolled in the most prestigious college, but its makes me close to my family. Now, I am a sophomore , with one year attending, in college. I would advice myself, and reaffirm my doubts. I would tell myself that this is the best decision I have yet taken in my life. I found out, that I CAN do both. I can be with my family in need, and assist college to assure myself of a future. I would erase myself of all the doubts and dissapointments I had.
