As an online, off-campus learner, I proudly say that The University of Texas at Arlington is a five-star institution. I first fell in love with UTA's campus when I attended a drum major training camp during the summers of 2015 and 2016. My team and I stayed on campus for about three days, giving us a taste of college life. I loved the atmosphere and heard phenomenal things about their nursing programs. My mom is also an alumnus of the university, and I recall her having a pleasant experience.

Looking at this place, and having taken 2 tours there, it would be amazing to be able to join the community there because there is so much to do there, there's water activities, sports, esports, buildings dedicated to specific things, and it feels like its own ecosystem of people when walking around and seeing the people there.

The University of Texas gives their students good benefits and opportunities. A lot of people end up being really successful once leaving The University of Texas due to the amazing classes and people . My older sister is currently attending UTA and she says it's a good college, when I ask her she tells me the many benefits of being a student there. It gives me interest to learn more about UTA and hopefully attend college by the fall of 2028.

I would love to attend The University Of Texas at Arlington because this college is everything I could have dreamed of. There is many special things that I like about The University Of Texas at Arlington, including the diversity, respect, and involvement. Just a few days ago I attended a campus tour and everything that was being showed in the tour just amazed me. The one thing that I can say I look forward to is the diversity in this college because I think it's important to surround yourself with all different types of cultures and ethnicities to learn new things. I'm happy to attend UTA my overall rating would be a five out of five, I can't wait to start my college life and career starting at The University Of Texas at Arlington.

When I first heard about it from most of my teachers' experiences at UTA, I knew that their experiences are nothing compared to what I would expect. But I’ve been around the campus many times on field trips and they were amazing showing me around the different majors there. Art as a career, engineering is like the future at UTA, and even just by the people there are really nice and quiet. Maybe they were shy when I visited. But it has a lot to do with making someone's dreams come true. Almost reminding me about my experience when I discovered my high school, such an interesting opportunity, and nothing negative around this place to make you feel otherwise. This will be my first time here at UTA and I would like to say to the whole district, thank you for inspiring me to find UTA, and keep making me realize there is still a place for me that will love to see what I have to show to the world. And being at UTA will be the best experience of my life ever.

What attracted me to The University of Texas at Arlington (UTA) was its strong campus culture, commitment to community service, focus on leadership development, and countless networking opportunities across various departments.
For example, UTA offers multiple workshops to help students build their soft skills and expand their professional networks. The university's Lockheed Martin Career Center provides valuable classes, such as the Student Employee Career Academy, where I’ve learned essential workplace skills like customer service, professionalism, and time management. These experiences have helped prepare me for success beyond the classroom.
Additionally, the university's Follett Leadership Center has given me the opportunity to grow and apply my leadership skills by organizing and participating in community service projects. Through these experiences, I’ve had the chance to represent UTA and give back to the community through volunteer work.
UTA also provides excellent resources in areas such as academic tutoring, mental health support, and mentorship. I've benefitted from guidance offered by alumni, staff, and professors who are genuinely invested in student success.
As a history major aiming for a career in the library field, I’ve also enjoyed networking within the UTA Library system, while continuing to develop both my technical and interpersonal skills. I'm proud to be part of the UTA community—serving in leadership roles and mentoring fellow students has been incredibly fulfilling.
That’s why I confidently recommend UTA. It’s a university that not only offers exceptional workshops and opportunities to grow your network and develop vital soft skills, but also provides hands-on job experience through student employment, internships with partnered companies, and involvement in student organizations. There are many reasons why I want to attend The University of Texas at Arlington. One of the biggest things that stands out to me is how the university offers a lot of everything, strong academics, a lively campus culture, and amazing opportunities.
The location is perfect, center of Arlington and between two major cities, Dallas and Fort Worth. That means more chances to explore, connect with professionals, and enjoy city life while still having a campus to call home. UTA is also known for being one of the most diverse schools in Texas, and I love the idea of meeting people from all different backgrounds and learning from their experiences.
I’m also really excited about the organizations and clubs on campus. There seems to be something for everyone, no matter your interests or goals, and that makes it easy to find community. Since UTA is such a big school, it also means there are tons of resources and opportunities whether it’s internships, networking events, or support services.
One thing that especially caught my attention is the study abroad programs. Traveling and learning in a different country is something I’ve always wanted to do, and UTA makes that dream possible. Finally, the beautiful campus just feels like the right place to spend the next few years growing, learning, and making memories.

I am truly interested in attending The University of Texas at Arlington for several reasons, particularly its popular nursing program, numerous scholarship opportunities, and commitment to diversity. UTA's nursing program is highly regarded, and I believe it will provide me with the education and hands-on experience necessary to excel in the field. The emphasis on clinical practice, along with innovative teaching methods, aligns perfectly with my goal of becoming a skilled nurse in the near future.
Additionally, UTA's dedication to fostering a diverse and inclusive community stands out to me. As someone in a minority group, I value an environment where different perspectives are encouraged and celebrated. This diversity enriches the learning experience and prepares students to work in a globalized society, which is especially important in the healthcare field. Ever since my freshman year of high school I knew only one college was right for me, UTA. This university has stuck out to me due to a field trip I went on to the campus my freshman year. We visited all the STEM buildings and talked to women in STEM majors such as math or different types of engineering. I saw how the campus uplifts women as well as how the campus prioritizes academic opportunities for the students that attend. My number one goal for college is to feel proud when I graduate and to have zero regrets for the knowledge I acquire while there. I know if I attend UTA I will strive to be the best me I can be due to the resources the campus has as well as how all the students try their best. So for these reasons I know that UTA is the only fit for me.

What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
"If you're early you're on time, and if you're on time you're late!" - My theatre director
Little did I know that these words would be more important to me than I would ever realize. I was the guy who, when confronted with a problem, would take forever to get it started out of fear; fear of the unknown, fear of making a mistake. When time to register for Community College started, I thought it would be a simple and quick process, boy was I wrong. You see there are a few things you need to do before enrolling in your courses. I needed to complete my TSI placement tests, which means I had to study for each test, then also get the required documents, and let's not forget the mandatory advisement sessions. In the end I was left with night courses, that I barely made it in, at the last day to register for classes. If I could some how send a message to myself back then, I would tell myself to plan six months in advance, and I would also tell myself to submit for every single scholarship opportunity that presented itself to me.
Describe how your school looks to someone who's never seen it.
UT Arlington is a consantly active, amorphic, institute that provides all the resources for capturing virtuous goals and ambitions because after all, here, nothing takes the place of persistence.
What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?
I wish I had known that there was not enough parking near the buildings where I have class and I wish I had known that the Education Department has no specific building (just parts of 3 buildings) and that the College of Engineering has 5...
People that enjoy being closer to home rather than far away as well as commuters. They should be prepared for a tough math program due to it being an engineering school. Like any school you'll have to pay attention in class and study hard.
Most people do not think of UTA as a school of oppurtunity. They hear UTA and think, "oh that is a blow off." I know this because I used to be one of those people. I started my college career at SFA in Nacogdoches and was real disapointed to be moving back home and having to go to UTA. Now that I go to UTA, I realize that UTA and its staff is best known for the oppurtunites that they provide for any student that wishes to suceed.
Here's your chance: Say anything about your college!
I considered going to UNT and UTA. The uniqueness that led me to the UTA campus was the massive size of the campus. I enjoyed the size of all the engineering buildings and also the locations of the buildings. UNT had a new sadium, but I really wasn't interested in sports, but I'm more interested in engineering. UTA is one of the top engineering schools in the state. I feel like it was the right choice to go to UTA. UNT would be my second choice, but I just wanted to get my education from UTA.
What's the most frustrating thing about your school?
The most frustrating thing about UTA is, quite simply, the lack of resources. It has all the basics--good tutoring program, strong advising center, well planned course direction--but there really is this vibe of never being quite good enough, simply due to lack of time, space, and money. There's very much an air of "it's not UT Austin, but it's good enough," among many of the students.
What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about your school?
I love the advisors at UTA! I am a first generation college student who transferred from community college, and the advisors I had at Community College were not always as available to me. At UTA there are advisors for everything and every majo and you are required to meet with them once a semester. If you meet an advisor who may not be able to help you, then they can reference you to an advisor who can.
UTA is pretty great. There are a lot of students but it still feels like a small community. I'm from a really small place but I felt right at home. There are a lot of changes bin made right now. A new gym, parking lots, and apartments are going up now. We became a non-smoking campus last fall and a lot of students were upset. However, more were pleased than not.
All students must apply yearly for financial aid. This process starts with the FAFSA.
Though financial aid deadlines vary by school, it is a good idea to apply as soon as possible. For the upcoming school year, you can apply as early as October 1 for the FAFSA. Additional school aid will be dependent on the FAFSA results.
