The school is close to home, a lot of my family and friends have been to the school.

When I think about my future and where I want to study, the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA) feels like the perfect place for me to grow both academically and personally. As a first-generation Hispanic student, I’ve always dreamed of going to a university that not only offers strong academic programs but also makes me feel like I belong—a place where I can truly thrive while pursuing both my education and my passion for sports. UTA is that place, and I’m excited about the opportunities it has to offer in both academics and athletics. One of the things that excites me the most about UTA is how diverse and inclusive it is. As the first in my family to attend college, I’ve always wanted to be part of a community that embraces people from all walks of life, where everyone’s background and perspective is celebrated. UTA's commitment to creating an inclusive environment really aligns with my values, and I know it will provide the support and encouragement I need to succeed. I’m looking forward to connecting with students and faculty from all different backgrounds, learning from them, and gaining new perspectives that will enrich my education. What really stood out to me when I visited UTA a few times was how alive the campus feels. Unlike other universities I’ve seen, where people don’t seem to connect, UTA has this vibrant energy that instantly made me feel like I could fit right in. Everywhere I looked, I saw students engaging with each other—whether in study groups, casual chats, or hanging out in the common areas. It felt like a place where connections were happening all the time, and that’s exactly the kind of college experience I’ve been looking for. That sense of community really sets UTA apart, and it’s one of the main reasons I feel like it’s the right place for me. On top of that, UTA has an amazing business program that aligns perfectly with my career goals in marketing. I’m drawn to UTA’s hands-on approach to learning, especially in the business school, where students get the chance to work on real-world projects and gain practical experience. Learning from professors who have real-world experience and collaborating with peers who share my passion will give me the skills and knowledge I need to succeed. UTA’s focus on leadership and preparing students for careers in the workforce is exactly what I need to build a solid foundation for my future. But beyond academics, UTA is also where I can continue to pursue my love for volleyball. I first fell in love with the sport during my freshman year of high school, and even though I wasn’t recruited or able to afford joining an expensive club team, volleyball has remained a huge part of my life. I’m obsessed with the UTA volleyball program and am so excited for their volleyball camp in June—there’s no way I’m missing it! I’ve been putting in extra work through private lessons, especially to improve my hitting as an opposite hitter, and I’m determined to keep getting better. While I may not be eligible for recruitment, I’m really excited about the possibility of walking onto the team when school starts. The fact that UTA is only 15 minutes away from my house makes it even better because I’ll be close to home while I chase both my academic and athletic dreams. As a first-generation student, I’m passionate about breaking the stereotype that playing sports at a competitive level is only for those who can afford expensive club teams or who get recruited by big-name programs. I want to prove that with hard work, dedication, and a love for the game, you can be successful, no matter your background. I will never forget why I started playing volleyball, and being at UTA will allow me to keep pursuing that dream while balancing my studies and athletics. At the end of the day, I want to attend UTA because it’s a place where I can grow, challenge myself, and make the most of every opportunity that comes my way. From its inclusive and supportive campus culture to its excellent academic programs and athletic opportunities, UTA has everything I need to achieve my goals. I can’t wait to become part of the UTA community, contribute to its culture, and take full advantage of all the amazing opportunities the university has to offer.

Good nursing program

The University of Texas at Arlington (UTA) is on my list as a third option because it offers many qualities I value in a college—strong academic programs, a diverse student body, and a location that provides access to major career hubs. While it may not currently top my list, UTA definitely has unique strengths that make it a great choice for my college journey. Academically, UTA stands out for its programs in engineering, business, and nursing. The College of Engineering, in particular, has a solid reputation and offers a wide range of opportunities for hands-on learning and research. I also appreciate how the university is deeply connected to the Dallas-Fort Worth area, making internships and job opportunities more accessible to students across many fields. What also draws me to UTA is its diversity. The campus has one of the most multicultural student populations in Texas, which means I’d get to meet and collaborate with people from all different backgrounds. That kind of environment helps students grow—not just academically, but socially and personally. However, compared to UT Dallas or UT San Antonio, I feel UTA could strengthen its campus life experience. While there are clubs and activities available, I’d love to see more focus on building a tighter-knit community, whether through more interactive student events, expanded residential life programs, or new spaces that encourage student connection and creativity. To become my top choice, UTA would need to enhance its campus vibe—creating more ways for students to feel engaged and at home. If the university continues investing in its student experience while growing its academic programs and industry connections, I could definitely see it rising to the top of my list.

The culture and academics stand out to me the most.

Something that attracts me to the University of Arlington is the vibrant campus life. They have many cultural events and a range of student organizations from you to choose from. They also have a really strong career services office that helps with internships, job placements, and career development.

I am interested in attending for two reasons. One is because I took a tour there, and it was amazing, Two because it is where my mom went, and I would love to follow in her footsteps.

I wish to attend The University of Texas at Arlington due to the social work program they have every individual I talk to it about states that

The academic opportunities and campus life makes me want to attend. It's also in my home city.

I have yet to visit UTA, but the persistence of them wanting me to come to their school and the look of the volleyball team and the major and minor I want to go in all seems like the right place to be.

The University of Texas at Arlington is a great school. There are good dining options, a good library, academics, a fitness center, and athletics. There are no critiques, except that student social life could be improved and some buildings look slightly outdated.

I have known about this school for a long time. I toured this school in 2022 and I loved the atmosphere and the people were really welcoming. The buildings and the life there seem very calming and by that I knew that I was going to go to this school once I finish high school.
