I love UC it is always great to visit and also be a part of the school, they ever fail to amaze me and out of the other schools i have visited UC is the best one by far i have ever been to. They care about students and employees, they make sure everyone is safe, learning, and they have it to where anyone is available at anytime of the day or night. It is a very safe campus and they make sure everyone on the campus is supposed to be there.

I love the small class , the one on one time with the professors is great. They encourage students to new cultural events. The school is set up more for academics than any thing else. Which is what i desire for a college. i want to challenge my knowledge and process all new life experiences to the maximum availability.

It is a great place to start a foundation of learning and striving to obtain the right knowledge for your future. The campus is very beautiful nice architecture. The Faculty members are just outstanding, not once have I had an issue or a question that it did not get solved, address, or answered. I have heard of different students explain how their University is not as mine, and sometimes a pain, I would laugh and tell them to transfer. I truly believe if you are in need Charleston will provide.

Overall, I enjoy attending the University of Charleston. Due to UC being a private college, it is very expensive, which can add extra stress to the college experience. However, the faculty and staff will do anything that they can to help you. I am happy that I chose to attend UC.

The University of Charleston is basically a "melting pot of cultures". It's a mid size campus but the atmosphere is really amazing and tranquil. The students all seem to very friendly. Intriguingly approximately 40% of students present on campus are international students, which shows UC's ability in picking foreign talents. It's through this act that it has become such a melting pot of cultures.

The campus is a beautiful campus with views of the state capital and a walking trail along the river. It is a very safe campus. In the 4 years that I was there, I never heard of any crimes that were committed on campus. This is a very small campus which is nice if you want a small class size and have plenty of one-on-one time with your professors.

The University of Charleston is an extremely diverse and eye opening school. As an individual who went to a small school in a small town, I have cherished this opportunity to meet other people from different walks of life. The faculty here ensure that each student reaches their full potential and help us along the way. I am extremely happy to be going here.

The University of Charleston is a great school. It’s small, but the campus is beautiful. It is in a relatively safe location. Charleston is a good town in WV- not a huge city, but there are things to do in the area. Most of the staff is extremely helpful and kind. There are students from all of the world that help bring a diverse culture. The facilities are nice. Like any school, the experience is what you make it. It is not a big school, it is a private school with a lot of great academic and sports programs. You will like this school if you like small class sizes and if you like the atmosphere of what Charleston, WV has to offer.

When I first visited the University of Charleston it was an intimidating school. I went to a smaller high school and seeing how many rooms each building had was scary. But now that I have spent more time in the school, it now feels like a second home to me. I have never loved a school more than I love being at that school. The student and staff are very nice and I don't feel awkward for asking questions. The food at the school is the best food, and I am not exaggerating about it. The coffee shop in the school makes the best cookies and drinks. Outside of school, you have to drive down the road a bit, but there is fast food restaurants close by. The university is very against any drug or alcohol use on campus, which makes me feel better because I want to go to school to learn not hear about drugs all the time. They are also very against cheating, if your caught cheating you will go up in front of a "court" and they will tell the punishment. I am very pleased the university I go to and I would encourage other to the University of Charleston as well.

The University of Charleston is seriously here to make you a better person. Every school I applied to going into college said how much they cared about me and my education but no one quite expressed it like the University of Charleston. They gave me the opportunity to graduate early by accepting credits that other schools I contacted didn't. Now I skipped the freshman classes that I was already capable of completing and received credit for and am now deep into the nursing program. If you are interesting in nursing- this is the place for you. In your first year within the nursing program you will visit clinical sites. You will perform skills in a lab on a mannequin that you will later perform on a person. Of all the programs I visited, this one set me up for the most success and saved me the most money.

The university of Charleston is a very interesting college and when I say interesting I don't mean that in a good way. Charleston is a very small school with about 2,200 kids that go here. The classes are small the dining areas are small and so are the dormitories. This school is pretty much like a big high school. At normal colleges you'll see different faces everyday but not here. Now even thought this school is in the capitol of West Virginia it's very boring with not much to do at all except for going to the mall or seeing a movie. But one of the only perks we have is the views of the hills.

What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
Britney,
A few years from now, you'll be studying education at a major University in West Virginia, but right now I just want you to slow down and take a deep breath. I want to tell you not to make a rushed decision based on the school that your family and friends have attended. Stop and take a closer look at the educational programs each of the schools you are considering offers, and how the schools tuition will affect you monetarily. The UC will raise your tuition your sophomore year and you will no longer be able to afford to go to school. Please consider how much that track scholarship you have been offered truly means to you, and how much less important that is compared to the type of education will receive. All of your life you have dreamed of becoming a teacher, and educating our worlds future. Choose a school that will benefit you educationally, and leave you less in debt. I wish you the best of luck in the remaining portion of your senior year. Enjoy high school, because college isn't nearly as much fun as high school was.
Love,
Your twenty year old self.
Here's your chance: Say anything about your college!
the University of Charleston educate each student for a life of productive work, enlightened living, and community involvement. And the university also offering selected quality programs affording professional preparation in a liberal arts environment. Preparing students to live in an increasingly complex and changing society by helping them develop the knowledge, abilities, and character needed to be lifelong learners.
What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?
The worst thing about the University of Charleston is the fact that they reel you in to attending their school with promises of how their educational process far exceeds anyone elses, when in reality they are just a private school that charges way too much too attend. Unfortunately, if you transfer to another school, your grades from classes already taken will not transfer with you so you actually start your college years over.
What's the most frustrating thing about your school?
I would say that one of the most frustrating things about my school are the meal plans. As a Freshmen, you have to get 14-19 meals a week. I never eat breakfast, and sometimes not dinner, however I still have to pay. It is frustrating to me because I sometimes feel like I'm wasting money that I could be putting towards books or other things for school.
If in fact you do get involved, it is very easy to make lifetime friends. Many of the people there are extremely nice and fun to be around. The more friends you make, the more things you have to do and at that expense, Charleston doesn't seem as bad as it used to be. Unlike other schools, I feel as though the relationships you build at Charleston with other students and faculty really does last forever.
Any one that is wanting to continue their education should attend this college. If they are in the military then they should attend American military university.
Is the stereotype of students at your school accurate?
No everyone I have met at UC is very nice and helpful but every once in a while you will find a few stuck up people but that happens everywhere and not just UC!!!!!
As a pre pharmacy major, I feel that it is an incrediable program. The teachers are very helpful and they make sure that you are on track with what you need to be doing. UC has a fast track and tradition pre pharmacy program which allows students to finish at whatever pace they choose.
I love the teachers at UC because they are so helpful and understanding. I find it easy to learn subjects here because it is a small school and the student to teacher ratio is just right! I spend most of my time in my dorm room studying because college is ten times more challenging then high school! The most recent controversy on campus is the smoking huts and rules that go along with them. The main rule is that no one can smoke on campus unless they are inside of the smoking hut. One nice thing about UC is the club RHA. RHA host town hall meetings which allows the student body to voice their opinions about what ever topics they have concerns with to the cabinet!
