St. Thomas is a great school for me because of the business school. I'm going into the marketing field and it is hard to find a school that has the awesome and smart business professors that UST has. The alumni network here is great as well. They have Tommie pride and help graduates of St. Thomas find a job after college. The amount of knowledge I have gained at UST about the business world is invaluable.

I have grown so much as a person thanks to my time at UST. As I mentioned before, the people at St. Thomas are absolutely outstanding, and are so focused on helping students become better people. Careers are great, and there is plenty of focus on landing the right job (and ideally a high-paying one), but there is a large emphasis on developing as a well-rounded, social individual who can help others and give back to our shared world. I am so thankful for that emphasis and I know that St. Thomas has prepared me for life, not just the job-market.

I have really grown as both a student and a person throughout my college experience so far. I have only been at the University of St. Thomas for a semester now, but I have already gained so much knowledge and responsibility. This was a great thing to learn so early on because I feel much more prepared for adulthood when I graduate in three and a half years. The professors are amazing and help with anything you don't understand or just need clarification on. The work load has been a bit crazy, but that's due to my major. That is what has helped me the most - my workload. I have learned to manage my time better and I have realized that some things are much more important than just going on Facebook or watching television. This semester has been full of knowledge, both academically and personally.

My college experience has been wonderful so far, and as I see it, it is the stepping stone to one day being able to be a dentist. The types of volunteer work that the school sets up for students is great! Unlike almost all other students, I have decided to stay away from alcohol and partying every weekend. I truly understand that this does not fit my life goal of one day becoming a dentist. I really have to put in the time and work. But in the end I know that if it is meant to be, it will come true.

Going to college, although expensive, was one of the best decisions of my life so far. College has taught me how to be independent and make decisions for myself. I can decide what is best for me, regardless of what my friends think is best. I found out about myself and what kind of person I am. I have learned to perservere and never give up, even on the toughest problems. I've learned more than I thought I could, both academically and socially, and have made lifelong friends.

I have gotten a sense of worth in my life. I am beginning to understand the rewards of hard work. While it's not easy by any stretch of teh imagination it is worth it in the long run to attain the ultimate goal of happiness. If you have the opportunity and the skill set to attend college I say do it. Not just for the fun that the other students bring to the campus but to become a better version of yourself a better man or woman.

Before I attened St. Thomas, I was a homebody. I didn't go out, afraid to make a fool of myself. I was worried that college would be hard. But I decided to do everything possible to step out of my comfort zone. I went on a retreat in the first month, and for my first spring break I went on a nine day trip to Washington DC with STLF (Students Today Leaders Forever). It has helped me be more outgoing and believe in myself more.
St. Thomas has been very valuable to me. I can't imagine going somewhere like the University of Minnesota where I would disappear into the croud. With St. Thomas I get to make a name for myself by being in every on-campus group I wish to be in. I have made life-long friends and the campus feels like home. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

Ifeel like I've grown as a person, I'm more confident and outgoing. I've met so many new and fun people that have has a great impact on me. The best part of it all, is I'm working my way through school to follow my dream of being a veterinairan.

My college experience has given me a broader understanding of the world and of myself. It has been valuable to attend this school because it has given me a greater interest in my intended field, it has allowed me to meet great friends that have made me a better person, and I have learned to work hard to achieve my goals.
