I am truly enjoying Wiley. The faculty and staff are very approachable and wants you to learn. College is not about the professors, but it is about what the students out in to get what they need. I have often heard when the student is ready the teacher will appear. If we pull on our professor's knowledge and not dummy down then, the education will truly begin. We do out part and they will make sure they do theirs.

I LOVE my HBCU!!!!! Has a GREAT CJ Department. We just got a new president so the school is going through a lot of renovations and change. The dorm SUCK but i'm pretty sure they are about to fix those up. The cafeteria has its good day and that's on tuesday's, but sometimes that can be a hit or miss too.

I feel that the college have made improvements and im all for it but i feel that finances should be better. I apprection all that Wiley College have done for me and I'm proud of the person I have become while attending Wiley College. The college is like one big family no matter what happens it always someone there for you. Basically the whole campus is there for you and that what I love about my HBCU.

My overall opinion of Wiley is that it is a good school to attend because it is small and classes are small so that makes it easier to learn. The down side to it being a smaller campus is that everyone knows every ones business. but the administration and the staff are doing what they can so that they can improve the campus to make it better.

Wiley College is not just a school it’s already home for me. At first I was gonna go to Praire View, but as soon as I stepped on Wiley Campus I felt the atmosphere that I was meant to be here. I love the people they are so kind-hearted, so spiritual, they love the lord and they just bring joy to my soul. They are talented to the Basketball team all the way to the debators. And this school is famous for the movie “Great Debators” And they have the greatest choir ever. This school is just great and I can not wait for the Journey. Go forth Inspired

Wiley is a school where you have to invest there for it to be lit. For the most part when you put in good you get out good at this school. It is on an older campus with new technology so you get what you take for it. Overall i love my H in front of my B my B in front of my C i love my HBCU.

The Professors are extremely committed and easily accessible due to smaller class sizes. The Student Support Department is phenomenal in their dedication to student success. Finally, the Administration Departments are so creative, implementing policies and procedures to greatly improve this historic institution.

Wiley College is a private institution located on the West side of Marshall, Texas. I began going to Wiley in 2016, I am an off campus student. Since attending I have learned more about African American culture being that it is a HBCU. Being involved in several organizations has opened me up to many possibilities that I may not have been offered or willing to do if I didn’t attend this college. Wiley is a close knit HBCU that has approximately 1000 students that attends. It’s impossible to not know someone because we all treat each other as if we were family, at Wiley you are not just a number. You will get involved with organizations that will prepare you after you graduate and go into your career, or if you choose to further your education. Your guaranteed to gain intellectual and leadership skills that you’ll put to use frequently. If you want to feel apart of a family, than you should attend Wiley College home of The Great Debaters.

It is an overall great experience and good school. It is just in need of some housekeeping. The staff is mostly friendly and the students are equally as friendly. The environment is usually uplifting and energetic. The students are really involved in the school and that’s also a plus.

Wiley college can be considered a wonderful college to attend , yet to me it’s not challenging enough. I want to be pushed out of my normal learning habits , I want to be forced out of my comfort zone , and I want to be able to interact in the class room more. Wiley college is the college for students who love a small community and land. Yet for myself I would love to see new faces on the daily , learning more people names, and coming across different cultures. Wiley overall is a wonderful hbcu if anything , abd I’m glad I started here but I want to end some where bigger.

Wiley College is a great college for students who's not able to afford college and for having a close bond with the staff. If you're not used to going to a big college and in need of anything, this is the right place to be. There's some great staff here who will be there for you and gives you that support as if your family.

The college is great for educational purposes. The mission statement is really lived up to when enrolling at Wiley College. However, like any other university or college, students are a big distraction when one is trying to reach his/her academic potential. Overall, I have had some rough times and great times as well. I have successfully made it and will see the light at the end of the tunnel on May 7, 2016. Thank You Wiley College for all that you have given me in knowledge and finance.
The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Wiley College is 100%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020, _____ students were offered admission.
What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
i would go back and tell myself to raise my gpa up. dont slack and apply for scholorships. try to pick a different college. do my work while in college. dont cry about anything keep your head and pray. live life. dont stay to yourself all the time get out and meet people. have fun while in college. go to parties and events. have lots of food and save your money.
What kind of person should not attend this school?
Well to be honest anyone can go to this school but, anyone with a problem seperating from their parernts or anyone for that matter, and live at a far distance from the college shouldn't come.
What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?
Before coming to this school I wish I known how my decision to leave college at 19 would affect my adult life. Not that I have had a bad life but I believe things would be different if I had persevered through the hardships. Funds were limited and I was not mature enough to innovate ways to work through this. If I had I would not be a 49 year old college student now. On the bright side, I am enjoying college. Being an adult student proposes challenges but I have a sense of accomplishment just from returning to school.
What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?
The worst thing was the different type of people. That was the worst part because , you didn't know who to become friends with , or if your friends where even your real friends. Some days they where the best people in the world and on other days they acted like you where there arch enemy.
What's the most frustrating thing about your school?
The most frustrating thing about school is learning to manage and balance the stress from both school and social life. The school will stress you about needing so much financial aid but does not fully provide you with assistance. You would figure they would give a little hand with you having courses and coursework. so i have to fend for my higher GPA and finding financial aid. Not saying its not my responsibility, but that is pretty frustrating. I have to just shake it off and let my maturity shine through.
All students must apply yearly for financial aid. This process starts with the FAFSA.
Though financial aid deadlines vary by school, it is a good idea to apply as soon as possible. For the upcoming school year, you can apply as early as October 1 for the FAFSA. Additional school aid will be dependent on the FAFSA results.
99% of students attending Wiley College receive some sort of financial aid.
89% were awarded federal grants.77%received federal loans. Many students do also need to apply for additional private student loans.
