The home of blue and gold and the mighty bulldog has been nothing short of a marvelous experience for me. The campus, although it may seem rural and somewhat like a village, to me, feels like a home away from home, and a place where I can express myself, and become acquainted with like minds, but, also learn. Furthermore, Wingate provides a safe and secure campus for its students and allows for students to feel welcomed and safe on campus, although it is very open and broad to the wingatians around. The school provides a safety net for those who need it and cares deeply for its students, prospective students, staff, and those within the community. Continually, personally my experience there, during my first year has been life-changing for me, and provided me with the adjustments needed for transitioning from teenagehood to young adulthood, in preparation for the "real world". Through "Faith, Knowledge, and Service", I am proud to be a part of such a unique and beautiful campus where all are welcome and molded into civil citizens of society.

I fell in love with the school. I will be attending here in the Fall, and I can't wait for the next school year. The people here are so welcoming, and they really want you to succeed. After my campus visit, I went on the website and saw the different programs and extracurriculars they offered. They had exactly what I needed, and I thank God for allowing me to attend the university.

The staff is very helpful and understanding. They are involved in their students lives and look out for their students‘ safety even setting up programs online for their students to attend class. The food is great. A few people live for the parties on the weekend but generally everyone is really focused on their schoolwork and I don’t believe I have witnessed any drug activity on campus.

Wingate is definitely growing more and more, but they're growing for the wrong reasons. The food is inedible, the teachers tell you to figure it out when you want help, and there is literally no cameras in most of the dorms. People were beat up constantly or the RAs were letting floors run rapid. Not a good school either, it's gross, but for those who liked a small, close-knit school, it's the one for you.

Wingate University is such an amazing school, they have a range of activities and groups to help keep you occupied and interested in your free time. The quality of their academics is top-notch. Everyone on campus is friendly and willing to help in any way they can, the smaller class sizes mean there is more one on one time with the professors.

Wingate University is a beautiful school! If you love small colleges, you will love this one! Everyone pretty much knows everyone else, or at least has heard of them. You have a great relationship with all of your professors because class sizes are not huge. Overall, Wingate is pretty great!

While Wingate University is a beautiful school with a breathtaking campus, that is not the only thing Wingate is known for. From the extracurriculars to the wonderful professors there's many things to love about this university. The school is highly diverse and focuses on the importance of academics while allowing people, who need extra help, to free tutoring sessions and free counseling.

I love the environment of the campus. Overall, it is very safe and reliable especially where it is located. I would encourage and student whose looking for a good balance in academic and sports to join. The advisers are always willing to help their students and find a matching degree with their passion.

It’s amazing but expensive and I need a scholarship because if I don’t get one I won’t be able too keep attending this amazing school. Everything’s nice about it the price is my only main issue to be honest. Everyone will feel welcomed here at Wingate

Wingate University is a school a that cares about your education and what will happen in the future or after you graduate. The school feels like a home away from home and there are plenty of things that you can get involved do you won't feel alone when your away from your family. Wingate to me is a school that cares for there students and won't them to have success in the future.

I love the school. The class sizes a small great for study groups. This also helps with getting more one-on-one time with the professors. The professors want you to succeed and give multiple opportunities to do well in class. They are always available by email and normally stay after class so students can come up and ask questions. This is a beautiful campus with wonderful students and professors.

My overall view of opinion Wingate University is that it’s a decent size campus. The mentors on campus are very kind to the new upcoming freshman’s. The counselors are very help and understanding with the students. The new upcoming freshman’s have a general idea of college life.

My overall opinion of Wingate University is great. Being a commuter I still feel very welcomed and involved. The campus is always taken care of and the appearance is beautiful. The professors are readily available and I feel like the education department is excellent due to the multiple field experience and hands on opportunities.

What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
That i should have moved away from home sooner. My senior year i didnt know what i wanted to do for a career and i didn't even know where i wanted to go to college yet. I wish i could go back in time and tell myself to move down to NC sooner. The opportunities down here are endless for work in the field that i want to get into. I could have also prepared myself for the life of being alone and not being able to see my family but twice a year, a week for christmas and a week in the summer. That gets tough with a 7 year old sister and i wish i could have transitioned better with that.
The best thing about my school is the one on relationship you are able to have with professors and staff on campus. A lot of students are able to find at least one staff member on campus that is willing to help at a time when we as young adults may not have the answer whether that is in the classroom or the next step in out college career. The knowledge and the resorces that our university has is helpful to all students on similar but different paths.
What kind of person should not attend this school?
People who are looking for a big school environment should not attend this school. This school does not offer large classes, huge stadiums and to many people to count. This school is all about the small town college feel and that usually does not go over well with those who want a big time school feel such as NC State.
Here's your chance: Say anything about your college!
Wingate offers a much smaller professor to student ratio. My professors know me by name and will strike a convesation with me no matter where they see me on campus. Wingate is a tight knit community, and everyone feels like family.
What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?
While Wingate's small size and location provide many excellent opportunities, it can also be somewhat limiting. Everything needed is within a short drive, but it is almost an hour (with traffic) to Charlotte to experience the cultural and educational opportunities of a large city. Great strides have been made to improve this, but course offerings sometimes overlap or are offered infrequently, causing some tight situations with scheduling.
What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about your school?
I would tell my friends that my school is great because the class sizes are really small compared to public schools and this allows for students to get closer to their professors and learn better. Smaller class sizes allow for students to have more one on one time with their professor.
athletes should consider this school strongly, over one third of the student body is made up of athletes, male and female. it also helps to come from a family to has the financial meens to help you succeed at a univeristy which will cost over 30,000 dollars a year. People who are focused on college for the right reasons and are genuinley interested in exploring new opportunities and avenues for success will enjoy this school.
All students must apply yearly for financial aid. This process starts with the FAFSA.
Though financial aid deadlines vary by school, it is a good idea to apply as soon as possible. For the upcoming school year, you can apply as early as October 1 for the FAFSA. Additional school aid will be dependent on the FAFSA results.
