I’m excited to attend Woodbury because they are high ranking for architecture and the campus is beautiful. As a young woman from the south, the idea of spreading my wings and going to California is really exciting

I believe that Woodbury is a decent school. It is very inclusive with support for people from all ethnic groups, sexual orientations, etc. It is a fairly small school, allowing for close interactions among peers and faculty. I feel that I can communicate properly with my professors because of the small class size, as it allows them to focus more attention on their students as individuals. I like that there are lectures happening every week from outside guests as it allows exposure for students to learn knowledge and information from outside professional sources. Despite being a small school, campus life is still active and is a great way to get to know others outside of your major.

I like the education and opportunities I am getting, however, for being a private school that costs a lot of money, there is little to no social life or events on campus. The food is also horrible with no flavor, and they have a dorm building that has no AC, and with the California heatwaves it was over 100 degrees in my dorm at the beginning of my freshman year, to the point where I couldn't sleep. I know they receive lots of money so I would love to see that go back into making the school and dorms better. So, while I am receiving an amazing education and will without a doubt have a job after graduating, I have to deal with having 3 friends and nothing to do on the weekends.

as much as I like the small classrooms. The teachers never really help or even reach out.

I think Woodbury is a decent university. Class sizes are small and professors are readily available which makes the learning process easy. I dislike the fact that the university is overly expensive and that we do not always receive what we pay for and that besides all the money we spend - often we must spend our own money on our courses. We also pay a semesterly $200 fee for campus life, but we do not have a campus life and wish there was more to do and more student involvement, for example, parties and musical shows and such.

The reason why I go to Woodbury University is because of location, tuition, and their program. The location of the school is in Burbank, where animation or tv studios are nearby. There is also a shopping center so that we can get art supplies or hygiene products. The tuition is reasonable considering that other art schools such as Calarts, Art Center, UCLA, or NYFA have extremely high tuition. Finally, the pros are that Woodbury offers a strong animation program. Two-thirds of the students that attend the university desires to be animators. The two cons are that needed to be mention is the living expenses and the holes in the animation program. Since Woodbury University is located in California, the living expenses are high and doesn't offer a lot of space for the students on the campus. Even though I mention earlier that the animation program is strong, there are many improvements that the staff is working on. A couple of examples is including more 3D animation programs and updating the technology used for animation. Otherwise, Woodbury University is a great school with a warm community of artists striving to make their name in the industry.

I believe Woodbury has amazing opportunities and is willing to change potential into success. Woodbury is willing to sit down and explain everything you could ever imagine in detail. There are tons of opportunities on campus and off. They are willing to jump right in and start success right from the beginning.

Woodbury University is a small, but beautiful campus. The students and faculty are nice enough to take their time to help others and care about their wellbeing. They also offer a variety of opportunities and activities for everyone not just students.

Woodbury University is actually a great school. I love that the class sizes don't exceed 20 students which makes the classroom environment a better place to learn and be able to communicate personally with the professor during class. The Professors have their usual office hours but will meet with students during any available time. Since I only just finished my first year- I haven't had the experience to get to know many Professors, but I have had both bad and good ones. Overall, I would say Woodbury is a great school and there are many things that can improve or change also my only concern is that it is too expensive, but what can you expect from a private school.

Woodbury University is a small and extremely accessible school that offers many services to help the student feel like they can make a difference in the world. The school offers an array of majors and allows the student to discover who they are. The school can be expensive but the school also offers a scholarship to the student depending on the G.P.A the student has. The school forces the student to take an internship opportunity to enhance their chance in getting a job in the workforce. The school should offer more intensive classes to enforce all the skills required for the student to be successful at any place they decide to work at. Other than that I have had a great experience at the school so far.

Loved every second there! Everyone is so nice and simply there to help everyone out, I especially love the small classes for a one on one feel with the teacher which is what I prefer. Miss being at Woodbury so much, I made long lasting friendships and it literally felt like home.

Its a joke don't come here. They over charge for tuition and NONE of the money goes back to the students or for bettering the school

What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
Focus on your family because your focus defines your interests to both the people closest and furthest from you - the grades and eventual job will come soon enough. As far as the school work goes... DO NOT be afraid to explore different possibilities and solutions to problems. Understand that school is a stepping stone, not an "end all mean all" finale to life (sometimes that is hard to see, but the more it is understood the better the overall quality of school will be). Heed these words me of the past!
What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?
I wish I would have known that the school has many places where the students can go to either log into a computer or anything else to help with their school work.
What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?
The worst thing about my school is the layout. The parking is at the opposite end of the architecture school, which is where most of my classes are located. The parking near the architecture buildings is very small, which makes no sense because the majority of the students that are always on campus, are the architecture students.
What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about your school?
I attend the smaller campus of Woodbury located in San Diego. Due to this the campus is small, thus the student population is lower than the main campus located in Burbank. The best part about a small college community is that you get to know almost everyone. Thus creating connections with one another and having a higher chance of finding someone capable of helping you out if you're stuck on a problem.
Woodbury is known for its small class sizes and personalized learning environment. The small class sizes provide a specialized setting where students aren't afraid to grow and be creative in the classroom. The university is also known for its uniquely designed programs like Architecture and Interdisciplinary Studies.
What kind of person should not attend this school?
The type of person who shouldn't attend this school is someone who doesn't want specialized attention in the classroom. Also, someone who doesn't seek a mentor or want someone to know when they don't attend class reguraly. Woodbury offers a small setting where you are a person and not just a number or test score, that's why I chose to go there.
Here's your chance: Say anything about your college!
I have visited other schools of architecture and so far the studio culture that I have experienced in Woodbury University has not come close to the others. The space felt suffocated, each student to their own. Although there is interaction within these other school's studios, competition was a driving factor that did create a division between students.
Depending on what you pursue, you might have so much time in your hands or enough time to catch some sleep. In the end, the academics are great and professors do their part in taking different approaches to their teaching style.
All students must apply yearly for financial aid. This process starts with the FAFSA.
Though financial aid deadlines vary by school, it is a good idea to apply as soon as possible. For the upcoming school year, you can apply as early as October 1 for the FAFSA. Additional school aid will be dependent on the FAFSA results.
