John Sexton Essay Contest

The John Sexton Scholars Program for International Conflict & Peace Studies is an educational nonprofit working primarily with High School students in NJ, NY, & CT and College students across the US.Our Mission is two-fold: to promote awareness of current international crises involving conflict and displaced peoples, especially those with little media attention, and to provide substantive professional and academic opportunities to the next generation of change makers.

Jewish Family and Children's Services Scholarship

At JFCS, we annually help hundreds of Jewish students achieve these goals by providing them with loans and grants. In order to apply, you must be Jewish and have been a legal and permanent resident of Sonoma, Marin, San Francisco, San Mateo, or northern Santa Clara counties for at least two years prior to submitting your application. Must be able to demonstrate financial need based on the FAFSA and you/your family's federal tax return and have a minimum 3.0 GPA. Although not required, candidates who demonstrate a meaningful connection and/or commitment to the Jewish community are desired.

Jeff Sein Kwan Yang Memorial Scholarship

In 2007, family and friends established a memorial scholarship in honor of Jeff Sein Kwan Yang. The scholarship aims to provide financial support to students who are immigrants or children of immigrants in their pursuit of higher education. It is open to students of all ethnic backgrounds who reside in the San Gabriel Valley. Students from low-income or working-class families are especially encouraged to apply. Jeff Sein Kwan Yang believed an education broadened a person’s opportunities and possibilities. The Jeff Sein Kwan Yang Scholarship hopes to empower immigrant youths to obtain their dreams and to encourage them to give back to their community.

ISAC Monetary Award Program

MAP grants, which do not need to be repaid, are available to eligible Illinois residents who attend approved Illinois colleges and demonstrate financial need, based on the information provided on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®). You are not required to submit high school grades or test scores when applying for a MAP grant. MAP grants are not limited to traditional college-aged students. If all eligibility requirements are met, adult and non-traditional students (older than recent high school graduates) may also qualify. MAP grants can be applied only toward tuition and mandatory fees.

I/ITSEC Postgraduate Scholarship

The Interservice/Industry Training, Simulation and Education Conference (I/ITSEC) is pleased to announce the Thirty-Second Annual RADM Fred Lewis Postgraduate Scholarships and Gollobin Award. The Lewis Scholarships are being offered at a Masters level in the amount $5,000, and at a Doctoral level in the amount of $10,000. From the pool of applicants to the RADM Fred Lewis I/ITSEC Postgraduate Scholarship Recipients, one will be selected for the Gollobin Award. The scholarships are being offered to stimulate student interest and university participation in preparing individuals for leadership in the Modeling & Simulation, Training and Education communities. By investing in our future workforce, the Lewis Scholarships and Gollobin Award encourage expansion of the I/ITSEC community and promote innovation through direct investment in our community’s future leaders.

The prize was established in 1995. It is entirely endowed by a gift from Mrs. Frank (Brennie) Morgan. It is made jointly by the American Mathematical Society, the Mathematical Association of America, and the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit is seeking submissions for its essay contest. The contest is open to all students currently in grades 9 through 12 from Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, and West Virginia. Students are invited to consider and share their thoughts on the question: "Is the Fourteenth Amendment's Equal Protection Clause sufficient to secure the rights of all citizens, or is the ERA necessary to promote gender equality?
