AMS Father James B. Macelwane Awards

The purpose of this award is to stimulate interest in meteorology among college students through the submission of original student papers concerned with some phase of the atmospheric sciences. The student must be enrolled as an undergraduate at the time the paper is written, and no more than two students from any one institution may enter papers in any one contest.

Waymon Webster Scholarship Fund

Inspired by Scott’s grandfather, the scholarship seeks to enrich and empower the lives of Black youth by extending educational opportunities to help them achieve their dreams. Scott said, “my grandfather wanted me to take it all the way through college. I feel there is a power in education so to be able to give someone the opportunity to fulfill that dream as my papa thought for me is amazing.” This scholarship provides financial support to students and families towards final tuition fees, in order for as many students as possible to graduate and receive their college diploma.

$6,000 Upskill Scholarship

As part of its Upskilling 2025 plan, NGT Academy pledged $7 Million in February 2021 to offer 1,000 students access to education and skills training programs through 2025. For families who qualify, the Upskill 2025 Scholarship Program can reduce NGT Academy tuition costs by up to 63%. Candidates should submit their NGT Academy application as soon as possible in order to qualify for the scholarship

Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education (TEACH) Grant

A TEACH grant awards $4,000 per year to students studying in an eligible program. Students must also agree to teach in a high-need field as a certified teacher. They must commit to teach in this field for at least four years. There is also required counseling to complete before receiving a TEACH Grant.

Federal Pell Grant

A Federal Pell Grant is a source of financial aid. Usually, to receive a Pell Grant, you must be an undergraduate who has not yet earned a bachelor’s, graduate or professional degree. Unlike a loan, you do not have to repay it as long as you meet the conditions. These include withdrawing from your program early.

Fox Pest Control Scholarship

Entrants must meet all of the following conditions to participate: At the conclusion of the entry period, you must 1.) Be at least 18 years of age, 2.) Hard Work Pays Off Scholarship - Heart of Virginia

The Warren Firm, a small personal injury law firm based in Charlottesville, Virginia, has created the Hard Work Pays Off Scholarship – a $2,500 scholarship available to graduating high school seniors from the following Virginia counties: Appomattox, Charlotte, Lunenburg, Nottoway, Amelia, Cumberland, Buckingham, and Prince Edward.
