Arkansas State University feels like home with the campus size and close proximity to resources that I need. I would not have to take a shuttle to various places on campus. I would not feel as lost or another student id number being on a campus of this size.

Arkansas State University stood out to me the most due to their level of diversity, the amount of resources they have on campus, and the friendliness of staff. ASU also offers a scholarship called the "The Promise Plus", where incoming students can attend for free.

As I attend Arkansas State University as a third generation, I want to truly submerge myself as a Red Wolf, and get involved in the culture and community. Like my parents chose to do by opening our home to foster care, I too want to leave my mark, and be a positive impact in people’s lives. My goal is to not only become a pediatric chiropractor, but to continue to be a role model for my little sisters. I want to show them that no matter your disabilities or hardships, by making smart choices and setting priorities, that they too can have happy successful lives.

When visiting Arkansas State's campus, I thought it was a beautiful place. Another thing that stuck out to me was how friendly everyone was. While I did decide it is smarter for me personally to stay at home and complete a two year program, If I were to decide I wanted to move away and go to a four year university, Arkansas State is my first choice!

My opinion of Arkansas State University is primarily positive. I enjoy being on campus and getting to meet new people and make new friends. The atmosphere of the campus is inviting and friendly. It is a little intimidating at first sight but you start to get used to the way things operate sooner or later. I got pretty comfortable on campus pretty quickly. I made friends in classes and it made the experience much better. Most professors are eager to meet you and to help you if needed. Arkansas State University gives you real college experience.

I have only visited. But it seems very unkept and nice. The staff seem to care about the student’s academics and involvement. It’s seems a little overwhelming of course. But Everyone seems nice and focused on their goals. Which I admire.

I believe that there are employees who come to work to collect a pay check and then leave. There are a large portion of staff who are just not helpful to students. I have had good experiences with some faculty and staff, but some very bad experiences too. If the school prioritized academics instead of sports or greek life then it would be a better place.

It needs to have more exciting events and opportunities for students. The food is good but think we should have more options when it comes to food selections. Most of all I believe the prices for the food along with the meal plans should decrease enough for those who can not afford a meal plan. Tuitions along takes the majority of the students funds especially when there are those who do not receive refund checks after so long. This act forces students to spend unnecessary money on items they should need unless it’s pertains to the person’s inquiry.

I will not be attending Arkansas State University- Main Campus ful time until the fall of 2019, but I have taken many off-campus courses and visited all the facilities the college has to offer multiple times. Based on my various experiences on campus, I would say that A-state is second home. Whether you know someone or not, your family. Everyone is welcoming and eager to learn more about you, there are always activities going on, and the red wolves loves a good game of football or basketball!

It is a great school. It’s big enough that you can meet someone new each semester, but small enough that you can form personable relationships with anyone. The professors are tough for the most part, but in a way that betters the students. I could not imagine going anywhere else.

What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
Be prepared for college as best you can. Study hard and don't take extra credit for granted. When it comes down to a decision between going to the movies with your friends or studying for your finals, be smart and study. Make good friends, take good notes, and when it's all said and done and you receive that diploma, you'll know what all your hardwork was for. Stay focused and look forward not behind.
Here's your chance: Say anything about your college!
For those that don't have transportation, the college offers many ways to get it. The college is also located in a part in town where there are plenty of places to eat to go on a walking distance off campus.Professors are very understanding of any problems that you have.
ASU has a good learning environment. There's plenty of things to help you in subjects outisde of class if you are struggling. There is also plenty of extra curricular activites and student based organizations to meet people. Most faculty members are very helpful and give you the tools you need to do well in the class.
Some seem to know exactly what they want to do in life and some of us are just lost in the wind. We are hopeful, lost but still going forward, confused but confident. I think that's just how you have to be when attending college for the first time.
Arkansas State University is well known for the friendly students. I remember my first day and how it was so easy to get along with everyone. The campus has a lot of diversity through the students and the teachers. There hasnt been a single day that I have gone to class and not met someone friendly. Everyone there is very smart and easy to get along with, which makes learning for me easier!
ASU is just right! It is a medium sized school. There are not too many people, but there are enough the the student population is diverse. You can do anything you are interested in at ASU. There is a degree plan for everyone. There are plenty of people that can help and guide you in the right direction as well. The town of Jonesboro is a good size as well. There are plenty of tasty reasonably priced restaurants and fun things to do. One of the only few gripes I have about ASU and Jonesboro is that things close early. The places to eat on campus close by 8 or 9 pm and most places around town close by 9 or 10. I don't like that people at ASU wear shirts from other colleges. There are a lot of razorback fans. On the plus side, no one will pick on you for wearing merchandise from another college. Except for at the football games. The games are always full of ASU pride.
What is the stereotype of students at your school? Is this stereotype accurate?
I think the stereotype of kids at my school is that they are a bunch of redneck farmers. While ASU does have one of the top Agriculture programs in the state, there are many more types of people. I believe ASU has a very diverse population. No matter your interests or personality type there is a place to fit in at ASU.
Is the stereotype of students at your school accurate?
No, when I researched biology programs around the country I found that the place where I could get the best education and the best chance of getting into a prestigious graduate school without breaking the bank was Arkansas State. They have leading faculty, which you actually get to interact with, and great degree programs, all for a very affordable tuition.
My classes are really tough this semester, but I planned it to be a hard semester this term so my last semester was lighter. Even though my classes are really tough, I am learning more than I ever have. The professors are great and teach using a variety of methods. They don't just lecture.
It is pretty chill, but I do wonder what it would be like at and HBCU with their greek life. I was practically raised at an HBCU as a child and my expectations for greek life at a non-HBCU have disappointed me.
