The student Body here at Auburn is great. Everyday when people walk on the concourse there is a different club or association one can sign up for. People are very friendly and outgoing.

Auburn definatly misses out on student diversity. Every girl looks and dresses the same and every guy does also. I am guilty of this. I wear the same nike shorts that every girl wears but i dont like it. Where are the purple mohawks and dreds? We need individualism. i was a part of dAUnce my freshman year and we had a coeographer from NYC come down to work with our group. He made the same comment. He said that we all looked just alike. I dont think students are even aware of this until it is brought to their attention.

The student body seems to definitely have there small clique-like groups. I think it is only a natural thing that people separate like that according to like interests etc. I really don't see too many incidents where different groups hate each other. I feel like there are plenty of groups of people that most anyone could find a place to fit in at Auburn as long as they are willing to go and put themselves out there. I think in the past the majority of people that came to Auburn were from Alabama, but now I think there is a whole mix of places people are from.

Everyone is kind of the same in general but have their own individuality at the same time. I think anyone not from the south would feel at least a little out of place depending on their background and feelings..

I havent witnessed any racial or religious controversies. I always wear nike shorts and tshirts to class but thats because I like to be comfortable. Most other girls wear the same thing.

Like I said before, Auburn is a very diverse campus and has a place for EVERYONE to fit in. I feel like everyone is respectful of one another because there is every type of person with every type of background on campus. I know that probably could be said about most campuses, but at Auburn no one is discriminated against. We have an organization or greek organization for every race, lifestyle, major, political preference, activity, etc. that you could ever think of! Of course there are many students from Alabama, but we have a student from every state in the nation and many from other countries! I would say the most prevelant states people are from besides Alabama are Georgia, Tennessee, Texas, and Florida. We have a ton of Texas people here! They love Auburn! People are very laid back here, which is one of my favorite things... No one gets dressed up to go to class or anything like that. Most people wear t-shirt and sweatpants kind of thing and many girls don't wear makeup to class. I personally don't wear makeup to class just because I don't think it's necessary and I can't get out of bed on time to do it! Another aspect of Auburn that I love is the fact that most students are not "stuck up" or too concerned with money. Of course there are the handful of people like that, but generally most students are more concerned with how to save money. Our leaders on campus, such as SGA, are very easy to work with and are very helpful with addressing problems. They are just another Auburn student and work closely with the student body. We have lunches set up with our dean of students every month that any student can attend to discuss the problems on campus that is very helpful. We are also known for our amazing benefits and accessibilities for students with disabilities. Auburn will find a way to help these students and the students on campus are very accepting of the people with disabilities. I am a member of a greek sorority on campus and I was very unsure of whether or not I wanted to rush as a freshman because I didn't want to "pay for my friends" or be associated with a group of spastic girls! Well I decided to after alot of convincing and I don't think I could have ever made a better decision! Auburn's greeks (mostly the sororities) are very different than they are on other campuses. On Auburn's campus you DO NOT have to be greek to "fit in" or be a part of something special. Unlike other campuses, our greek system only compromises about 15{4a082faed443b016e84c6ea63012b481c58f64867aa2dc62fff66e22ad7dff6c} of campus, if even that much... Our sororities are VERY diverse when it comes to types of girls in them. Yes, the 16 panhellenic sororities on campus comprise mostly of caucasian girls, but there are also many girls with asian, hispanic, etc. backgrounds. We have a whole seperate greek system for the african americans, as it is on any other campus, but both systems support each other which makes it fun for everyone. Greeks are not really frowned upon by the non-greeks on Auburn's campus because everyone associates together. I have ALOT of friends who aren't greek and they love it because that's how they find out what's going on or they have connections for different kinds of activities. I just want to stress the fact that most people on Auburn's campus aren't greek and whether you are or aren't you will fit in and everyone associates with one another.

I have found that most students wear jeans and a t-shirt to class. Everyone dresses very casual, so I feel right at home.

The student's at Auburn are mostly conservative christians from the south...not to say that they are the only people who exist on campus but they seem to be the majority. Everyone dresses pretty casually to class, usually shorts and a t-shirt. It seems that people arent trying to impress others while in class...which makes for a more relaxed atmosphere which I really like.

I do not believe that any student would feel out of place at Auburn. It has so many opportunities for different people to get involved or to become active. There are too many opportunities not to! Getting involved also goes hand-in-hand with academics at Auburn-- you get out of it what you put into it.

I loved that Auburn was very diverse. I felt that that was one of the most important aspects of my education--interacting with so many different types of people. My freshman year I had one suitemate that basically lived on a "plantation" and owned a town, another was from a small farm. There is an excellent mix of in state and out of state students. I can't imagine any student that could not find a group or set of friends. I think Auburn would fall on the conservative side. But that would not be surprising considering it is located in Alabama.
