I have experienced constant change with turnover at university with academic advisors, teachers, and chair for our elementary program. Each semester seemed to bring new advisors and teachers due to staff departures or reassignments. This situation made it difficult to plan my academic path effectively. Each advisor had different perspectives on course selection, career advice, and even personal development strategies. Consequently, I often felt like I was navigating my academic journey alone, without consistent guidance or mentorship.

As a future Spartan living near AU (and I mean less than 10 minutes away), I have already found this little institution to be even more inviting and beautiful than what my high school has to offer. From what I've seen from the professors and educational opportunities, it seems like I may be able to blossom in studies in which I may genuinely be interested.

Aurora University is a great a great place to take your career to another level. They are really helpful and its a really nice environment to be apart of. They have a really good nursing program that helps nurses go further into their career. It also another way to interact with others and learn about other people.

Great school, they get to know the student. You can schedule 1on1 for extra help. Safe campus, surrounded by 24/7 safety patrol. You cannot drink on campus or outside of campus. You get free counseling and if you need any COVID testing it’s free! Total score on a school.

Aurora University has a very tight-knit and diverse community. Several resources and activities are available throughout campus for all kinds of interests. The professors look for your best interest both in academics and your future success. Most professors have specific office hours availability but many respond to emails outise of those specific hours.

I am a non traditional student that takes online classes. I love the professors and feel that they are really knowledgeable about their topics. They all respond quickly to emails and are willing to help when help is needed. Many of them also provide zoom meetings to checking in as an optional resource as well.

It's a good place to learn. The professors all seem to have lots of experience in their field so they do a good job of preparing us for life after college. They are all very knowledgeable about their field and so they can answer any questions that we might have.
Dulce
I had a difficult time just because my program closed in the middle of my 2nd semester there. I was just not a fan of how the situation was handled at the beginning of that process. once we all got together to request a meeting with the university's president and the board of education i felt a lot better to know that we had the option of getting taught out. They really did pick good adjuncts it was just difficult to meet with them outside of class time.

I love it so much. Everyone is so friendly and willing to help. The professors are very knowledgeable about their topics and they are very helpful. The other staff is also extremely fantastic. They never push aside a student and always make us feel like a priority.

I visited the campus only once and fell in love and knew this would be the place for me to further my volleyball and academic career. Aurora has a great nursing program that i am so excited to be in. They have very nice simulation rooms that put you in a real hospital setting. Overall Aurora university is a great place to go.

Overall this is a decent school if you live in this area, but I do not see the reason other than scholarships for people to come here from out of state. The campus is somewhat right smack-dab in the middle of a neighborhood so the campus is small in itself and so is campus life.
Adriana
During every single visit I have ever had, I always felt safe and welcomed by everyone. I always see smiling faces, people hanging out in the quad, tossing a ball around. The new sports complex is my favorite edition to the school, and as a future spartan athlete, I cannot express my excitement to play on the new field with my new teammates. I love the school and everything it had to offer, and I cannot wait for my freshman year to begin!
Lauren
This is my second year at this university and so far I have had a great experience. My teachers have been great and my adviser is always available for me to ask questions. What I really like is they allow you to register for classes early, so I was able to register for my last year and a half of school on Monday.
Lizette
It seems like a great school, everyone is pretty friendly and helpful. The campus is nice and they have many places nearby, they don't have enough parking but the rest of the school is great. The staff seems pretty helpful and really nice which makes you feel very welcoming.
Karina
I live very close to Aurora University, about 15 away by car. I chose this school because it small and very academically inclined. My classes are often no bigger than 15-20 people and I, personally, love that fact. My professors are always encouraging me to visit during office hours and I always feel like they’re willing to talk to me and help me succeed. I am a History Major and I think that my department is so well staffed for my future career goals. The professors are extremely knowledgeable, not only in their field, but in ways to join clubs, honor societies, or internships that will help further career and lengthen your resume. I am very happy with my undergraduate school of choice and am excited to see how it benefits my future.
The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Aurora University is 87%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020, _____ students were offered admission.
What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
Advice to my former high school self,
I want to tell you to be BRAVE. In college you will meet many new people, you will have many opportunities, and you will experience growth both personally and academically. Be brave and do not let your fear of the unknown dissuade you from trying new things and taking the leap of faith that may be necessary.
I want to tell you to be CONFIDENT. Remember what you are good at, don't just focus on what you struggle with. We all have strengths and weaknesses, they are part of what makes us human. Take the time to puff out your chest and pat yourself on the back, you are good enough, you are smart enough, and you got this!
I want to tell you to BREATHE. Take a moment and just breathe. Remember that it is okay to take a moment for yourself and just relax. Actually, do it... now... put the book down, walk away from that computer and take a deep breath. Your work will be better for it, just trust me on this one.
Lastly, I want to remind you to ENJOY. Enjoy the experience of a lifetime.
What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?
Upon atttending Aurora University I wish I would have recieved more guidance when it came to the financial aid process. The school itself did not help me with the process and I was extremely lost and upset with my financial sitiuation. Once the school knew I was atttending and recieved my deposit I was all alone from there, they did not seem to care in the student account office about my situation and unfourtantetly did nothing to help.
The best thing about Aurora University is its' size and tight knit enviornment. There are about 2,000 undergraduate students here. I liked this because I knew that when I began attending classes I would get much more one on one attention and really be able get the most out of my education. One of my favorite things about this campus is that everyone knows everyone and as a student you never feel left out or uncomfortable. The smaller atmosphere is really what attracted me to Aurora University.
What kind of person should not attend this school?
A person who is looking to party every night and likes hiding in the back of the classroom. Our class sizes are no bigger than 30 people. Although, Students of Aurora University do have parties, if you are the kind of student who would rather party that study, Aurora University is not the best choice for you. Students do go out and party and have fun, but it is not likely to happen every night when a student is trying to keep up with their studies and class work.
I believe that the people that will attend this university should be friendly, because there are a lot of people that enjoy meeting new people. In this university there is a lot of diversity, so people attending the university should be willing to meet people from everywhere. Since the university is not so big, it is easy to meet many people and interact with them. Also individuals that want to attend Aurora University should like to participate, because there are a lot of clubs, and sports that students can enroll.
My classmates here are able to focus in on our objectives for future careers which is just as important as building the knowledge needed for any of our education. Making our career a strong priority in our life has definitely become a must.
Here's your chance: Say anything about your college!
Aurora University has a close-knit community feel to it. As a small school, students are able to develop great relationships with their peers, professors, and others on campus. This is extremely beneficial, not only in terms of developing long-lasting relationships, but educationally as well. Because of the small size of AU, students are able to benefit from working closely with their professors. This helps with learning, but is also a great way to network and branch out for job possibilities in the future.
My school is best known for the quality of education. Many students who go to Aurora University leave with a very valuable education. Many people know Aurora University for the extraordinary nursing, elementary education, and social work programs. Students who graduate from Aurora University have great opportunities in the job field because of the education recieved from AU.
All students must apply yearly for financial aid. This process starts with the FAFSA.
Though financial aid deadlines vary by school, it is a good idea to apply as soon as possible. For the upcoming school year, you can apply as early as October 1 for the FAFSA. Additional school aid will be dependent on the FAFSA results.
