Choosing a college is one of the most important decisions a student can make, as it can have a lasting impact on their academic, professional, and personal development. My experience with Bergen Community College so far has been excellent. The campus has a lot to offer and the staff are very friendly and welcoming.

I believe that overall, Bergen Community College is a decent school to go to for an affordable education. Obviously, it won't have the same kind of expensive or high quality things you may see other schools have, but they certainty give you a good and worthy education. The staff is also mainly friendly, from my experience, and they are all very open and welcome to helping students out and are especially big on helping their students move on to 4 year schools after graduation. They offer a variety of decent services, as well, and are overall a good school to go to, especially when you want to save money.

I remember when I first came to Bergen Community College. I was in the school band in middle school who was was participating in the music and arts festival. I didn\\\'t get to explore the whole college at the time and I only remember going in the main building and the technology center. A couple years later, I was graduating high school and was going to Bergen Community College in Paramus. It was my first time coming back to the campus in 6 years and the campus is a lot bigger than I remembered. Ever since I enrolled, I made new college friends, met nice professor and enjoyed the food they serve. Before, I wanted to go to a four year school, but I am happy I chose to go to Bergen Community College. Bergen Community College is one of the best colleges in the state of New Jersey.

Bergen Community College has a lot of opportunities for students with its many available resources. Teachers love to interact and help on a one on one level, and most of them have a good curriculum. The college is always evolving and getting better without inconveniencing students. The parking is definitely one of the downsides to the campus. Getting out of there during a fire drill is not the best of situations and there are many people who drive to campus but I did find parking in the early mornings. The street leading to and from the campus can be very crowded most days and it’s so narrow, accidents tend to happen. Visually, the campus is something I should also mention. Its beautiful! So much green, so many trees. I also become a golf course at some point! The campus seems very extensive but getting around it is very easy. It was never a task to grab some food with friends in between breaks, and I would always bump into someone that I knew. The food options there are pretty great too. The cafeteria upstairs even has a Subway and a Nathans! Once you get your food, you can just eat inside or they have outside seating available too! There was always something to hear about on the bulletin boards or in our emails. Staff at the college kept in touch often with students as well and definitely always offered to help. All of these components made my overall experience, a Very great one!

The Bergen Community College is a good place to start if you don't were to start or don't know were to transfer to what college to go to. The guidance counselor is great, professors are good, the food is great, there is no on-campus housing and there is a lot clubs that you could hang out.

At first I was very spectacle of Bergen Community College, because well its a community college but after attending, that stereotype that was clouding my brain went away. College is about learning and getting your education on, it doesn't matter if its a 4 year or 2 year school as long as you're able to pursue your passion and learn many things in the process. Its very easy to become friends with people at BCC our community seems very close and the people here are very friendly. This school has taught me a lot of things about myself that I didn't know, its shown me the path that I want to pursue in the future. I'm very glad that I was able to attend this school when I was utterly lost in what I wanted to do next when I graduated high school.

I think Bergen Community College is a great way to start off your college experience and the expense is way better than a four year university. Also people at Bergen seem to be very friendly and helpful.

I've had a great time at Bergen Community College. The professors that I had were all informative and thorough with their teaching. I would find myself speaking about our lectures and thinking about them for the rest of the day. The campus is easy to navigate and clean. I felt confident in getting from one building to another, and/or from one wing to another. I've accomplished finishing my associates degree here, enabling me to obtain a bachelor's at another institution in the future.

Bergen Community College is a college located in Paramus. New Jersey. It's a two-year public community college founded in 1965. The college has three different locations, Paramus being the main campus with another in Lyndhurst, and Hackensack. Most people graduate and then transfer to a four year while other graduate with certificate's and associate degrees. The health professions building is new and amazing with modern technology and tools. In the health professions the programs may be accredited. For instance I attend the Sonography/Ultrasound program if that interests anyone. The college is diverse and people are friendly in case you get lost or confused. Overall the teachers are also very kind and stick to their office hours. If you're unsure about professors you can check ratemyprofessors.com to see reviews written by actual students. Although it is a community college that doesn't mean its a crazy and not a good education. You will still receive a good education and even other possible opportunities for instance a job. Frequently they host job or careers fairs and other events. Be sure to attend them. Good luck and hopefully you love the school.

I love Bergen Community College, I've learned so much here since I've started. Every professor I've ever had is more then helpful and wants their students to learn and succeed. I wish they offered further degrees such as bachelor programs because I would love to stay here as long as possible.

I really love this school and all of the staff are extremely helpful in guiding you to whatever field you're interested in. The professors care deeply about their student's success and are always available for help. The locations of the campuses and flexibility to take classes on any of the campuses is great, all of them are super convenient.

Overall Bergen Community College has amazing classes and professors but when it comes to administration, your better if administrating yourself. They have a lot of students running students and sometimes that’s not the best when your trying to get more in-depth information.

The highlight of my 2 and a half years there was the parking. I've heard the worst things about university parking, like paying 200 for a permit and not guaranteed a parking spot so this is heaven. So much parking! I was a commuter and I wasn't too invested in the school activities. I either had work before class or right after, so my involvement was extremely limited. The times I did attend activities, they were for the art club, which wasn't handled very well. But there were a bunch of clubs for a variety of people, so there generally was something for everybody. Financial aid was the biggest headache ever, but with the new self service, it was easy to stay on track of your financial aid, how much you had to pay out of pocket, and a general estimation of how much you would need for supplies. But my best advice I'll ever give you is to immediately sit down and have a chat with this one counselor. Brian was THE BEST counselor. He helped me get a rough outline of what I SHOULD do at Bergen if you're just going for Gen Ed requirements and then transferring out. He gave me a list of schools that Bergen had a partnership with (Like Fairleigh Dickinsons $15k partnership scholarship) and even helped me get out of bergen faster (CLEPP exam will help you a lot!) He even gave me a list of professors to speak with about my career goals that relate to my specific field of interest. Most of my professors were super chill or really invested in their craft. My Art History professors were THE BEST and were really interested in their subject and were nice and understanding. Ratemyprofessor is your best friend, especially if you are just doing gen ed classes. Helps you weed out the worst professors to take. I didn't do that my first semester and my writing 101 prof was the worst. Some professors are hit or miss so learn from your mistakes. Overall my experience was decent. If you check your email constantly, use self service, and ask for advice, you will do fine.

The college is pretty big for a community college. It has most of the things one would need for studying and growing as an overall student who plan to transfer to a four year college or who are here to get an associates degree. There are plenty of activities and sports that the students would enjoy doing. Classes also are better as the professors try their best to make the students know what they are studying by making them take quizzes and doing projects.
The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Bergen Community College is 100%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020, _____ students were offered admission.
What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
My advice to my younger self would be to have some patience. At that age, my mindset was to do as little school as possible so I could start working full-time and make money as soon as possible. So instead of going to college, I tried to cut corners by going to a 10 month trade school. Let?s just say that the only thing I have to show from going to that school is a large school bill, for which I am still trying to pay. Having a college degree is invaluable. Most companies will choose an individual with a degree over someone with experience.
If I would have been able to warn myself about these facts, I could have saved myself a lot of time and money.
What is the stereotype of students at your school? Is this stereotype accurate?
There are plenty of classmates that I have spoken to that have no interest in how well they perform in school; they attend BCC because their parents force them to go to school. But there are also a lot of very successful and motivated students here. The library is always packed with people reading, or studying, as well as socializing. I'd say that BCC's stereotype is 50{4a082faed443b016e84c6ea63012b481c58f64867aa2dc62fff66e22ad7dff6c} accurate.
I believe any kind of person should attend Bergen Community College. It is a very diverse college. Not much competition. Everyone is basically focused on their own thing. This school has many clubs and activities that everyone can do. Not many community colleges have sports but Bergen Community College does. I am actually a student athlete, I play softball.
Describe how your school looks to someone who's never seen it.
Bergen Community College has a very diverse student body and an outsanding faculty and staff that guide you and keep you focused on what needs to be done.
For a community college the school has a massive mix of cultural and ethnic backgrounds. There are about 80+ different nationalities involved with the school. The education is coming from professors who have studied at world class universities from all around the world. The school is just about right in its size. Peoples reactions towards the school might pass it off as an average school of education, but until you've stepped inside one of the classrooms you will realize the type of learning environment a person is in. This is a fantastic center for public education and for students who wish to transfer to a four year institution after the completion of two years at Bergen.
The diversity of the students is one because you get insight on so many ethnic cultures and subcultures. The faculty are really passionate about their field and very supportive and help students who are interested in pursuing that field. It has agreements with many great schools such as NYU and Columbia through Honor's programs. THERE IS STUDY ABROAD FOR HONOR'S STUDENTS!
What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?
I wish i knew what my parents have lived through and how much they want me and my sister to have easier lives, which is why they always encourage us to study and maintain our gpa's. I realize now that through hard work and getting good grades i will eventually obtain my goal to teach special needs children. I plan on staying focused and reaching my goal someday and making my parents proud.
What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about your school?
i brag about how easy the teachers are to talk to and how their really concerned about our welfare. I also brag about the various mentoring programs and tutoring programs available. There is absolutely no room for failure with all the opportunity for help available. I love my school and it is a great stepping stone for me before I attend university.
All students must apply yearly for financial aid. This process starts with the FAFSA.
Though financial aid deadlines vary by school, it is a good idea to apply as soon as possible. For the upcoming school year, you can apply as early as October 1 for the FAFSA. Additional school aid will be dependent on the FAFSA results.
