Rowan University overall is a wonderful place. Every professor I've had so far has been passionate, inclusive, and helpful both inside and outside the classroom. They are genuine and encourage students to work together and ask for help if needed. The campus itself is beautiful and has a varied collection of shops and areas for social gatherings. The university is always working towards improvement for the betterment of students' experiences.

Rowan University is a very diverse campus with many opportunities to meet new people, add good things to your resume, or just have fun.

My experience at Rowan University was shorter than most others since I was a transfer student. I entered as a junior and everyone was very welcome. The faculty is helpful and supports the success of students. If you are doing poorly there is plenty of tutoring available or you can meet one-on-one with your professor to discuss your poor grades and they will help you come up with a plan to do better. There are plenty of clubs, volunteering opportunities, and campus events available. One downside for me was the Pre-Health Office and I was a pre-dental student. The office provides plenty of great opportunities for pre-medical students but less so for pre-dental. The club is horrible for pre-dental students and the Pre-Health Office seems to mainly focus on volunteer opportunities for pre-med. Luckily, I was able to research and find great dental volunteer opportunities on my own. On the contrary, the office was very helpful in writing a committee letter for my dental school applications and I received five interview invitations and got accepted into three schools. I don't know about any of the sports at Rowan since I don't get involved in that area. The area feels quite safe, I have not had any security concerns. I commuted to class so I don't know what the on-campus living is like, but many students I spoke to felt comfortable. Overall, I would rate my experience as great regarding education and relationships with faculty. They are very kindhearted and love it when you keep them updated with the steps toward your career!

From the first day I started attending Rowan University, I have loved being here. I staff are truly here to help and guide me through my education journey. And I have found a wonderful Christian club, called Chi Alpha in which I have found lifelong friends and grown in my relationship with God.

I believe it is a great local college for the people of New Jersey.

its a great school. I would recommend it.
Robert - 09/29/2020
Overall, It's a pretty good school. I finished two semesters there and 9 of my 10 professors were absolutely wonderful people I genuinely loved talking to. The social scene could be better at the University but overall its pretty alright still. I was in several clubs, both sports related and not. Made a lot of good friends, it was a blast. There is a huge selection of clubs and sports at Rowan. Academically, I have heard great things about several of the programs including engineering, music and writing. I should say, I have transferred out but it had nothing to do with Rowan, I simply had an opportunity and took it. I will never forget my 2 semesters at Rowan, it was glorious.

I think Rowan University is awesome. It's very welcoming to all people and inside and outside of the classroom. The food court has lots of options and happy workers. All the students here always seem to be happy and welcoming of others. All the buildings on campus are new or updated. Most of the dorms are over 40 years old and need updating, but are suitable.

Good tutition rates and good education. I've had lots of opportunities for enrichment. However, the college is growing too fast to keep up and administration, public safety, and parking are all huge issues. Despite the small class sizes they boast, it's still difficult to get help from the general offices and making a tutoring appointment is difficult. For the most part the teachers in my department are qualified and helpful. Rowan's software is wildly out of date and they make it difficult to appeal your grade. Overall, I would give it a middle ranking because it has about an equal amount of positives and negatives.

Rowan University has many great aspects to it such as the size of the campus, classroom sizes, dorms, and the number of students attending. The classes at Rowan are like high school classes, consisting of around 20-30 students maximum. This allows for more in-depth conversations and enables students to talk to their professors privately. Professors at Rowan will always try their best to help students who want to learn more and try in class. There are about 20,000 students who attend this school, so while it is very diverse, you will also run into a lot of familiar faces. This is great for making friends and keeping in contact with them. The dorms are also very nice and come with air conditioning and heating. Rowan University is also big on Greek Life, so there are parties going on almost 5 nights a week. The downfall of Rowan is that parking is very hard to find and the parking lots are far away from the buildings. Overall, Rowan University is a great school and full of motivated students.
Nayyirah - 04/19/2020
Rowan University is the school for me the students and faculty in the music department have done nothing by kind to me no matter what I ask about and they are honest to me about their experiences on campus. I knew that the school will benefit me in my higher education.
Colleen - 04/15/2020
Rowan is close to home and an easy commute. My Professors are easily accessible through email during this Pandemic, which allows me to feel like I am still learning with the same quality as in person. There are so many restaurants to walk to, and the overall environment is welcoming.
Olivia - 04/03/2020
I visited Rowan University on numerous occasions and it was absolutely impeccable. The life on campus is so amazing, the food is good, the people are so nice, I already made an abundance of friends through group chats and many more! I can not wait to attend this college to further my education and have an amazing college experience!
Tiffany - 03/13/2020
It is a great school that provides many opportunities for their students. They bring in people to have discussions, build new buildings and are thinking of the future. Everyone on campus is nice and welcoming. Rowan is a growing and thriving community
Alex - 09/13/2019
Rowan University is not a first choice school. I would say “you get what you pay for,” but it still manages to be a bit overpriced for what they offer. The academics are a hit-or-miss. Your professors will either be super amazing or amazingly awful. The food is rather unhealthy (usually too much salt or grease) and the menu never changes, so you get tired of it pretty quickly. It’s not too far from the city of Philadelphia, if you’re looking for something to do that isn’t partying. Rowan is also surprisingly diverse, considering it’s in suburban New Jersey. All in all, Rowan is pretty average. Nothing to write home about.
The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Rowan University is 71%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020, _____ students were offered admission.
What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
dont shut yourself in during the first year, socalize and dont be so uptight because its only one year and you can find a balance
What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?
Construction creates problems in areas all over, but currently Rowan is under major construction. Traffic around campus is horrible, sounds of drills and trucks wake you up at all hours, and sometimes certain parts of campus are shut down due to it. I absolutely love Rowan so far but the ongoing construction is a huge nusance. Even though I understand that when it is done the university will be majorly improved, it is presently the one aspect I consider the worst thing about my school.
What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?
Before I came to Rowan University, I wish that I knew more about financial aid. Over the semesters I have attended at Rowan, I have been offered no financial aid because the government says my parents make too much money. This came as quite a shock to me because my parents struggle to keep up with bills at home, which often makes me wonder how much a person has to struggle to receive government assistance for school. I also wish I knew about the various amounts of scholarship opportunities available.
What's the most frustrating thing about your school?
The beaurocracy associated with every university that forces you to get a bit of the run around when trying to get things done. While people can be very helpful, they cannot always answer what you need and you need to go to someone else.
Best thing about Rowan is definitely the people. If you make the smallest effort to go out and meet people, you will. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming. Worst thing, would have to be parking.
The professors are Rowan are great. In my time there, I made connections with the faculty in my major and even members not within my major. They take the time to get to know you and make the experience that much more personal.
Many people go Greek but many people don't. They throw most of the parties and walk around in nothing but their letters, but they don't run the school or anything. Greek students are just like any other students.
All students must apply yearly for financial aid. This process starts with the FAFSA.
Though financial aid deadlines vary by school, it is a good idea to apply as soon as possible. For the upcoming school year, you can apply as early as October 1 for the FAFSA. Additional school aid will be dependent on the FAFSA results.
86% of students attending Rowan University receive some sort of financial aid.
31% were awarded federal grants.65%received federal loans. Many students do also need to apply for additional private student loans.
