I am interested in Big Bend Community College because of the majors it offers. This school has a good reputation when it comes to their many programs. BBCC is affordable and close to home, it also has a very active community.

I am currently at BBCC as a running start student about to start the 3rd semester of my 1st year. It's alright. The classes I have taken so far are pretty easy, and I'm only paying around 180-220 dollars each semester, so it's very affordable. But other than that, it's pretty boring. They recently reopened the cafeteria, which is good, but the food is just ok, and I wouldn't pay for it. And there's no other food within walking distance of the campus. The best part is that they sometimes, maybe twice a semester, have a food or coffee truck come, and students get free food or a free drink.

It's not the best but it's also not awful. In my experience its hard-to-find professors that are actually helpful and care. Some keep regular office hours and others don't. It is also difficult to get in touch with some advisors let alone get a meeting with them.

i think it is a great school to be in, a lot of new fun ways to get involved and not feel left out. i really like the sports they are super fun and a good way to hang with your class mates. i haven't yet been in the classroom but i have been around practicing for wrestling and i already feel super welcomed and present

Big Bend Community College is a good school for local kids wanting to stay local for a few more years and ease into the college experience. In my opinion I would not go to Big Bend if I lived more than a few hours away. I am at Big Bend to compete my Associate's Degree while I am still in high school. I enjoy school and feel really safe. I like the class sizes because it is a lot like my high school experience. There are two main degrees at Big Bend, Nursing and Aviation, and they are both wonderful programs. In all, I think Big Bend Community College is a great school for locals who want to get ahead in high school or whom want to be a nurse or pilot.

I am going to be graduating Big Bend this upcoming quarter and I have had a blast at this school. The staff is very nice and understanding, and the environment is great for anyone. This is a great school to attend in order to save money. I am doing the running start program and will be graduating with a direct transfer degree in Arts, and Science. The following quarter I will be attending CWU. I highly recommend this school to anyone who is trying to save money.

So far I am really liking it. Big Bend Community College is a fairly small college, which I personally like. The staff seem knowledgeable about the subjects that they are teaching. I personally don't take part in a lot of the extracurricular activities, because I have a family, but so far education wise I like it.

I didn't want to create this review but it made me and I said things I didn't know would be public and it won't let me delete it. So, now I'm making a new one where I'm just saying this. So yeah it would be nice for them to delete that because I wasn't planning on everyone seeing it.

I enjoy it. It is a good stepping stone if you want to move onto a university. The teachers are all very nice and understanding. I am a running start student so I attend Big Bend to finish up my high school credits. All the students and staff are very friendly and understanding. No one judges and life is good in Moses Lake.

My rating overall is three stars. I love the campus size as it is not to big or too small, and it is easy to get other building without feeling lost. The classroom sizes are decent and have up to about 32 students, but I did have a class with 92 students with two professors. The STEM center at the college is a great place to relax and study with friends. People are always friendly, and there are private study rooms available. I would say that library is a nice setting as well as there is also private study rooms, and it is always quiet for those students who really need to focus. Campus dining is extremely well as they have a variety of dining selection, and also take into consideration of health restrictions. They also have themed lunches where students eat for about five dollars, themes include pasta fest, waffle day, and many more; it is a great way for students to have fun on campus with friends. The only not so great tings about the campus is that they notify studnets of school cancelations late. The weather in Washington has been snowing and cold, the campus barely closed itself for a day because of the road conditions, but they should have canceled the day before as students and professors where at risk, and most professors cancelled classes. The campus security can be rude at times as I left my laptop in a classroom and called security to unlock it. They unlocked it but said they would have to give it to the lost and found even if I entered the password. It went to the lost and found, and I entered my password and showed my pictures and I was good to go. Turns out that the security could have let me put in my password, but they didn't want to deal with a student at the time.

There are plenty of smart teachers and students, and they have great cafeteria food. They have a lot of recreational sports and plenty of clubs to join into if you feel like it or want to. I also like the availability of the teachers. They seem to always be available, which is awesome!

Big Bend is a great small town college. It is a great place if you're looking for a more academically focused experience. There are lots of resources for students, and the professors are very supportive and available to help with anything. All of the buildings are a short walk from each other, which is great.

I greatly enjoy my time here. True you have the occasional student that treats you like crap for different political views but it's never been life threatening. Staff and the professors are willing to work with those who have disorders, weather they be physical or mental they work with the student on an individual basis which is great.
The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Big Bend Community College is 100%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020, _____ students were offered admission.
What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
If I could go back and tell my high school self some advice about adjusting to college, I think the most important thing I could say is relax. It's not as scary as everyone makes it out to be, and the experience will be different for everyone. You just have to relax and take it one class at a time. Also don't get overwhelmed by the workload, it may seem like a lot at first but it will all turn out okay. Yes you will have to change and learn how to study for these classes differently, but it's the same feeling as going from middle school to high school. While the environment changes, it's still just school. Just think of how many tests and assignments you have done in all your years in school. What's one more?
What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about your school?
The best thing about Big Bend is the availability of classes online. It makes it very convenient to be able have most classes available both as a classroom setting and via internet. For those of us who have to work in order to pay for the bigger part of school, it lends itself to having a job, a family life and still be able to be enrolled as a full time student.
Here's your chance: Say anything about your college!
It was an old Army base and is rather uniquely build and set up, it is the event center of the town so there is almost always stuff going on. They have constant lunch fests with different themes and entertainment, and currently we have about 200 soldiers from the air force living on campus.
The reason i am attending Big Bend Community College is because i am in a dual-credit program called running start. It will allow me to graduate with an Associates degree and pretty much bypass my junior and senior year of high school. So, if you're a smart junior or senior who is planning on having a lot of schooling left, and want to have your first two years of college paid for, you should join this program and go to this school.
Being in class this fall quarter made me realize that the classes I was in, are the perfect size, so it leads me to get a better understand meant of all the students in that class. It's easier to get to know the students then being in a classroom that is overcrowded. This fall quarter I got to meet some pretty incridible people that I became friends with. Being around my classmates made me realize that everyone has their backgrounds and their stories to why their attending college.
The teachers are great. It seems like every teacher is overqualified to teach there which makes it better for the student who is attending there. They have very unique classes, it's a small rural college, has many clubs, athletics, and activities. I am currently a member of Phi Theta Kappa, so they have the two-year national honor society for community college. All in all, it is a pretty well rounded college.
What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?
I had known what I was getting myself into when I decided to attend Big Bend Community College. Although it was not my first choice, it's the best for the situation I was in. I wanted to work full-time, and be able to afford college by myself. I'm proud that I've worked full-time for two years as an Insurance Agent. I wish I could have told myself not to stress so much about what school I was going to, and that being financially stable is more important than going to a popular school.
All students must apply yearly for financial aid. This process starts with the FAFSA.
Though financial aid deadlines vary by school, it is a good idea to apply as soon as possible. For the upcoming school year, you can apply as early as October 1 for the FAFSA. Additional school aid will be dependent on the FAFSA results.
