My opinion of this school is it gives off a homey vibe. The campus is big but small enough to make it from class to class. I really liked how when I went to visit the campus it felt like my hometown community college that I attend so that was another plus factor. I liked the atmosphere it gave off and how they have accessible food anywhere.

It is a great school if you want someplace chill to learn and grow yourself, it is in a quiet town where you can relax and enjoy the occasional sports game, the town surrounding the campus is a little barren though and there's not much to do outside of school without traveling 40 min away

As a new student, I find Eastern Washington University to be an inviting and dynamic academic environment that fosters both personal growth and academic excellence. From the moment I stepped onto campus, I was struck by the vibrant community atmosphere and the warm welcome extended by faculty, staff, and fellow students. One aspect that immediately stood out to me is the university's commitment to student success. Eastern Washington University offers a wide range of support services, including academic advising, tutoring, and career counseling, all geared towards helping students thrive academically and professionally. The dedication of faculty members to their students' success is evident in their accessibility, willingness to provide guidance, and passion for teaching. Furthermore, I appreciate the diversity of academic programs and extracurricular opportunities available at Eastern Washington University. Whether I'm interested in pursuing a degree in business, education, science, or the arts, there are ample resources and opportunities to explore my interests and develop valuable skills. The campus itself is both modern and picturesque, with state-of-the-art facilities, beautiful green spaces, and stunning views of the surrounding landscape. The sense of community is palpable, with numerous clubs, organizations, and events that provide opportunities for social connection, personal growth, and leadership development. Overall, my initial impressions of Eastern Washington University are overwhelmingly positive. I am excited to embark on this journey of learning and discovery, surrounded by a supportive community of peers and mentors who are committed to helping me achieve my goals and aspirations.

I am a running start student who currently attends Eastern Washington University and so far in my journey, I have had a wonderful experience. Eastern has given me a plethora of opportunities through running start and continues to provide helpful advice through my transition in being a college freshman. Their counselors have especially been useful in suggesting classes which go towards both my high school requirements and future major in psychology. Finally, the majority of classes which I've taken through Eastern are perfectly balanced, having enough difficulty without being overwhelming. In fact, I found my pervious high school classes to be more challenging than those offered at Eastern.

Eastern Washington University FAQS

  1. What is the Acceptance Rate at Eastern Washington University?

The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Eastern Washington University is 95%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020 , _____ students were offered admission. The number of males who applied was _____ vs the number of females which was _____.

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

If given the opportunity to ward my former, younger, dumber self I would provide him with two couplets; a dual mantra. The first is “GET INVOLVED.” There is nothing more rewarding than engaging in something novel and worthwhile. On paper, it seems like reaching the 10th Prestige on Call of Duty and interning for the Democratic Party are equally valuable. This is a delusion. Also, run for student office if only to wipe that smug look off the face of student office types if you win (Or nourish said smugness making things incalculably worse if you lose). The second is “BLEH GIRLS.” Whenever you encounter a “girl” immediately flee in the opposite direction. This will prove a tad burdensome and disruptive in classroom situations but will ultimately pay huge dividends. They comprise roughly half of the school population, so will seem omnipresent (yes, like a deity). And contrary to popular depiction (speaking normally) they are constantly singing that siren song from the Odyssey. You may attempt the Odysseus defense; i.e. attach yourself to the bow of the boat to avoid being swayed by the dulcet tones. The major drawback to this is navigating a sail boat on dry land.

  3. Describe the students at your school.

My fellow Eastern Eagles are outgoing, fun, crazy, and amazing. I love going to school with them. I've never been somewhere where the door is held open so much for me. People are polite, you can walk up to anyone on campus and talk to them with no judgement passed. I wouldn't want to be anywhere else.

  7. What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about your school?

This school is very student oriented. They have included in tuition a lot of extra perks. Use of the campus gym, All city buses in Cheney and Spokane, and even money credited to print out documents. And use of all of these things would cost you so much more money if you had to pay out of pocket. I calculated, that if i were to use the campus gym every day that it was openfor the school year, I would pay about 4 cents a day.

  8. What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?

What I consider to be the worst thing about California Baptist Universtiy would be that they don't offer financial aid through public education programs such as EOP or EOPS for low-income students. Also, its very hard and competitive to find a job on campus and I believe that students should have more options.

  9. Describe your favorite campus traditions.

Their community! The community here is incredible! Everyone is super nice and helps each other out. They also have the lowest in state tuition which is nice, but its still enough to hurt your pocket just like any other college. Finally, the education here is fantastic with great instructors and classes.
