This being my second term at my first college, I have little to compare it to. But my experience so far has been exceeding my expectations. My professors are very personable and helpful. There are plenty of resources and help centers if you are ever stuck. The library is my favorite place, there is an abundance of study rooms for intense study sessions, a communal printing area, and a website for any and all problems. I haven't run into any person unwilling to help.

Clark College is a good school to attend if you want to prepare for university or just get ahead before you go. My teachers are reasonable, easy to communicate with, respond to messages, and are friendly. I haven't really been on campus because I prefer Clark's online classes but I have heard a lot how the campus is great.

Clark College is a school with an incredibly diverse assortment of learning oppurtunities as well as multiple fun and exciting extra curricular activites for students of all ages. My classes are engaging and my classmates are extremely professional.

Clark College is a great school, with a beautiful campus and a really great sense of community. They have frequent free events on campus for students to join in, a great coffee place on campus, and fun classes! Not all professors are fantastic, but what school has only great professors? If you check Rate My Professor beforehand, you're good to go. They also do a great job of creating spaces and groups for students to find people that are similar to them, and plenty of spaces to just relax and hang out!

I think it's a great place to learn. I especially like their Running Start Program for Juniors and Seniors in high school. It's an amazing program if you're looking to save money, take harder classes, graduate high school with an Associates Degree, be prepared for a four year college, and more.

I'm a running start student, so my experience may be pretty different from actual adult students. But we're supposed to be treated the exact same so I'm hoping that this is helpful! I love Clark a lot. First of all the campus is beautiful. We are a bee campus, which means that we have pockets of vibrant wildflowers everywhere. It's stunning during the spring. Second the class sizes are great, I've never been in a class with more than 30 students. The professors are awesome, all the ones I've had have been warm and welcoming.

Clark College provides students with a solid education and is a great choice for those who plan to earn their associate's degree and transfer to a four-year college. They offer additional help for their students such as tutoring, career and education counseling, and mental health services. Most professors are regularly available and respond quickly to questions and concerns, which is especially helpful for online courses. Additionally, Clark offers a wide variety of elective courses and seems to have something for everybody. Considering that Clark College is a community college, the education, community, and additional services it provides are well worth the low relatively cost of tuition.

It's great for our Running Start program or if you are a first time college student. It's easy enough to follow the lessons and it's accessible enough. However, a four-year university would do better in guiding a person towards their specific major.
Kaeden - 03/30/2024
Overall, I think Clark College is a great institution. This may not seem reflective of my ratings, but that's just because these questions seem more targeted toward a four-year university, and Clark is a community college. If you're looking for parties and giant sports events, this obviously isn't the place, but I think the professors here (at least the ones I've had) are all pretty competent and caring, and that's what actually matters. I'm not entirely sure how it compares to other community colleges, but it seems pretty large and the facilities are nice (the bathrooms in the STEM building might be the cleanest I've ever seen). It's very close to downtown Vancouver, which itself is in very close proximity to Portland, so it's in close distance to a fair amount of shops and restaurants (I particularly like a record shop Everybody's Music that's less than a 5 minute drive away).
Margaret - 03/27/2024
I completed most of my prerequisites at Clark College in preparation for the Dental Hygiene program they offer. Not only was I impressed with the professors in my prerequisite classes, but I'm greatly impressed by my professors in the program. This school has gone above and beyond to make me feel welcome in the community and they strive to bring us together. I transferred from another college and I certainly did not feel the love that I feel from the faculty and students here at Clark College.
I'm grateful that I had the opportunity to be part of such an intense, yet rewarding program and I have absolutely no ill words to say about my school. Best wishes to those who would love to come here!
Olivia - 11/09/2023
It is overall a good community college with lots of resources and degrees to choose from. It has not housing on campus and parties if they happen are off campus.
Alexandra - 09/28/2023
I loved my time at Clark College. The faculty have always been helpful and the teachers are amazing. I have not had a poor experience with a professor. Although I was not as involved in extracurriculars, I know that there were some students that were involved. The campus feels very safe and I've never worried about where to park my car. I completed a transfer degree from Clark College and transferred to a different school for a bachelor's program. I do wish there were more program options available but for a community college I appreciated my time here.

Clark college is a great starter college. There are a few professors who do not teach their subjects very well which makes it harder to pass but we have tutoring services to fill those gaps. overall you will find that clark college is a good college to start with. The college has many benefits and extracurricular activities. You can get a discounted gym membership just for being a student which is really awesome. The professors tend to offer extra credit and trytheir hardest to ensure you pass just make sure you communicate and more than likely you will get a passing grade.

I am a running start student, and so I don't have a major- I just clicked a random one. Clark College, online, is pretty great class. Though, to make up for the lack of in-person learning, they started to tone up the work online through a workpage called Canvas. I've taken about 100 credits there, it's my second year, and things are pretty well if you put in the effort.
The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Clark College is 100%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020, _____ students were offered admission.
What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
I would tell my high school self that grades are important but not as important as learning the concepts at hand. Getting the full understanding of the material and nurturing the spirit of intellectual curiosity is what makes for a rich and full experience, not a letter in a grade book. From a tactical prospective, I would tell my senior self how critical it is to develop strong time management and organizational skills to combat the ever present, teenage staple of procrastination. While I always seemed to pull it out, turn in the paper, get a good grade on the test I crammed for, I have learned that waiting until the last minute might appear to work in the short term, but it?s only cheating myself and causing undue stress. I would tell myself to be prepared as I transition from the comfort of my parent?s household out into the real world because there is so much to learn about being an independent and responsible adult. Finally, have fun, live your life fully, and appreciate your parents in the last year of high school.
Clark College is the perfect college for the working adult. Many evening classes are offered and all classes transfer over to WSU Vancouver. Clark College also has a couple different satellite campuses.
What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?
The worst thing about Clark College is the parking. City buses are provided however, the majority of the students drive. When the school was first built it was not designed to accommodate such a large population. Now, over the years as the population increased, the parking situation gets worst. A number of people I know have to come at least an hour before their class begins to look for a parking spot. Those who find a spot on campus are the lucky ones too. There are some like me, who park at the local community center and walk to campus.
My school is best known for providing affordable tuition for the working parent that is looking to gain skills for a better future. Clark is located where it can serve both the greater Vancouver area and northern Portland.
I have really enjoyed the access to teachers and student tutors that are available to the students at Clark Campus.
There is a wide variety of places for a person to study and research any class information that needs to be done.
The buildings are very up to date.
What's the most frustrating thing about your school?
I find nothing frustrating about my school at all. I feel like my school is pretty easy going just the way I like it. If I think about it I think I can find a few things such as school being too close to home or having running start students (students who are in high school but may attending the college due to a placement test). That brings me to the placement test which tells you where you are placed and in what class. Sometimes taking the test could be a fluke!
Here's your chance: Say anything about your college!
Well Clark was my first choise since i am still in highschool, about to graduate, i took the oppurtunity and sacrificed alot of free time into college so i could get ahead in my career. But choosing to go to Clark College was a great benefit and blessing.
What kind of person should not attend this school?
Someone who isn't serious about furthering their education and is taking up space in a classroom where a person who IS interested in furthering their education could be. Another type of person who should now attend this school would be someone who creates a dangerous or uncomfortable atmosphere for others.
I think Clark College is a great school. The Fitness Trainer is especially great. It is obvious from the instructors that are in the program that the program director has high expectations for this program.
All students must apply yearly for financial aid. This process starts with the FAFSA.
Though financial aid deadlines vary by school, it is a good idea to apply as soon as possible. For the upcoming school year, you can apply as early as October 1 for the FAFSA. Additional school aid will be dependent on the FAFSA results.
