Columbia Basin College is a good community college option to consider because it is easy to apply and has many resources. They provide mental health and financial help, as well as school counseling. They always have fun activities for the community to join and the professors and other staff members are always there to help.

The school was great! I enjoyed my time there. It is easy to navigate around campus and locate where you need to go. The staff are friendly and very accommodating. Most classes are offered every quarter which is nice because it makes it faster to earn prerequisites. There were a lot of classes that had the option to be online or in person. The campus is nice and has lots of places to study or meet up with friends to study or hangout.

Columbia Basin College has been a fantastic experience for me. As a Running Start student, CBC let me get a much better education than I would have by normally attending high school. Everyone is great, professors are accessible, and the campus is safe. I recommend taking Japanese with Prof. Ryder!

I love Columbia Basin College. This college has allowed me to complete my prerequisites for the dental hygiene program and offers that program to students as well. This has been an amazing thing for me since it allows me to become educated in the field that I want without having to move out of town to obtain this career. All the faculty are super helpful and they always notify you of options for financial help.

Its a great overall college it has a great community and many opportunities to get involved. There is great programs in trades sciences arts and they have a very flexible schedule including online classes. And if your wondering what the cost well its really affordable compared to other colleges and they also offer help with scholarships and financial aid.

This school is a great place to go if you are looking to get your associate's degree or bachelor's degree at a two-year community college. They have a GED program and training in numerous trades. Socially, the school is mostly independent but there are many club options available. The professors are great and very attentive. There are also very many online options available. Overall, this is a great undergraduate school.

I love Columbia Basin College. My experience at this school over the last two years has been unforgettable and I enjoyed it even when it got tough. Professors are great but others are very tough on you and make it difficult to pass. CBC has done so much for me and I am very grateful to attend because it is a great school and a great community.
Arielle - 05/23/2020
My opinion on Columbia Basin College is that they are a very good school. They communicate with their students to make sure they are on the right path with their major. They help anyone who is in need of help. The campus is very pretty and classroom are good size classrooms.
Lilmae - 05/02/2020
Columbia Basin College is an excellent community college that gives many students the opportunity to get a quality education and earn their degree at a lower cost without sacrificing education standards or resources. Every professor I've met has been nothing but helpful and cares that all of their students succeed!
Livet - 02/20/2020
It is a great way to start off your education if your looking for somewhere small quiet safe and not intimidating like a huge university would be. A great jump start into a great career that I am looking forward to perusing thanks to what I will learn here .
Melissa - 02/04/2020
Columbia Basin College is a lovely community college that is able to provide good opportunities for all students to succeed. Due to being a community college, they lack some resources such as adequate professors that would allow students for better education.
Becca - 11/29/2019
I feel as if Columbia Basin College is a smaller type of College which makes classroom sizes very nice, typically not having more than 30 people to a class. I have always found the professors, especially in the PSYC and CHEM departments very accessible outside the classroom and eager to help inside the classroom as well. I would highly recommend CBC as a starter college for a 2 or 4 year degree.
Anna - 11/01/2019
It is a really nice college with activities being hosted for the students almost everyday. There are also many sports that you can join. And since the class sizes are small everyone gets a long well and interacts. The students and faculty are really kind and helpful especially with the new students. You can also get to most buildings with 5-6 minutes of walking at the most.
Buffy - 10/13/2019
The best education I've received so far! The campus is incredibly laid back and the staff is focused on reducing stress, and encouraging wholesome fun for the people there with events such as rock climbing, laser tag, graduation cap decorating, snake petting, and all sorts of things. There's not much in the way of art majors, (you can only take an art appreciation degree there that I know of), but the teachers are wonderful for the most part and the staff is incredibly understanding and friendly. It's a very inclusive space, and people aren't ashamed of themselves here.
Rochelle - 09/05/2019
My overall opinion of Columbia Basin College is that it is a great place to study. The professors are extremely nice and great educators. I love how they are various places to simply do your homework or have group meetings with colleagues. Columbia Basin College allows freedom of expression and I like that the involvement of students in the campus activities are always fun and exciting to meet other people. I feel safe to go into any building alone knowing that this is a place where I can be comfortable in. The cafeteria is a great place to buy meals and the food is amazing! The H building is where I spend most of my time because it is a comfortable place to study, eat and go to the CBC bookstore if needed.
The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Columbia Basin College is 100%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020, _____ students were offered admission.
What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
If I has the chance to go back and give myself advice as a high school senior I would tell myself that there will be alot of challenges in college but no matter what I face the biggest and most important priority is school. Recently my dad was diagnosed with a cancerous brain tumor and it affected my studies because I have to assist my mom in caring for my dad as well as attend school and keep a job. It has been very tough on me and my family but my biggest motivation is obtaining my degree with hopes that my dad will see me graduate with my college diploma since I will be the first college graduate in my family.
Everyone was "generally" nice all around, there were a few people that needed to drown in their own nose. hence came up with the joke with my firends, "if you hold your nose up to high, might as well drown in it". Alot of people smoked weed relgiously, and came to school either stoned, or went off campus and got stoned and came back.
What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?
If I could have applied for loans before being accepted to the program. The Financial aid office never answers the phone and I had a million questions. I ended up being accepted and having only 4 weeks to get loans to a very expensive and self support program.
The best thing about my school is they have a paramedic program. I can stay in my hometown and get my paramedic degree while being able to stay with my fire department I am currently affiliated in. The paramedic program is one of the five paramedic courses in Washington state. I am lucky to have such a good opportunity in my hometown.
What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?
The worst thing about this school is that it is incredibly underated. I would have never imagined that I could get this good of an education at a community college. I attended a University right out of high school with the idea that a University education would be far superior than that of a community college. Although I had some wonderful experiences there, I would have never imagined that the instructors at the community college were so wonderful. I have had wonderful connections and have learned so much--not to mention retained all of the information I have learned.
What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about your school?
When I tell my friends in Wenatchee how I much better the school is at CBC than at WVC, I tell them about how wonderful the teachers are. The teachers are so funny yet I have learned more in the first week than I have learned through all four years of high school.
What's the most frustrating thing about your school?
There are deadlines to meet such as applications and payment, however there is no one in Financial Aid to answer phones/questions. When I was accepted into the program that I applied to I was give 5 weeks notice. I have to quit 2 jobs, move and find loans. 5 Weeks is not enough time. They seem understaffed to meet the students needs successfully.
My school is best known for its affordiblity, as well as a diverse population of students. It also has one of the best welding programs in the state, and in the North-West. It also has an excellent nursing program, dental hygiene program, and more.
Columbia Basin College has a large campus, and a large faculty of teachers and administrators. Everyone is friendly and eager to help, especially the people in registrative services, and counseling.
A good student canidate for this college would be anybody lookingi to receive further education. This school helpls a variety of students weather they are undecided what to do as a career, trying to get a AA to transferer into a four-year college while saving money, or get into a certificate program. This College is a great place to start your first two years out of high school to adapt to college life.
All students must apply yearly for financial aid. This process starts with the FAFSA.
Though financial aid deadlines vary by school, it is a good idea to apply as soon as possible. For the upcoming school year, you can apply as early as October 1 for the FAFSA. Additional school aid will be dependent on the FAFSA results.
