It's a great small town college. You won't get lost in the crowd and the staff are all very friendly and helpful. They truly want the students to succeed.

Emilee

Carl Albert State College is a very great college that supports and provides opportunities for its students. A good majority of teachers care when it comes to seeing us succeed in life. CASC also has a trio program called the educational talent search which provides opportunities in leadership, campus tours, college applications, and filling for the FAFSA. They also give us free school supplies and other stuff too. Carl Albert is my first choice other than the University of Arkansas - Fort Smith. As of right now I'm still considering my options between the two colleges but know that I'll eventually have to make a choice. Before doing so I intend to tour both colleges and then make a decision. I've already scheduled my tour at UAFS but still looking for a day when I'm free to visit CASC's campus.

Could be better could be worse but its a small 2 year college not to bad for the size of the campus. I went online so I unfortunately did not get the full on campus experience as everyone else that went may have. Plus they have zero housing on campus options at the sallisaw camous which is where I had enrolled in class but online.

Cheyenne

its a wounderful college to be apart of i really enjoy it i wish the classes were shorter but i like the courses

Daniela

I have no complaints. They work with you the best they can.

Mikeesha

CASC is a small college that has amazing teachers. It is an easy learning environment and it is easy to comprehend what the teachers are going over. The faculty is very friendly and they are always open to help out. The students there are well-mannered and are mature. It is a great learning environment and I recommend this college to everybody that wants a good education.

Karen

CASC is an amazing college- I’ve been a concurrent student for 4 semesters. I have taken classes in history, government, English and math. The cafeteria is first class. I only wish they offered Bachelor Degrees. A great start to my collegiate career!

Kara

It is a great college. The professors genuinely care about their students and there are always people to help you with whatever you need. Everyone is very welcoming and nobody is scared to speak up or ask questions. There is plenty of group work and one-on-one activities for kids who have different learning skills.

MADISON

I have absolutely loved my college experience at Carl Albert State College (CASC). I've made awesome friends and definitely grown up in the process of figuring out college life. Instructors working at this institution have been amazing and I don't think I could have passed chemistry or trigonometry without them! Awesome school!

William

Great school! Not very many people on campus (Good thing to me since I'm an introvert), but most are friendly and helpful. All teachers are available most all of the time. The Student support and Admissions office workers are always helpful and the school always looks very clean.

Kendall

I am only attending Carl Albert State College because it is half the price of the other local colleges. The saying "You get what you pay for" is correct in this situation. I will be transferring to another college once I finish my associates here. It will be a welcomed change.

Royce

Carl Albert is a small community college in sallisaw and due it being really small I really like it! I love most of the teachers that work there and they are willing to help you as long as you are making an effort to pass your classes! I used to be shy before I went to this school and now I can talk to anyone and make friends easy and I also met so many people too!

Paige

Very small community college. Teachers are very easy to get in contact with and very helpful with any questions I have ever had. I have had no problems with anyone while attending college there. I think it is a very good junior college to start out with.

Roxanne

It's a good place to go that has affordable tuition and easy for anyone to come to better themselves. The teachers are great and like to help their students and you feel safe here. I have been here for two years and it is a good place to be and I know my education will benefit from this college.

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

I would tell myself to not go to the big university that I first went to because it was a mistake, the campus was to big and ther was too much going on and I had anaxiety going to classes because they were so large, as well as staying away from early morking classes because I pay attetion the best late mornings and in the afternoon. As well as how to apply for scholorships which was a process that mystified me untill quite recently. I would also try to calm my fears of coming out to my parents because they do not care about my prefrences to love me and I should not be worried.

  4. What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?

The campush is small so there are not a lot of options for books and suplies. There are also very few work study opportunities and none in my department of study. The communication department is very small and few students choose to take the courses which means that if there is not enough intrest then the classes get dropped.
