As a sum in the little bit I was there, the students and faculty were all overall welcoming and seemed like they had a good head on their shoulders. I am excited to attend there this coming fall and get work done. the sports culture was also quite interesting.

Chemeketa Community College is a great place to start earning college credit during high school or before going on to a four year university. There is a wide variety of courses of all levels offered there. The teachers always have office hours and it is very easy to get in contact with them outside class hours. Moreover, the education offered there is great, there are exceptional teachers and peers you will find. Alumni, tend to keep to themselves and everyone is in their own world or getting things done. The experience you will get at Chemeketa Community College will give you the tools to move up in your professional or student life.

Overall a good school to start out at. I got chemeketa scholars which paid for most of my tuition, the professors are nice for the most part. I just go to school and do what I have to do then leave. It would be better if the campus was updated, some buildings need a little bit of work.

What I enjoy from "Chemeketa Community College", is that they hold all cultural. Who are treated the same, kindly, and respectfully. They hold so much stuff, that is affordable, and fun. So many things to try out! Like physical defense, very good salsa dancing, and ballroom dancing. They hold lot's of wonderful, peaceful activities. This school is one of the colleges I definitely want to attend.

I think that it is great if you are taking general courses to then transfer and also for short careers. There is also many short technical careers that are great for people that don't to be in college forever. Having those short careers is great because you can decide what you're interested in to then maybe further your education.

My college is an effective learning environment with fantastic professors. I plan on going to this school for as long as I can because I truly feel welcomed and cared about in this college. My grades are always cared about and my teachers care about my well being and it always means so much. I always know who is on my side.

I believe it's a very safe place with a very diverse community, and classes are fun. It's a good school to start at and save some money for your first two years of college. I believe students will have a great time attending the school and enjoy a variety of classes and activities on campus.

I love Chemeketa. They helped me get my GED and got me enrolled in my first college term this summer. Without Chemeketa I would not be where I am today and I really appreciate it. It is an excellent learning environment, and I feel pretty safe on campus. I would highly recommend this school to anyone in the area.

I love the culture, the diversity, and everything about chemeketa. As a first year and first generation student I was very nervous about staring college. However, chemeketa’s class size, amazing instructors, and awesome peers, I was able to successfully complete my first year.
Britny - 05/30/2019
Chemeketa is a great community college for all types of people. The professors are very kind and helpful and take the time to make sure you are understanding everything. The community overall is very active, I’ve been to several international and cultural events and everyone is extremely friendly and welcoming.
Elaina - 03/30/2019
Overall, I believe that Chemeketa and similar community colleges certainly have their place. Chemeketa has made getting an affordable education possible for me. I originally came in on the scholarship program, and the additional foundation scholarships after that have been extremely helpful. I should be able to transfer in about a year and get my intended degree soon after.

Chemeketa Community College is a supportive, safe college. The teachers are always very encouraging, thoughtful, and ready to help whenever we ask for it. The students interact with each other and there are social opportunities and clubs for students to meet and talk with each other. The variety of classes is vast and the college is a supportive place to be when first starting college and deciding on a major.
Chandra - 07/23/2018
My overall opinion of Chemeketa Community College is that it is a great first step to most careers. The professors are usually helpful and nice. They like to help and give an extra hand. I wish it gave a more college experience life. There could be more clubs and organizations to join.
Brittany - 06/12/2018
Chemeketa is a great college, and I hope that people don't overlook it simply because it is a Community College. Chemeketa offers many opportunities for scholarships, is readily affordable, and is very accessibly due to its additional campus areas in McMinnville, Dallas, and Woodburn. The class sizes are extremely helpful for students as it is easy to develop relationships with professors and they will always come to know you personally. There are many features inside Chemeketa that make the academics easier from tutoring centers, readily available professors, and study groups for almost any subject. This school cares if you are successful, and they want to see you reach your goals. Chemeketa is a great stepping stone into the college life, and something more people should look into.
Linnea - 05/08/2018
Chemeketa has a gorgeous campus, plenty of resources for the students to use, and tons of inclusive clubs for everyone. Chemeketa is a great community college because you get to see the way the arts mesh with the STEM programs, and the way that the writing programs can mesh with the medical programs. It's pretty much a melting pot where everyone gets along and you can meet all kinds of people.
The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Chemeketa Community College is 100%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020, _____ students were offered admission.
What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
Please stay focused and understand that you may not know what you want to do right now, but if you just get your schooling out of the way first, life will be much easier later. It is very hard to try to be a wife and mother and still get the most out of a college life. Stay focused, be determined, and this part of your life will be over before you know it.
What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?
The worst thing about Chemeketa is, the classes are not guaranteed. If enough people don't sign up for a class it will get dropped. This has only effected once during my two year stay at Chemeketa but it did mess up my schedule. They have some main classes that always fill up, but the electives sometimes don't. I enrolled in one class and only found out it was dropped a week into the class. I couldn't transfer into the other equivalent class because that class ended up being full.
Anybody, But this school is great for a career in the health feild, mainly EMT/Fire Fighting. It's a great place for student to get there prerecks done and transfer
Here's your chance: Say anything about your college!
Chemeketa is the only availble college for a very large area. This produces a student body, that consists of all races, and all different classes. Chemeketa is a school has resources avaliable for people of all levels of ability and backgrounds. Chemeketa provides many oppourtunities to students that may not have otherwise had the chance.
What's the most frustrating thing about your school?
The most frustrating thing about my school is not having enough night and online classes. I have to work and attend school at night or on line right now and it is hard to get in the classes becuase they fill very quickly.
I feel privilaged to attend Chemeketa Community College as I am able to receive awarding and challenging teaching for much less than a 4-year college. The most awarding aspect of attending Chemeketa is the wide variety of people I come in contact with. In my history class I sit next to an 84-year-old woman who brings so much more depth to the class for me. Also, in another class the variety of life backgrounds is so diverse it really makes discussions bloom with different outlooks. The atmosphere as well as the teaching has molded me.
What kind of person should not attend this school?
Students who want to have the social "college experience" that comes with a state school won't find it as much at a community college. There are student dorms, but many students live off campus. There is also a higher percentage of people (including myself) who are not exactly fresh from high school and have other responsibilities like a job or family. If that sounds lame, then this school might not be for you.
What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?
I wish I had known about the two year scholarship Chemeketa had to offer before I started my senior year in high school. Additional schooling, even at a community college, is hard to pay for. Taking away some of those spending costs would have been a blessing.
All students must apply yearly for financial aid. This process starts with the FAFSA.
Though financial aid deadlines vary by school, it is a good idea to apply as soon as possible. For the upcoming school year, you can apply as early as October 1 for the FAFSA. Additional school aid will be dependent on the FAFSA results.
68% of students attending Chemeketa Community College receive some sort of financial aid.
55% were awarded federal grants.35%received federal loans. Many students do also need to apply for additional private student loans.
