Davidson College Top Questions

Is the stereotype of students at Davidson College accurate?

Jessica

No. While some students may work more than others, we find a way to have fun, especially on the weekends. There are going to be "dorks" at all schools.

Charlie

1. We are intelligent and at times we can be boastful but only because we are proud and we know we are working hard, but we do not look down on other schools. 2. Davidson is very rigorous, but there is a balance and I find I have time to go out almost whenever I want. You have to make the choice to stay in and study 24-7 or to get the whole college experience. Davidson definately offers the ENTIRE college experience.

Jessica

not really

Sarah

For the most part yes - a few exceptions - not everyone is an overachiever. We all work pretty hard and the work comes and goes.

Cody

NO! The majority of students are members of organizations that benefit the community. Nothing is for free, it is part of the 40 thousand we pay every year. I would much rather be doing my own laundry than studying.

Laura

Mostly, yes.

Christina

All are true in that they each apply to a portion of the student population, but there are plenty of people who do not fit any of these stereotypes. Although I would say that the majority of students do 'get dressed' on a daily basis. Few and far between are the brave souls who wear their pajamas to class.

Casey

Definitely a lot of rich white students. The work is hard and people do like to party. So, yes.

margaret

most are smart but not all are nerdy

Emily

Yes and no. There is always a balance, and part of what it means to be at college is figuring that out.
