I toured ECU and I thought it was a lovely and very nice campus. I liked it so much I scheduled a second visit which is in 2 days. East Central University is my number 1 pick on where I want to go to college and a big part of it is the town, campus, and education they have.
Bailey
My opinion of East Central University is rather high. I think it is a great school where kids from all over the country can come together and have a great time. Everyone is kind and is willing to help with your needs. Overall, it is a great school and will continue to do great things.

ECU has been difficult. I’m paying for books that were not even using. I’m having to take extra classes that I don’t need because they wouldn’t take me AAS degree. The financial aid department charges all these fees and can’t tell me what most of them are for. I’m an online kid and had to pay a 50 dollar healthcare fee. They are charging about 800 dollars for a practicum where I have to find my own facility to volunteer at. ECU isn’t even teaching the class and it’s 800 bucks. My advisor has been a blessing though.
Cheyenne
Overall I like ECU, it is just what I was looking for in a school. Some of my friends though have different opinions, but I think that has a lot to do with the special circumstances of starting college in a pandemic. I feel pretty safe on campus as I often see campus police patroling the area and the dorm requires keycard access to get in. I am excited to be working towards my degree and fully plan on graduating from East Central University.
Madalyn
I like that it is small and the education is really good, if not better than big schools.
Makenzie
The campus is very nice and the professor help in any way they can. The campus is always clean and the janitors do a nice job of cleaning the place up. This staff is very supportive in anything you do and are always there to help. The students are always ready for the big football games. Sorority’s and the Frats gather to make the games even more exciting. Not just that wait until basketball comes around to watch the community gather inside to cheer on their Tigers.

Very good school, especially for the price. Excellent departments! Language here is phenomenal. Performance arts are awesome too. Football team could be better. Professors are mostly all kind and helpful. Dorms are good for the price, but you’re required to get a meal plan. It’s cheaper and better to stay in the dorms than to try and get an apartment. Real estate here is astronomical.

I believe it is a good, smaller college to start, or finish with. Everyone, no matter what major you choose, is excited to see where you will lead too in your goals. Personally, I have lived very close, so I have gotten to know a lot of students and faculty of ECU, and each one is happy to welcome more students into their school.
Tina Lynn
I think a few professors could stand to be more involved in students lives. There are also a few professors who need to make their lessons and teachings more clear. Overall, I think ECU is great. It's a good learning environment and the student crowd is okay.
James
It would s a great school. Everyone has their goals. The teachers and counselors are all helpful pointing you the right direction. It school has a long history and prose that makes the school more interesting to even learn the history about the school it’s self. There is always some type of activity going on at the campus.

East Central University is a school where you can feel at home and feel appreciated. The professors here want you to succeed and are willing to help out in anyway they can so you can be one step closer to your goal. There are many sources on this campus they help students out, there is tutoring of all classes, a writing center, there is even a academic success center for those who need a guide to help them accomplish four years of greatness. I highly recommend people who like small towns and loving people to come to ECU and enjoy the best four years of their lives.
Elizabeth
I loved it and can hardly wait to enroll.
Katlynn
I absolutely LOVE ECU! I don't stay in the dorms but what I know of them is good! I don't hang with a crowd that does drugs or drinks, but it is not something I hear in conversation in or out of the classroom at all. All of the faculty I have encountered have been super helpful and so nice. Cannot say enough good things.
Ashley
I have been going to East central university for a year now and I love it. The counselors and advisors are very attentive and help when help is needed. So far this is by far on of the best colleges I have attended. East Central University is the way to go. Go Tigers Go.

East Central University is a wonderful college to attend. The college has numerous opportunities for the students and future students. East Central University offers multiple clubs and organization to get its students involved. From the drama club to the basketball team all the clubs and sports are valued at East Central University. The professors care about your education and strive to help you succeed in class. The professors want their students to achieve their goals. The college has plenty to offer its future and current students. The class sizes are small because here at East Central you are more than just a number. Once a Tiger always a Tiger! What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
When picking a college, you want the student to feel safe. Picking a safe environment surrounding the campus is always a top priority. Next visit the campus, before attending, to see how big the classrooms are. I believe being in a classroom with about 20 to 30 students is better than being in a class of 100 at one time. Being in a small class helps the students with getting help with their homework if they need it. This is because the professors know the students by name, so the student feels more comfortable asking for help in a smaller environment compared to a large one.
What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?
Campus looks a little run down and out-dated. Needs a face lift. New windows, paint, and just minor cosmetics.I think the community should offer more support for college students such as, discounts at movies, resturants, and social activities. Community needs a social enviroment or night life fthat would appeal to students.
What's the most frustrating thing about your school?
The sports at East Central aren't very good. Don't come to this school if you like to go to sporting events. Also Ada is a small town and everything closes at about six every night.
Our school would most likely be best known for it's "small town" feel to it, and that all of the classes have less than 40 students, and East Central is very teacher-student friendly. So, us as students get a better education in that we can ask questions and we can get responses from our Professors.
Here's your chance: Say anything about your college!
There is an excellent College of Education and Pyschology. The cost to attend ECU is relatively low and you recieve a good education if applied correctly.
The best thing about this school, is that it is small. It's very easy to make new friends and stuff like that. The classrooms are small as well. I love that they are small, because the professors know you by name and not by number.
What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?
I wish that I could have met my professors before enrolling in some of the classes to find out some of their learning styles. Also knowing how you learn best is very useful.
What kind of person should not attend this school?
I don't know of anyone who should not attend here. It's a great school with wonderful academic and social opportunities for every walk of life! For its curriculum and opportunities, I would recommend it to anyone interested in a great college experience!
What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about your school?
I brag that almost every professor has their masters or docorate and become more like friends then a teacher. They are more willing to help out students then other colleges seem to. There is just so much more interaction between professors and student then anywhere else. You get a greater quality education and for less money then those lager schools.
All students must apply yearly for financial aid. This process starts with the FAFSA.
Though financial aid deadlines vary by school, it is a good idea to apply as soon as possible. For the upcoming school year, you can apply as early as October 1 for the FAFSA. Additional school aid will be dependent on the FAFSA results.
96% of students attending East Central University receive some sort of financial aid.
40% were awarded federal grants.31%received federal loans. Many students do also need to apply for additional private student loans.
