Florida Southern College

The campus looks really pretty and in a good location.

Overall it's a fairly good school, however given the price you'd expect it to be better. There are a lot of poor quality buildings that they don't let you see during the tours, several of the teachers aren't the best, and the dorms are often disgusting. Other than that it's fine.

Florida Southern College is a unique college where the architecture is that of Frank Lloyd Wright and the atmosphere is one of welcoming and friendly once you are on campus. There is plenty to do and safety is a huge plus with their security presence. Besides that, it is a nice campus to be on and not to far from home.

It is a nice school, it just has it's downsides like other schools do. If you're looking for a party school, this is not the place. People don't do much unless they go out. Everyone is pretty friendly here, class size isn't too big, and there's definitely always something to do on campus. My complaints about the school and living in a dorm: the washers and dryers build up mold so fast. How am I supposed to wash my clothes when I don't even know if they're actually clean? Sharing bathrooms with other people is an absolute terror because some really just don't know how to clean up after themselves. The cost of books, absurd, and if you're a bio major like me there is no getting out of it. The books are created by the biology department so you can't find them anywhere else. The teachers cram like 4 weeks' worth of learning into two. Way too fast paced if you don't catch on quickly (I can barely keep up). The rooms echo so you can barely hear when a teacher speaks. I probably could keep going forever..... but the last thing I'm going to touch on is the parking situation. If you do not NEED a car, do not bring one here. Wasted $120 because I hardly ever get a spot. Is it a good school? Yes. They have good programs, good teachers, and good resources. Is there room for improvement? Absolutely. Suggestions- do your research on teachers. If you need real organization, find a teacher that will provide that. Become an honors student, there's many benefits and first pick on almost everything. If you're going to live on campus as a freshman, shoot for Barnett complex. Lastly, ask so many questions.

Overall, Florida Southern College is a great school. The academics are very broad with over 70 majors. The professors and staff members on campus are respectful and help the students out in anyway that they can. The campus is extremely beautiful with the buildings having historical meaning behind them. Florida Southern is an expensive school though and I do not recommend if you are a low income family.

Florida Southern College is exactly what I needed. I feel motivated and encouraged in the classroom. The students are friendly and I feel like I really belong here. The food in the caf is average, but they provide many diverse options including those for vegan and gluten free students. Overall, I feel welcome and wanted.

I think Florida Southern College is a great school. I want to study Marine Biology here because everything really looks nice and all the students look academically active. The campus is huge and after I graduate high school in 4 years I will definitly want to still come to Florida Southern College.

I love being a student at Florida Southern! It's become my home, and I'll take the experiences I've had there with me for the rest of my life. It took a lot of negotiation with my family to get there, but truly it's the best decision I've ever made.

Overall, I have had a positive experience at Florida Southern College, so far. The campus is beautiful and the faculty and administration has been helpful and prompt anytime I have had an issue. For example, because of a hurricane, we evacuated campus for a week, but when I returned to my dorm, mildew had started growing. My professors and the administration I talked to were accommodating and helped my roommate and I with the issue.

I love Florida Southern College. I took a dual enrollment course there when I was 15 and have loved it ever since. I have worked very hard to complete my AA degree before I finish high school and will attend Florida Southern in the Fall of 2020 full time. I actually work at the college as a tour guide for the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation and get to go there every other day after my classes at Polk State. I love the architecture and the people it is the best place on earth.

Great campus feeling. Felt very safe both during the day and at night. Everything was clean and well kept. Teachers and students were helpful and kind in all the aspects of tour we took. The dining and housing were one of the best we saw in southern Florida.

I am incredibly grateful to be attending Florida Southern College, as I feel that it is the perfect environment and conducive to my success. My experience here has been enlightening, educational, and overall very enjoyable. I absolutely love that I have the opportunity to be extremely involved academically; I work as an academic assistant for the Psychology Department, am gaining experience as a teaching assistant, conduct professional research in the field of psychology and law, present research at national conferences, and participate in academic clubs. I truly feel that Florida Southern allows me to pursue these passions to the very best of my ability, and work closely with my professors. My professors are some of the most incredible people I have ever met, and they inspire me every day. The small campus provides students with an environment that feels safe and welcoming. This is especially helpful for out-of-state students like me, who may experience some sadness due to being away from family. Furthermore, we are blessed to be surrounded by the incredible Frank Lloyd Wright architecture and beautiful Lake Hollingsworth. The students and faculty here are extremely friendly, and everybody encourages others to succeed. Students are also provided with fun and creative events, learning opportunities, and community volunteer work. Overall, I think of Florida Southern College very highly, and I would not trade it for the world. I sincerely hope to gain the financial ability to finish all four years of my undergraduate degree here.

Florida Southern College is overall a rather decent school. It provides an easy transition from high school into college life. There's always an event going on that provides opportunities for everyone to participate and socialize. The professors are a major resource for any student. They'll help students with anything they need, whether it personal or professional related. The professors push students to be their best and are always available to help students better understand the material and succeed. No matter what type of person attends, they will always find other like-minded individuals to befriend and constant support.

Florida Southern College has come a long way since I first started there in 2015. I am now a graduate student (MBA) and I have friends that are still undergraduates at FSC. I hear of all the wonderful changes that have come, and are coming, to the school. They care about the students and are always listening to the opinions and ideas of everyone who attends.

I'm genuinely really glad I came here. The community is great, lots of clubs and on-campus events provide ways to make friends, and most people are open and friendly. The professors are very accessible; they're willing to schedule time to meet outside office hours if you need it, and there are lots of tutoring options as well. Sports aren't a huge part of campus culture, but there are some people who go to all the games, and we have intramural sports and exercise classes.
