My opinion of Florida SouthWestern State College is very positive. With D1 sports such as Basketball the atmosphere is electric. When looking at going to university or going to community college I feel as though FSW offers an experience that could be seen as equivalent to many Florida universities.

It's a good community college, and really close to where I live. Overall, everyone is willing to help and it's not too big, I like small campuses, for now that is. They have a class which helps prepare students further in college who work and have many classes, as well as after college.
Angela
Pretty good for the most part. I did dual enrollment here during my senior year of high school and I have only ever had trouble with one of the teachers. Everybody else is pretty good. They have a lot of nice events going on for the students and I really enjoyed my time here overall.

Florida SouthWestern State College is an incredible institution to study. I attended two colleges, and this one is by far my favorite. The teachers and faculty are outstanding. They sincerely want to help you achieve your goals with the greatest assistance they can provide.

My opinion of Florida Southwestern State College is that it's great. The students are there to learn and to achieve their dream career. Their classes are very important to the students and I agree that they have a variety of opportunities to choose from. The campus is great and so is the professors. It's a great campus and environment.

FSW is a great and affordable alternative for college. I chose FSW because of those reasons. It was amazing when I went to orrientation and everyone was focused on helping me in any way I needed help. Everyone was also so understanding of how it was my first time at college given that I was a freshman. Not only were teachers and staff amazing but the students and peers were also a big help. Overalll a really great school. To me it was the perfect choice.

I think it offers a variety of majors and options for students of all walks of life. Campus life is fun, and professors are helpful when needed. The food options on campus are a variety of ranges which is refreshing to see. The pool and gym on site is super helpful for busy students.

It is a wonderful school to attend. The professors are outstanding and always available. They answer any time of the day and most of the night. The students are very respectful and intellectual. I enjoy attending this College. I very much recommend it.

Overall, Florida Southwestern State College is okay. Most of the professor's are competent, though some of them bite off more than they can chew. This results in assignments being graded 8 weeks after being submitted and having no chance of improving your grade.
Emily
I love it. This school is all about community. I feel right at home whenever I'm there. I have a close knit friend group who are always ready to hold big discussions or just hang out and play sports. The professors are extremely personable and helpful, you always see them around, even when they are not teaching. In addition, I love how beautiful the campus is. It has large shade trees, and a big lake that you can walk around to get exercise between classes. Overall, this is a great school, and I am very satisfied.

You get what you pay for I guess. I first went into FSW expecting one thing but received something different. If you're trying to take advantage of art programs in college, I would recommend a different school. I wish I knew this before I started college here. There just isn't much motivation when it comes to the arts.

FSW is a community college that provides students with the necessary resources and tools to succeed. Professors are very much willing to help, and are there to see you succeed. They go above and beyond. Campus life is great; peer mentors are a big thing at FSW and they are sweet, encouraging, and most importantly, inspiring! They have a wide variety of courses to choose from, and even offer some Bachelor's and Master's programs, which some community colleges don't offer. Overall, FSW has been an amazing experience thus far.

I, overall, feel every safe on-campus and if I ever needed help finding a place to go, I could easily ask anyone for help. The professors, so far, have been great and I have been given every opportunity to succeed. I am currently enjoying my experience here at Florida Southwestern State College!

It is a very affordable establishment. Unfortunately, this does mean that resources can be limited on campus. However, funds are pretty well-distributed and there are event opportunities to study abroad. I can say that the school does its best to work with every student to find the best path for you, and do their best to help you financially. Overall it is a well-rounded school with lots of options, and the tuition is low, allowing for just about anyone with decent grades and character to attend.
Jetro
My overall opinion is that the school is actually a really good school. For a small school there is not that many people and class goes by smoothly. There are lots to do and events happening almost every week. The professors are willing to help the students and are here when we have questions or need help.
The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Florida SouthWestern State College is 100%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020, _____ students were offered admission.
What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
Don't underestimate college and think that it will be easier than high school. You can easily fall behind if you don't keep up with your studies. But most importantly do not take time off, this is a mistake that will put you behind easily, and after taking a semester off, another semester does not seem like a big deal, before you know it you are behind two years.
It's definitely a place for those people who can't afford to go far, and still would like to better themselves educationally. The college itself tends to collect people who want to continue their education, but would rather be somewhere else, kind of stepping stone
What kind of person should not attend this school?
The type of person that shouldn't attend this school is someone who just doesn't care about their education. The students are all hard working, with families and multiple jobs that are trying to advance themselves with this school.
What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?
There is not many things I could complain aabout my school. The only problem I usually have is not ever finding a parking spot. This usually gets in my way of getting to class on time.
What's the most frustrating thing about your school?
The most frustrating thing abou tmy school is tat a lot of the times I feel like the classes are a little too easy. I'm o asking for rigorous classes tht I feel like I can't comlpete, but sometimes I feel as if I'm in a high school class, if not, lower.
What is the stereotype of students at your school? Is this stereotype accurate?
Our school is seen as the community college of our area because it use to be a community college. I believe that since the name has changed, and they have more bachelor programs that the school is starting to be recognized for what it has become and not what it use to be. I do not think that we are anything like a community college. We have amazing staff and the classes are not any "easier" than ones at a state college.
The academics at FSW are the main focus of the facility. We do not have sports teams as of this year so they strive for academic excellence. They even have a class called Corner Stone that all incoming freshmen take to help them with getting though that first year of college, if its teaching them how to take notes, to helping students find employment while attending school. Also, all the professors that I have personally had have tried to helps students academically if its offering extended office hours or setting up a private tutor for a student. We also have resource labs for all of the major subjects like writing, mathematics, speech, science, etc. The school offers so many different ways for students to succeed academically if they do not than the student is not putting in the effort.
