Since it has been more than 30 years out of school, I think it was about time I did something for myself. The College I selected is Saint Leo's University because of their williness to help others acheive their goals. It's never too late to go back to school and get the right education to improve oneself. I have had many missed opportunities and I just had to get strong and say It's my turn now!! Saint Leo's has helped me from the start and continue to do so every step of the way. I am so grateful to have found a University that cares about your needs and wants. I had to start from scratch and they are able to assist me without hesitation. I really appreciate everything they have done and continue to do for me to excel in the buisness world.

My college experience has been wonderful. I have met amazing people, been taught by amazing professors. I have become more open-minded, and discovered unknown interests. At my college, I have become the Vice President of the Rotaract Club, which is a junior Rotary club. We have volunteered at many events such as Project Homeless and the LA AIDS Walk. I completed my AA in 3 semesters maintaining a 3.5, I worked two jobs and was in various extra curricular activities. I was not accepted to SDSU, but now I have taken this past semester to take more courses and to research more what I would like to major in. I am now applying to UCSD and plan to major in International Studies with a focus in Sociology. I hope to join the Peace Corps and open up a school in a third world country. With this scholarship it will help me pay for my tuition at UCSD and accomplish my goals and hopefully succeed with my future plans.

Everyone says college is the time of your life you never forget. Its true. Since I began attending Florida State University, I have met so many new people, allowing my perspectives to widen immensely. I have met so many amazing and passionate professors which only intrigue me, as a student, and wills me to learn more. I have gained more than just an amazing education. I have gained lifelong friends, each one with different friends of their own. I have also gained an extreme sense of responsibility; What used to scare me before no longer does, as I am much more independent and confident in my choices(which 95{4a082faed443b016e84c6ea63012b481c58f64867aa2dc62fff66e22ad7dff6c} of the time are good ones!). I strongly encourage everyone to attend college, the money is available if one looks for it. What you gain from college undoubtedly outweighs the price, not only in an intellectual level, but in a "self-assuring" way as well. I love college and will continue to work hard at it.

Thus far in my college experience, I have learned many things. In high school, getting an A in a class came very easy for me. It required little to no work at all. College is an entirely different ball game. If I want in A in my classes, I have to work very hard to get it. Even though I try my hardest, I sometimes do not achieve an A. It goes to show me that when ever I begin a life of my own, I am going to have to work for what I want and need. There is not going to be an easy way of getting it. Also, not having anyone around that checks up on you and checks your grades are a huge change. Anything can happen to you in college and your parents will never know. I have learned self discipline throughout my first semester in college and how to manage my time since there aren't teachers giving me permission to go to lunch or to use the bathroom. In college, you are on your own with no one there to back you up. I am becoming my own, independent person.

My college experience has shown me that I am capable of much more than I accomplished during High School. In High School i did not make that good of grades but while in college, I may not have done well in some classes because I was getting use to the whole college thing. I have shown myself that I was selling myself short and have decided to not only do my two years at a technical college but go on to a four year university and get my bachelors and one day masters degree. College has shown me the importance of an education today. Graduating college has become more important to me as I want to be succesful and make something of myself. College has been and will a valuable experience to show me hard work and dedication pays off even though you may not want to go to your eight o'clock class some mornings. Attending college and classes becomes more important everyday especially as our nations economy slowly gets worse. Jobs will get harder and harder to get and having a college degree will help me succeed and provide for a family one day.

There are several things that I got out of my college experience. Most importantly, I learned perseverance. There are times when it seems extremely hard to finish an assignment in a short period of time. So not only I have to be able to have excellent time management skills, but I should also have perseverance. I learned to stress myself less than I used to and just do my best. In the end, stress will only get in the way with my work. So managing my stress level is one of most valuable skills that I got out of my college experrience. I think it is a helpful skill to have in other areas of my life besides college.

What I have most gotten out of my college experience so far is the way our lives are changing. As a freshman at the Florida State University, I have grown to become a better person. I have become a bit more involved in my community. Joining some clubs with nursing and the rowing team at the university has brought me to meet some new friends. College is a great opportunity to get to know ourselves, and life has changed. I feel that I am mature now living on my own. Most importantly, college is about knowlege. Let me tell you, I have learned a great amount of things here at Florida State University. My goal in life is to become a nurse. The value of attending college gives me the chance to reach my goal, and able to help others. Especially children, I want to be a pediactric nurse!

Out of my so far college experience I have gained a type of maturity that has been noticed ny many. When I first graduated high school, I wasn't quite old enough to head off to a dorm college on my own. The community college I am attending has mentally prepared me for my next steps, attending UMass Amherst in the fall. It has been valuable to attend classes there. I have uped my GPA. I feel like I am actually learning and gaining knowledge useful to me. I feel like I am making something of myself, and I like the way it feels.

I have been taught how to manage my stress, finances, and academics all at the same time while still managing to have tons of fun!
