I love my school. The Christian atmosphere makes students feel at home. I am always excited to go back to school after a break. I love playing inter murals for my social club. All of my class are challenging, but enjoyable. Many students plan to move on to higher education after FHU, and they are well prepared.

I love Freed-Hardeman University! The campus is small so there is not much walking that I have to do between classes, and my professors are very agreeable. They want to see me succeed and get to heaven. Students are friendly and very involved with activities on campus.

I really like the school. The food is improving, the academics are good, I am in touch with my Bible teachers and some other teachers and their events are worth dropping by the school for. The quality of the dorms are fair and the commitment to student safety is great! It is super easy to make lots of friends both with staff and other students.

The school is oriented towards the students. They strive to make the students safe, happy, and educated. I am beyond satisfied with everything I have participated in or encountered at Freed. They do a great job and I wouldn’t choose another school. I couldn’t be more satisfied.

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

    I would tell my hign school self so many things about college life. First, I would say "don't sweat the small stuff". Nothing is worse than overreacting when things don't go as you plan. Most of what happens to you in life will be different from what you expected. Second, I would tell myself "be yourself". I would make sure I knew that I had so many things to offer others by being nothing more or less than what I am. Thirdly, people disappoint you and you disappoint others. Sometimes this can't even be helped, but as long as you know this ahead of time, you will save yourself a lot of long nights worrying. Lastly, I would tell myself that college is a place where you meet some of the best people you'll ever know and they will become your lifelong friends.

  3. What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?

    The lack of diversity and the closed-mindedness and conservativeness of the students and often the faculty. This is less true about the art department, so if one were looking for a group of forward-thinking people on campus, I would suggest spending time with the art faculty and students.

    My classmates vary in so many ways as far as backgrounds, but we are all striving for excellence in our careers and most importatly excellence in the sight of God.

    My school is best known for having such a great Christian environment. Academics are definitely a high priority, but not without the morals and patterns encouraged all the time. The motto of FHU is, "Learning to live and to make a living".

    The best thing about FHU is how nice everyone is to one another. Even among people who may not be friends or like each other, they still respect each other and treat one another with that respect. People truly care about other people here. And the friendships you make will last a lifetime.

    This school is a lot smaller than most other schools around. Also, it's a private Christian university. It's tough to find a place as small, friendly, and wholesome as Freed. Nearly everyone here is pleasant and will treat you like thier best friend, even on your first meeting.

    Anyone who has even a slightly liberal view of Christianity. You will be very disappointed with the Bible teachers and their lack of love for the Bible.

    I tell them about the good Bible teachers, not the ones who tell you nothing that you don't already know. They actually show the Bible as it is meant to read and bring new life to the scripture.

All students must apply yearly for financial aid. This process starts with the FAFSA. Though financial aid deadlines vary by school, it is a good idea to apply as soon as possible. For the upcoming school year, you can apply as early as October 1 for the FAFSA. Additional school aid will be dependent on the FAFSA results.
