Most students are from the Northeast (New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts) and relatively well-off. There is also a large gay community at GW and a growing Greek Fraternity and Sorority system.

There are so many different types of groups here, everyone can find their niche. We lean liberal, but the conservatives on this campus are very outspoken.

Very diverse, they love politics

The student body is diverse in many aspects, contrary to what many people say about GW being very Jewish, but GW is dervse in many other ways, especially political.

The students at GW love to brag about where they are from, what their parents do, and what kind of cars they have parked in their 3 or 4 car garages at home. The demographic of GW students from the New York, New Jersey area, I have learned are most in love with doing this. It frankly is obnoxious. These are the same kids who wear collectively 400$ outfits to class daily, with purses of equal or more value hanging from their shoulder. WE have a very diverse school but you wouldnt know it. The different cultures here voluntarily seclude themselves from one another. I dont think it works adversely in any way, but it like self segregation at its finest. The students are very politically engaged, i think majority are left wing thinkers, but it probably is just a bit more than the many right winged students I know.
