What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
If you even think you might think that you might be interested in a school, apply and research it throughly. Don't only apply to one school, because even if you are accepted and attend, you'll regret the fact that you didn't have choices.

What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?
A great deal of the social activity at IU revolves around fraternities/sororities and sporting events, which can leave freshmen and the uninitiated feeling like an outsider. Luckily, however, for those willing to become involved in other activities and groups, and there are many of them, it is easy to make lasting friendships and feel as if one is part of a community in Bloomington.

What is your overall opinion of this school?
IU has the best campus. I saw a lot of campuses of other colleges in my life and i completely fall in love with IU campus. It is beautiful in every single season, (yes, even on winter time, when it's snowing! ). Professors are great, they want to help you as much as they can. Students are all nice and I made really cool friends. IU has a lot of resources for group studies, which help making the semester easier on you. Not to mention all types of activities you may be involved, meeting new people, leadership organizations, overall improving your resume!

What are the academics like at your school?
My favorite class as far for me has been organic chemistry. As much as I hated and i was very afraid about it, now its totally different. Our professor is really nice and helpful, always available after class and in his office hours, AI all great. They have a group room meeting specifically for this chemistry class. I met a lot of student same level as me or even better, which made us study harder and share thoughts together ! It is very competitive ..

What kind of person should not attend this school?
Honestly, there is not one type of person who could not find their place at Indiana University. The campus is so large and diverse that anyone attending can easily find his or her niche. For example, many varieties of activities outside academics are available and can make the campus seem smaller if a student prefers a more intimate atmosphere.

Is the stereotype of students at your school accurate?
The partying stereotype definitely has its flaws. There are people who do that just like at all the big ten schools. It is such a big school though that it is really easy to find a large group of the student body who are not into that scene at all and are very academically competitive and driven. The stereotype about the snobby girls on the otherhand definitely has a good base. I was actually surprised, as a born and raised Hoosier with family in Bloomington, to find how unfriendly a large amount of the student body seems to be when compared to other campuses I have been on. I had never really heard that many bad things about IU students, except from Purdue fans of course, but once I got here I was surprised I hadn't heard more.

What is the stereotype of students at your school? Is this stereotype accurate?
IU is surrounded by a lot of honor societies. I would definitely call the frats and sororities the school stereotypes. They are known for having study resources that help students going throughout the semester, they involve in different activities, have a lot of opportunities for their future, career involvement and of course known for having big parties!
Another stereotype is the religious people. I have noticed sometimes walking down the hall, a group of muslim females, wearing a 'wrap' around they head, covering all their face and body. They are very nice people once you know them but they like to socialize with their own group.
Nerds: another popular stereotype on my school. Socially little 'awkward', smart, good at school and good grades. They have a bizarre sense of humor. Usually not very interested in sports and dates. Very smart.
You see students that shops at the most famous shop: urban outfiters , target, Sears or JCpenny clothes. (usually sororities), and also students who shop at walmart or K-mart.

Describe a day on campus you'll never forget.
On my birthday this year I was painting my toenails in the lounge in my dorm with some girls from my floor when I got a text from a friend saying they saw a camel walking down the middle of campus! Me and another girl literally ran across campus to hunt down the camel and get a picture with it! My mom totally didn't believe me until I send her a picture!

Why did you decide to go to this school?
I visited IU and fell in love with the school. The campus was beautiful even in the middle of January, the professors were friendly, and the academic programs were some of the best. It was close enough to home, but still fairly far away. It was the perfect blend of everything I wanted.
