I think it is a decent school with a lot of culture. The HBCU experience is strong and impactful for the most part, but I wish that the costs of tuition and everything wasn't as much as what it is given my family's financial situation. I am grateful for every scholarship opportunity that I get to help pay for school.

Overall I truly love it. Everyone is so sweet and friendly; everyone makes you feel welcome. Many people consider the school a party school, and yes we do party but educational action always comes first for many of the students. We have great programs and our nursing program is one of the bests in the state.

I am currently a freshman in Langston University. I started showing up campus during my junior year of high school. I would say that Langston is pretty good. The class sizes that I had were pretty small which helped in understanding the content that teachers taught. Not only that but thanks to campus being small I was able to get my classes on time. Also my dorm had four people and they were pretty cool as we all had similar goals. I can't wait to finish my 2nd semester.

Langston has plenty of great professor and opportunity, however it's located in a very rural area, meaning everything is at least 30 minutes away. The cafeteria food is a 6/10, but they have their good days sometimes. Housing can be difficult to acquire and in some cases it is very unprofessional. There are parties every Thursday, so if you like to get out, that's a plus for you.

My honest opinion of Langston University is I love ittttt! 100% would recommend! It is mostly african-American but anyone can join the Langston family! We have many opportunities. The sports are amazing. And the dorms and good as well . The nursing program is great!

LU is a great place to attend and learn. The university makes sure students are receiving the education they're paying for with the biology department actively offering opportunities with NASA, the agricultural department at the forefront of whatever the state may be doing agriculturally, and a plethora of professors with notable careers. Outside of academics, there's ALWAYS some sort of event going on put up by a student organization, despite being a small campus.

My opinion of Langston University is not anything extravagant, but rather important and accurate. I feel very much that Langston is about life in the sense that is what you make it. Entering Langston is very much a clean slate, if you want to get into stuff you have no business getting into there's avenue for that. If you seek and strive for more than what you currently have, there is more than enough places for that as well. Whatever it is that you wish to gain more of you will. At Langston University you can very much see what crowd people enjoy and gravitate towards within a short period of time of the attending. Langston is exactly what you make it and the outlets you find yourself in are direct reflections of what you pursue, both good and bad.

Langston University is a great choice for those who want to feel like they belong. I enjoy Langston University because some of the professors make it interesting to learn and are accessible even in non-class related issues. I'm not a fan of crowds, but on campus I feel comfortable.

I appreciate the student to professor ratio. The class schedule is after work hours-I am in a graduate program. i enjoy the organic conversations in class. Most of us are non traditional students. We are in the heart of the Race massacre, so we are kept updated about issues. it is a HBCU-Historically Black College University.

Langston University is a great campus. The campus is small and in a rural area. I enjoy the peace and quiet. Our campus has all the organizations, sports, and extracurricular activities for students to enjoy. the teachers are amazing. They work with each and every student. You can seek help if needed. It is a great school.

Langston is a wonderful HBCU experience for students who want to go there. I love the atmosphere and how people are so welcoming to incoming freshmen and transfers. I believe that Langston University just gives that positive experience and educational experience that students like me deserve.

Langston University is overral a great learning environment. Historically it set forth various opportunities for all walks of life being a HBCU college. Langston has great clubs, bands, and even sororietys on its campus. I believe I would be a great asset to Langston University's community by my motivation to learn and make society better.

What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
If I had a chance to go back and speak with my high school senior self I would walk right up to her and look her straight in the eyes. I would then say "stay focused". I would have a conversation with her about her goals and dreams and the ways to prevent set backs. I would tell her that she needs to be responsible and get herself on birth control since she is sexually active with her partner and use protection always. I would tell her that knee injuries happen all of the time and to remain focused on getting a basketball scholoarship. Opportunities for a student athlete are endless. I'd tell her that she will meet so many new people and travel to many places. There are tones of successful men in this world and she should not focus on this man. If he loves her, he will find her in the future. I would say to her that her future is very bright and that an educated beautiful black woman is powerful.
What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?
One thing i wished i had known before i atteded this school would be knowing that having a car would make life alot more easier when it comes to getting around because our school is in the middle of nowhere. For example, going to the grocery store or possilbly getting a job.
What's the most frustrating thing about your school?
the most frustrating thing about Langston University is that the financial aid office, is low on staff, so things aren't being done in a timely fashion.
Here's your chance: Say anything about your college!
What's unique about my school compared to others is that as a campus we are team, and we respect eachother. We are lions and we are a strong school who's prepare for anything.
What kind of person should not attend this school?
Students who shouldn't attend this school should be those who are not interested in making a change for their own lives, those who are not willing to go further up ahead than any let down that they had experienced. In my response, everyone is welcome to come here to this 4-year institute but of course if students, adults or any people are not interested in it then, we should prefer to repest their own actions.
What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about your school?
I brag to my friends that this university as a community has become family to me. My advisor is very helpful with my classes and grades. My newly found roommates are the best. We've become so close in our first semester together. The professors provide help and understanding. The campus life and activities are fun but not overwhelming to where you can't fit studies in. I find it to be a very beautiful setting when I'm outside walking around campus. The school cost is very little with their help of scholarships and financial aid information.
All students must apply yearly for financial aid. This process starts with the FAFSA.
Though financial aid deadlines vary by school, it is a good idea to apply as soon as possible. For the upcoming school year, you can apply as early as October 1 for the FAFSA. Additional school aid will be dependent on the FAFSA results.
84% of students attending Langston University receive some sort of financial aid.
71% were awarded federal grants.73%received federal loans. Many students do also need to apply for additional private student loans.
