My visit at LeTourneau University was amazing and I can't wait to start in the Fall 2025. The campus is really nice and the people, students and faculty, were all friendly and helpful. I was able to meet with the head professor of the computer science department as well as many others. I walked away knowing that LeTourneau is definitely the college for me.

Letourneau University is one of the best Christian schools in the country, and certainly the best Christian polytechnic university. They have extensive programs to help students and the staff there are excellent. Their programs and classes are very effective and educate well.

I love LeTourneau. The first thing that really swayed me to choose LETU was the community. I also really enjoy the Christ-centered learning environment that the school has to offer. All of the professors that I have had start the class with a devotional, reading of the word, or a Christian song that really helps one think and center their minds around the Lord.
I have met some of my best friends at LETU who have been with me through ups and downs.
I am very thankful for the Lord guiding me to LETU and that this school has blessed me with.

It's an a-ok looking school when you first look at it but after digging into more research about LeTourneau University they do a lot of stuff for the college attenders and for the community itself. It gave me a lot of helpings, guides, and ideas of the career of my choice. Thanks, LeTourneau!

I love the atmosphere of the University, the professors are very kind and understanding. The students are very nice and willing to help out if someone has questions. The campus is beautiful and always taken care of, the trees are my favorite thing about the campus grounds.

My overall opinion of the college is that there are a few good teachers and that the accessibility is it's number one reason that they have any students.
Upon enrollment, I was advised that all assignments were due on ONLY Sundays. The enrollment officer failed to mention that the courses lasted 5 weeks, and I would be able to take a break in between courses. Being 6 months pregnant at the time of enrollment, this was especially important for me to be able to take that break - and unless I had asked (repeatedly) the correct questions, I would have been even further behind on coursework.
Secondly, the educators. Upon my first course, I quickly realized that the enrollment office had no idea how much work the professors assign - no big deal, but they way oversold this.
I've had one great professor: she assigns 10+ assignments that are very detailed, lengthy, and time consuming a week, but she grades within 12 hours of your submission, encourages working ahead, and gives a ton of feedback. She even went as far to give us an example of a previous final essay and a template to use in case we had not written an essay in a while and were nervous. She was a challenge, but extremely fair. My only complaint is that she did not include in her syllabus that we were required to run 3 miles, and I was 8 months pregnant at the time I took her class. She was super understanding and allowed me to write an extra essay instead.
The professor I currently have is awful. He assigns 350+ pages of reading a week, and so far maybe 4 pages have applied to his coursework (which is locked and timed, so you can not just feel it out and then decide if the reading is worth time), he also regularly includes books - not chapters - of the Bible that you must read upon opening these locked/timed essays (last week he assigned 5 books including the extremely lengthy Isaiah). Further, he takes 15+ days to grade assignments, offering no feedback, and does not answer his E-mails. He also lied in his "about me" about being a full time missionary - where his public facebook account shows that he is a full-time DJ and music producer. This explains why he never grades work within the required 2 days.
Finally, my adviser is probably the dullest crayon in the box. She regularly asks that I enroll in a required course only to ask me a few hours later that I drop it because it's not on my degree plan.
Basically, if not for the accessibility and the fact that I have very young children's schedules to work around, there is no way I would suggest this college.

I Love LETU, I really do. Its like no other school I have ever attended, and I really do not want to attend another college. This university has such a beautiful academic outline that brings the core classes of a degree and a biblical stand point together that makes you see the world differently that you can also feel. I really enjoy the atmosphere, teachers, fellow students and the homework. This campus is amazing, and I cant wait to get started again.
Sadie
I have found the classes challenging, in a good way, and the people friendly. There is a wonderful culture and I really enjoy my time thier. If there was one thing, I transferred from their online program to thier on-campus program and the transition process was not very smooth. It took quite a few emails, phone calls, and conversations to get it sorted out but everyone was super sweet about it.

LeTourneau University is set on a beautiful campus the allows the mind to escape from the stresses of studying. It has plenty of activities like the game room, the gym, or the pond to go fishing can also relax you. But when it comes down to getting your education LeTourneau's Faculty is great, seems every time I was i need of help my professor was available. If not so many of the other professors are so knowledgeable that across the degree fields the questions never went unanswered.
I think there is no better place to receive a quality education!

The campus is Beautiful and its spaced out to give the students space and make them feel like home. the inside of each building welcomes you like your at your walking right in your house. I'm going to attend this college and i have recommended this college to anyone who wants to feel like home and attend to major in their rightful majors.

LeTourneau University is a great place for anyone who wants to grow mentally and spiritually. Students have high standards to meet that strengthen them mentally, and the casual (yet competitive) community sports culture is fun for even the nerds. But there is also the focus of community to the point that even the professors are respectable and relatable.
Dustin
Although the campus might be a bit on the small side, LeTourneau makes up for its relative smallness with community. There is always some sort of exciting event going on, whether it is a concert, a large scale Nerf war, caroling and hot chocolate, or a puppy-petting session. Sure, it's a religious school, but it doesn't force religion onto you, but takes a far more relaxed stance towards its students religious status.

A great college academically. Not a party college, but heavily scouted by companies. If you don't mind the mandatory chapel or bible classes then it is a great college for getting a job. Professors are aprocable and care about your success. It is by no means an easy college load but it is possible to do as long as you diligently work at it.

Great school for aviation management degree. Professors are knowledgeable of the subject matter and respond quickly to emails. Global student opportunities for students who are not able to live on campus. My LETU student website is easy to use and navigate.

2018 Grad here about give you my honest opinion of LeTourneau. I was full 4-year residential student who was part of the Engineering program, so my review is taken from that perspective.
Short summary: LETU is a very academically challenging school with a small campus feel to it, an environment that encourages you in your walk with Christ, and some fantastic students/faculty. It is however plagued by many other factors. Overall I'd give it 2.5/5 stars. Explanation below.
Pros:
• Very friendly students. You can easily make life-long friends here.
• Most faculty genuinely care about you and are willing to help and invest in you. I cannot overemphasize this point enough, though see con 2.
• The atmosphere is one that encourages believers in their walk with Christ. A predominately Christian body of students also plays a large role in this.
• Hands-on education. Just a good education overall that really forces you to learn.
• Well established reputation among many local companies/schools/etc. Makes it easier to find a job.
• Labs are open and accessible to undergrads, something not seen at many other colleges.
• Though some may complain, the food is actually decent. Repetitive? Yes. Mom's home cooking? Absolutely not. But for college food it's not bad and they're still improving.
• Pretty campus. Also felt very safe on campus (off-campus not so much).
• Smaller student body, combined with many activities that are intentionally aimed at helping you meet people, really help freshmen make friends quickly.
• A great FREE tutoring center.
• An extremely helpful career services center.
• Intramurals, YAC events, free recreational facilities, the new student center, and other campus activities are great ways to stay active.
There are more of course, but that is a high level summary of LETU’s strengths.
Cons:
This is the part I have a hard time writing, because I loved LETU my first 2 years and I want to see it thrive, but the longer I was there the more frustrated I got with many things. Unlike the pros section, I tried to rank these in order of importance so maybe it'll help you make a more informed decision.
1) Administration is ruining this school. They don't listen to the students, never communicate to the students why they make the choices they do, are firing the best profs that LETU has, and above all: they time and time again have shown that they are against the Engineering department. I could go on and on with example after example about why this is my opinion, but you’d need to talk with an honest Engineering upperclassmen student in person to fully understand it.
2) The best professors are slowly leaving or being fired. Keep in mind I'm speaking from an Engineering perspective, though I've heard similar stories from students in other programs. What's more, the professors they've been hiring to replace them have little to no teaching experience, and many students have started failing historically easy classes due to extremely ineffective profs. It's truly is a shame to see one of LETU's greatest pros slowly turn into one of its greatest cons.
3) Residence Life does not care about your opinion as a student. Have an issue with a newly implemented rule or would like to propose a change to the old rules? They don’t care. You could try emailing them to voice your opinion, you could try going into their offices, you could make a petition and get a few hundred signatures. They still won't care. They are also intentionally trying to kill floor cultures which is one of the best parts about LETU dorm life (i.e. they didn't like the floor culture of one floor so much, that they intentionally did not give that floor any freshmen for 2 years. They also continually threaten you with fines)
4) One personal to me. The financial aid department is not there to help you get aid. In fact, they’ll actually fight you to keep you from getting aid. I personally had to fight them 3 different times to get financial aid, but they will not give you any sort of grants or scholarships, nor deem you eligible for OUTSIDE aid, unless they absolutely have to. Best advice I can give you is to talk to upperclassmen about what sources of financial aid they’ve found because LETU’s department will not help you.
5) Lab equipment is often 10+ years old, falling apart, jerry-rigged/held together with duct tape, and a never-ending source of frustration when working on projects. You will spend significant portions of your time fixing equipment that needed to be replaced years ago.
6) A huge disconnect between the athletic and non-athletic students on campus. Athletes are often stereotyped by non-athletes because of this. Admittedly this has been getting better, but it is far from good.
7) Partially unfair of me to write this since LETU didn’t have a head Chaplin during my last 2 years, but chapels are basically pointless. 70% provide little to no value, 20% are entertaining at least, and about 10% actually helped me in my spiritual walk.
There are many more small frustrations that add up, but some may just be my personal preferences and ultimately small nuisances will exist at any college, thus I won’t include them. Hopefully this review gives you a better overall understanding of LETU. In general, it used to be good, as of 2018 it was just kinda meh, and it was slowly getting worse. I surely hope that they’ve changed since I left.

What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
To begin, this is not the first University that I have attended. It is the third, and I truly appreciate and enjoy the fact that it is a Christian, Bilble based, instituion. I thouroghly enjoy the GAPS program, and wish that I had known about it a lot sooner. I would probably have two bachelors degrees by now and a masters.
Everyone has been really understanding and positive. They truly want to see people achieve the goal, of the education that they desire. Not all schools are like that. Some Universities strive to make classes so difficult, that there is no way that you can pass the course by only taking it once. They want you to have to repeat courses, in order to increase school revenue.
What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?
The ratio of girls to guys is pretty low. It would be nice if there were more girls to hangout with, although it is not as if there were no girls on campus.
What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?
i think what i knew beforehand was sufficient, although it certainly wasn't a lot. i learned a lot more once i got here, about campus, classes and life
Providing several online courses and having the accelerated Graduate and Professional Studies(GAPS) program for adults. The semestersare three 5- week modules. In other, words a 3 hr. class only takes 5- weeks, then you move rapidly on to the next class.
I believe the people here are the best part about my school. I have met so many awesome people who have the same mindset as I do. My friends want to work hard and do well in school, which is way different from high school. However, they are still interested in having fun and doing crazy, buy compeletly legal, activities whenever possible!
All students must apply yearly for financial aid. This process starts with the FAFSA.
Though financial aid deadlines vary by school, it is a good idea to apply as soon as possible. For the upcoming school year, you can apply as early as October 1 for the FAFSA. Additional school aid will be dependent on the FAFSA results.
98% of students attending LeTourneau University receive some sort of financial aid.
