I honestly love this campus. It is a small campus with about 1200 student. The professors are very kind and willing to help. It has a historic feel with lots of character. The views of the mountains are great and the campus has lots of resources and on-campus jobs. I would say people here have a lot of school spirit and it is relatively easy to make friends.

So far. I have been on two visits to Maryville College. On the first visit, I wasn't too sure of the facilities and the campus and college "life". However, by the second visit, I felt extremely welcomed by the soccer players and coaches as well as the teachers. It immediately felt like home to me. Everyone was saying high and the mod felt so warm. I'm excited to possibly pursue an education at Maryville College.

Maryville College is an amazing school with very accessible professors and tutors. While the academics are challenging, students have access to several different methods of help and are not left to defend for themselves. The food on campus is good, but can get old after a while. The students are all very kind and accepting. The overall community is very supportive of all different activities and groups. The school is involved in D3 athletics, however, the students and faculty are all very supportive of the teams playing. The overall feel of Maryville College is amazing and a wonderful place to call home for four years!

I think overall it is a good College. I like that Maryville College is only 15 minutes away from the smoky mountains. I also really enjoy the small community that the College has. Another thin I like is that the campus isn’t to big so it is easy to get around.

Overall, I really enjoy Maryville. It has its downs like bad food and other things we wish the college would change...but what school doesn't have them. What I like about it though, it the class sizes are really small (the maximum is like 50), which provides professors and students to actually develop a relationship rather than just being a number. The college also is really good with providing academic support and prides itself on its sustainability, which I really appreciate. I don't at all regret coming here.

Maryville College is an amazing place to grow and learn. Because of their awesome international studies team, I am able to fulfill my dream of studying abroad in Germany. I have never had a bad professor, and the classes I've taken have been interesting and will help me in the future. I cannot praise this college enough!

Maryville College provides excellent one-on-one opportunities for their students and the safety of the college is fantastic! Most teachers are more than willing to work with you if you are willing to take the time to communicate regularly with them. They also have great programs if you are considering travel or extracurricular activities. However, be prepared to study hard, especially in upper-level courses. This is definitely not a party college!

It is a very safe and quite school. The food available at dinning is just average, nothing truly special about it. Campus dorms need to be upgraded to a more update type of dorms. Campus is very empty on weeks , very few people stay on campus on the weekends. A good academic school, but very to little social life available on campus.

Overall, I think Maryville is a wonderful place! Class sizes are small, the professors are very nice and have a close relationship with all the students. Campus life is a very close knit community where everyone knows each other. No one is a stranger on campus, which allows for a better sense of safety while being here! Security is always near if something happens or there are any type of problems. The staff of the resident halls are super friendly along with the other faculty members around campus. If a problem does arise there is always someone to go to.

Maryville College is truly an awesome school. It however definitely has to fit your personality. There are small classes with very accessible professors who WANT to help you. This is not a school for people who want to disappear in the back row of a lecture. There are also MANY tutoring options available. The downside of the school being small is sometimes class section gets difficult, but it gets better as you move on from being a freshman onward. Theres many connections with art as this is a liberal arts college, but some of the other most popular majors are science or business related. If you eventually want to work in the area a degree from Maryville College is highly recognized.

Maryville College is a beautiful, small campus with a great sense of community. Everyone supports one another in their activities, and you know a lot of people on campus. One thing about Maryville College that I would like improvement in is the food options. There isn't much variety for healthy choices, however I believe they are trying to expand.

The professors are very open and dedicated to their students. They all hold office hours and will often meet with you outside of those set times if you make and appointment with them. They are always willing to go the extra mile for you if you are willing to meet them halfway. The administration isn't always as friend;y, although there are plenty in administration who are. There are many out-dated and over-complicated policies and processes within campus housing, for example. I would love to see Maryville College allow all students the option to live off campus.

The first time I visited Maryville College I could not believe how beautiful it was. It is located at the base of the Great Smoky Mountains and you can see them from campus. The campus is nicely spread out so there is a lot of green grass and trees. Maryville College even has a high ropes course and a 140-acre forest behind the dorms. It is a small school, with only about 1,300 students, but that is one of the reasons I love it so much. The class sizes are small, usually only about 10-25 students per class, but having such small classes is great because the professors actually get to know you and genuinely care about you as a student and as a person. I could not be happier with my decision to attend Maryville College.

Violence against women is very prevalent. The administration handled my rape case so poorly that I left mid-year as a junior. There were three rape cases going on just in that semester. The same semester, a student shot his girlfriend to death and my roommate was punched by her boyfriend's roommate. The college does very little to keep its women safe, and a whole lot to cover its reputation.

Maryville College FAQS

  1. What is the Acceptance Rate at Maryville College?

The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Maryville College is 57%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020, _____ students were offered admission.

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

The advice I would give to myself would be to stay calm. Nothing is worth getting worked up over, whether it be a test or a big game. It is importatnt to keep your composure because when you do that your mind will stay clear and you can accomplish more. Also to learn how to study correctly. This is also important because even though you may not need to study in high school, you will need to in college and it is important to learn that skill. Stay organized. If you stay organized and keep things in order, you will be able to accomplish assignments and such on time. Also, if you stay organized and something comes up to where you will have to miss class, you will be prepared. Have fun. Don't let the stress of exams and grades weigh you down. It is important to remeber why your in college but it is also important to let lose sometimes and enjoy your college life. That being said stay responsible while you're having fun. Keep these words with you and you will be successful!

  3. What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?

Facilities are the worst thing because most of them are very old and haven't been renovated. However, a new gym floor has been made and most dorms are being well kept. There is also a 13 million dollar arts center in construction, but we're only going to be able to use it for a year.
